- This Norwegian 24 hour SR92 was a very transitional, somewhat bulky throwback to the modern single meal variation currently issued to the Norwegian Armed Forces. This review was a real blast from start to finish. With corroded codfish caviar, whole meal biscuits decomposed down into mush, overly acidic coffee, beef stew with a horrendous nacho cheese-syle sauce, slightly stale tropical fruit soup, and a super dry and not overly sweet dark chocolate bar, this 24 hour ration really had it all.

The matchbox says "Think of the environment, clean up after yourself" and the lunch energy drink is raspberry. The fish main course was, at least when I was a conscript in '98, said to be the best one, although I think it was cod, not pollock. Anyway, love the videos. Watch them with my wife as soon as they are released. All the best.

Ive watched like almost every video of Steve's about twice over now and he has always given a review of whatever he was showcasing no matter how good or bad. He has never done a shorter review of a food item then he has with that mackerel and tomato sauce lol.
Oh man that choclate is so good!!! I had a few of those choclade bars a while back in a couple of Norwegian 24-hour rations from the late 90's.

I had a feeling that one would sound weird to some folks. The pulp of that marmalade has a texture that is almost like a cross between some sort of finely pulled meat and a mushroom. And even that still probably sounds odd.

- Where do these old MREs come from? I know modern ones are diverted, sold when they expire etc. but someone just held onto this for 20+ years then decided to sell it, and from so many random places? Weird.
This is the best era of ration to see unboxed. It's always hit or miss, but the more modern plastic or foil pouch keeps things in better shape than cans. An excellent look into the past, but also an exciting gamble!

In any kind of post-apocalyptic wasteland, I want Steve on my survival team.
He has a set of skills that would keep us alive as scavenged food stores get older and older. He will be able to tell us what is safe-ish, what is not, what is dubious but will probably give you some nutrition.
