    Leverpostei(Liver pate) is really a ideal food for a MRE. Insanely nutrient, calorie and protein dense. Vitamin and mineral content so high it's basically half food, half supplement and 100% delicious.

    Combat in arctic conditions will see you burn somewhere between 4,500 to 6,000 calories every 24 hours. You will need to eat 4 or 5 of these ration packs a day. Not to mention water.

    A lot of Polish Rations have eider Pate or some other form of Processed meet. Its also a common form of outdoor / boy-girl-scout / college-student food (being a College student counts as "urban survival" in Poland) We like to put pickles, ketchup and salt / Pfeffer on them.

    Dutch 24 hour rations always have a lot of paté, at least the older ones. We usually ate one and traded the otherone(s). I haven't had the newer politically correct versions yet but it would surprise me if they removed it from the rations. I like the Scandinavian rations they are the only ones who use large rations like us.
    PS I love you taking the Arctic cup to test the Arctic meal 🤣👍

    I laughed out loud at the spoon malfunction. We have all been there. Thought Norway would have copied their Swedish neighbors with a 'Light My Fire' inspired Spork made of its Bio Plastic. However, that might up the cost.

    Now this is a meal plan I could eat. Seeing as it doesn't have fish in it. Believe me, it sucks having an allergy to fish. I can only eat shellfish 🦐. It's the only seafood I can eat. So seeing a meal plan like this is excellent. Hope to see more like this in the future. Canadian Prepper just had a video showing you how to make your own MRE's, which was cool.

    is there a reason u never put a sharpener of any sorts being a ceramic rod or diamond rod over even a stone in any form in your survival kits?

    • @KitbashedSurvival
      @KitbashedSurvival  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I might put a sharpener in a long term survival kit, but with most survival kits the goal is to get rescued and/or safe as soon as possible and so using up limited space in a kit for a sharpening tool isn’t as big a priority.

      it is, but what is commonly called a "calorie" is actually a kilocalorie. So 1kcal is the same as 1 calorie.

    • @KitbashedSurvival
      @KitbashedSurvival  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. There doesn't seem to be much that's really "arctic" about it. But then again I don't live in Norway so what do I know?

    • @jeremymoses7401
      @jeremymoses7401 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The calorie count is actually high if compare US eating habits to those of other nations... our rations run the same calorie count and you will gain weight unless youre actually doing enough to turn out 4000 calories eating 3 a day. As for the "Arctic"... its probably more for the foods ability to survive the conditions until eaten. Ours tend to have a lot of moisture because they arent freeze dried.... so i can only imagine them being a huge ice block
