I made a huge mistake with this video! I mistakingly thought the country the two adventures were talking about was Asura. ITS NOT ASURA!!! It's one of the smaller countries north of Asura that's part of the Northern Territories.
And it's NOT high minister Darius that's eager for war. It's the prime minister of that Northern country that is. They're two separate people.
I apologize for this mistake. I saw a lot of parallels to what Derreck mentioned in Volume 7 and connected some dots a bit too quickly while reading this part of the Epilogue. I will do better next time.
It's alr man! We all make mistakes, just admiting to them and correcting it at right times is what matters.

It's all good! Your videos on Mushoku Tensei are some of the most accurate and well researched that I've seen. Everyone makes mistakes at some point and it's understandable with such a large series!

Just a reminder for people wondering.
The Boreas butler told Rudeus in the S1 finale that he would pronounce Eris as dead.
Dude, it was such an important episode - a restaging one, setting people into motion, hinting at new characters, another seperation for Rudeus _(not as painful)_ complicated with a hard decision about how to proceed.
Turning-Point worthy? If not, a HUGE PIVOT!

If I had to guess the rank would give the mage in question more access to items or knowledge which the guild possesses and it probably carries with it prestige and certain employment opportunities in the future. Unfortunately, I do not think this has been actually mention in the light novel or if it has then I have forgotten about it.
They barely talk abt it in the novel for what I remember, but Im sure its just abt research and mostly scientific contributions or something like that, mostly Cliff, Zanoba and Nanahoshi things
I'd presume it's also considered important for the hiring of court mages, if only as a status symbol.
MAJOR CORRECTION!
While what you talked about Asura is spot on, you mixed two things together.
It was a different country at the northeast where Elinalise and those 2 adventurers met; and it was their Minister (not Darius) that called for war, to which it eventually did already by the time Elinalise left that country.
Asura, though stagnant, is still largely peaceful, powerful and too large for any country to just invade... yet. That was Derrick's worry. He knew it was a matter of time just that it wasn't foreseeable in the near future. He believed Ariel could cement it to be that way even in the far future.
Asura, aside from espionage, is largely uninterested in direct conflict and war and prefers (inner) politic since it's still blessed with plenty of resource; which is what that northern country lacked (along with trade), leading to it starting a war.
Anyways, it also doesn't make sense for Elinalise to end up in Asura when her route going to the central Continent to find Rudeus doesn't cross that area.
Evrything else in the video is good though.
EXTRA NOTE for those wondering ('cause it's been asked plenty before):
Regarding the line that Elinalise said to Rudy about Zenith being a "carefree dingeon-diver", it was just a joking lie to keep Rudeus from worrying.
It wasn't meant to convince him that she was doing exactly that as she, Elinalise herself, only has the info we got from last season and nothing else. Basically, just speculation since Zenith is at least confirmed to be alive and she was an S-ranked adventurer.
Another Major Correction:
The Fittoa Search and Rescue Squad was funded by Zenith's family, the Latreias.
The quality of these videos have gotten so good over the years and you keep the hype real every season with these types of videos! I hope people found anime series because of your videos ani cuz you do a lot of hard work on these every week to keep the hype real!

Another correction for the Asura context section. The Boreas line is still around after Sauros, Philip, and Hilda were killed. James Boreas Greyrat is now the head of the branch, one of Sauros' 3 sons (including Philip.) James is now the liege lord of Fittoa, and IMO doing a shit job with the reconstruction... I believe he showed up as a minor character in Vol 17 of the LN.

(Spoiler warning/corrections to video) 3:00 Those two guys weren’t IN Ausura nor were they talking about its destruction. They were in one of the northern countries that was inside of the contested zone talking about how everyone else had already abandoned the guild and country because people were used to young countries falling almost over night and knew when to get out early.Ausura at this point is in no way shape or form at risk of imminent destruction. Steady and eventual decline that the princess eventually puts an end to YES but for the entirety of Mushoku tensei Ausura remains the most wealthy powerful and STABLE country in the world with only millis being its equal in any of those. It’s “fall” was something that would have happened eventually if Ariel never took the throne but dragon man himself said that that wasn’t going to take place until well after both rudeus and Ariel were dead during you know who’s resurrection. Elinalise had chosen to look for Rudy there because she’d figure he’d scout out the dangerous parts of the north first. Like she and Roxy went to the demon continent first. Because if zenith had showed up anywhere that wasn’t extremely dangerous then she probably woulda been fine on her own.

I felt they adapted this episode very well, it honestly didnt seem like much source material.
I kinda thought this episode would be this, plua the princess/beast folk event. I just remember it being like 2-3 pages of content with the rest being the academy. I was surprised they where able to get an episode out of it without it feeling drawn out.
I’ve got a question but does anyone know if rudy as of now before going to university can fly? I mean eris hinted in the goblin slayer episode he could but i don’t remember him ever flying or mentioning he could fly in the anime?
