Mulligatawny is a soup whose name literally means “pepper water” in the Tamil language of southern India.
Kissel- fruit soup can be consumed hot, warm, or cold. The thought of tropical fruit doesn’t thrill me much.
2 dL is 200 mL, or about five-sixths of a U.S. cup (four-fifths of a metric one). In metric, milli= thousandth, centi = hundredth, and deci = tenth. Also, deka = ten, hecta= hundred, kilo= thousand.

Mulligatawny is a soup based meal. It was created by the Indians during the British occupancy as the Brits insisted on starting their meals with a soup appetiser.

I've had this one before and it's nothing like the normal version either as a meal, in looks or taste, in fact you could have given Nathan a list of ingredients and told him to make lamb muligatawny and he'd have been closer.

These rations are great! Anything for cold weather is the best! As usual great review, much more regular than Steve1989 and that's not a poop joke.

I have a few of these menus, I do have one of these and I also gave one away as a subscriber prize. Didn't realise the fruit soup was in it so I hope they like it. I need to try this myself. Great review guys.

    Mull-ah-gah-taw-nee.
That is one of the world's great dishes. Created at a polo club in India. It is absolutely lovely.
Unfortunately there are so many bad recreations of it.

dl = deciliter which equals 100 mililiters, so 2 dl = 200 mililiters

It's easy to pronounce, it's said how it looks, mully-gah-tawny, sounds welsh to me, but it's indeed an indian dish, apparently the name translates to "pepper-water" cos it's a spicy soup normally...

Why does Norweigna MREs have english writing on em lmfao.
Do they plan on exporting em? Is it for interoperability or sumn?

They are part of NATO. I guess that has something to do with it. It also allows them to use ration packs as Emergency Relief aid to other countries easily.

There are two "offical" NATO languages, English and French, there is a NATO Stanag (Standard Nato Agreement) saying that these languages must be used for instructions etc to reduce problems when operating with multinational NATO forces that do not have English or French as their mother tongues.

    • @ReyOfLight

Probably because of their NATO membership and/or other international situations where MRE’s may be used either during exercise or, heaven forbid, war
