    I had bad luck with Diode Dynamics LEDs (fan cooled) causing terrible interference with my 2-way/ham radio. I'm swapping them out for these fanless LEDs next week, and hope that this solves the issue. The vendor assures me it's the fans causing the RF interference, not the drivers. Let's hope so!

    Comparing these to the V.4 video from HR, these are a bit brighter than the V.4's. V.4 low beam from the other video are 1060 lux compared to 1180 lux for these. High beam V.4's are 3160 lux compared to 3330 lux for XD's. And these are less expensive and have real DRL functionality compared to full power V.4's.

    Thanks for posting this! I'm sure you are busy but if you could just verify one thing for me I would appreciate it. I have watched a few different install videos of the low beam LEDs and yours is the only one that didn't drill a hole in the dust cover. Is it 100% safe to stuff the driver and all into the headlight housing the way you did? Do those heat dissipator things get hot? If so is it okay if they are making contact with the driver and/or wiring? I am anxiously awaiting your response. I appreciate your time.

      @@bbreed1 Sorry for not being clear. Where did you tape/zip tight the driver for the high beam bulb?

  • @andrewthecoleman
    @andrewthecoleman 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The beam pattern with the LED's looks tight. Out of curiosity- did you adjust the collar rotation all on these bulbs?
    Reason I ask- compared to a halogen, the LEDs obviously have two emission points (whereas the halogen is full 360), which leaves somewhat of an anomaly as to where the light is actually hitting the projector lens.
    I installed an identical product recently, and am curious if anyone has tinkered with rotation at all to find the optimal sweet spot for output. At first I didn't think rotating would make a difference in projectors, but after a few adjustments I quickly noticed that the two sided bulb leaves room for inconsistent light emission.

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes that is why the bulbs come with adjustable collars - different headlights require different adjustments to be clocked correctly. In most cases the bulbs are clocked correctly out of the box, but some times making adjustments is necessary, especially with projector headlights.

    • @andrewthecoleman
      @andrewthecoleman 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@HeadlightRevolution Thank you, that's precisely what I discovered after research/experimenting.
      To summarize the conflicting theories- depending on the housing/vehicle: the bulb diodes will either need to face up/down (12 and 6 oclock), or left/right (3 and 9). Nowhere did I find evidence supporting a non 90* based fixture for a projector style lens. The up/down (12-6) fixation produced the optimal output my vehicle (5th 4Runner).
      Something else to keep in mind for those installing a similar product- although the collar is proportionate to the resting angle of the diode, the actual angle is best determined by marking the collar with a pencil or marker once screwed into the housing; 5th Gen 4runner requires a 45 degree turn from stock to achieve the 90 degree increments.

    • @christophergantt1635
      @christophergantt1635 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A.D. Coleman hey man you seem to know what you are talking about. I’m about to buy this exact set of high and low beams- what do the lows need to be at 12-6? And the Highs also at 12-6?

    • @andrewthecoleman
      @andrewthecoleman 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@christophergantt1635 For the low beams- yes (given that you have a projector housing as well).
      *Note that one side of the diode is slightly raised on the edge, that side will obviously need to face backwards.
      Not entirely sure about high beams, I only installed lows so far.

    On your website, when I go to Add to Cart, it requires an option. It says "Street use in fog lights OR use in non-DOT registered (no license plates) vehicle headlights used exclusively off road (never on road). Or international usage in headlights (only where legal)" and the other says "USA street use headlights". It will not let me choose the second option because it is currently unavailable. Does it really matter if I choose the first option, will the bulbs be too bright for my 4runner when on the streets?

    • @HeadlightRevolution

I did lasfit, had a problem fiting plus the beam pattern was horrible. Dont know why. I use all lasfit bulbs on my 2013 toyota venza and they are awesome. But sadly on my highlander only high beam works good. So then i tried Philips brand leds. Fan is to big, cant fit it. Now im thinking to try this. Or morimoto 2 stroke 2.0.
