The silences are because it's a character select screen. You have to switch to a different character, for the dialogue to activate. That's the only time in the game that you get those pauses. It's pretty obvious and self explanatory
One hope I have for this is that the character is allowed to show through the dialogue. Like, in an interrogation scene, if you pick Bundagirl or Robin, they use intelligence to get to the truth. If you pick Nightwing, he also uses intelligence but cracks a joke or two. And if you pick Goat Hood, he simply threatens to shoot them in the dick
Nightwing uses Intellect, a joke or a couple of threats not too far off of Batman like Breaking a man’s entire arm or sending him to the ER, dropping off a Building… Depends on his mood I noticed…

Arkham Knight came out in 23 June 2015 and the graphics combat and story in that game still appear to be running laps around this game. I love the batman universe so i do want to game to be good but nothing i have seen so far has made me go WOW i need this now lol

All the above and the fact that this is one of the rare times a game is being put on next gen aka current gen consoles ps5 xbox series s/x and pc only and this is the way it looking is kinda odd expecially when compared to whats its most likely gonna be compared to (suicide squad kill the justice league) and many other open world combat games

one of the notable things about the Arkham Series is that they not only excelled in Combat but also pacing and adding side activities. It wasn't fight club 100 percent of the time but also exploration and puzzle solving. Using the gadgets and finding riddles. I just can't find anything new about Gotham Knights that we haven't seen in the original Arkham Asylum. A 13 year old game is somehow more rich in personality and activities than GK.

I never had a in interest of playing any of the Batman Arkham games because I'm more of of a fan of Batman's sidekicks, especially Nightwing & Red Hood. Now, when I see more of the gameplay of this game, I'm quickly losing interest, especially when it comes to Red Hood "air jumping" or shooting magic bullets. This news confirms that I'm not getting this game.
Another thing I worry about with this game is the possible lack of villains. All we’ve seen so far is the Court of Owls, Penguin, Harley Quinn, Clayface, and Mr Freeze. It is possible that they don’t want to show off all the villains to avoid spoilers to the story, but I just don’t want another Marvels Avengers a game that only had 3 actual marvel villains in the story.

I had high hopes for this game when it was announced, then I stepped back and thought about how all this could be good or down right bad, but I’m somewhat optimistic about it, because it’s a live service game that has plans to expand the roster of heroes from the Batfam, if each new character comes with their own sets of missions and cutscenes tying into the larger narrative then it could be fantastic, but they beat Jason’s abilities worse then the Joker… still I wanna give the game its fair chance seeing as it’s not building off the Arkhamverse (which might’ve been a selling point for some), but honestly if it launches and is a surprise hit I’ll feel better for buying the $90 version, if not then they better pray that their character expansions keep me coming back, Stephanie Brown, Cassandra Cain, Kate Kane, hell bring in Duke Thomas, Luke Fox, Helena Bertinelli, John Paul Vally, the list could go on and on, but I digress. Honestly, the freaks’ role in this game seem pretty self-explanatory, they’re just fodder you beat the hell out of real quick and keep it going to gain Not even a spec of what you would defeating Joker.
Nitpicking them is beyond hella picky, “nitPicky” is an understatement being harsh on the entire game just for blatant annoying generic thugs who likely have no actual relation to Joker himself.
I’m guessing you never played call of duty, Ratchet and clank, basically 1K+ amazing games cuz the minions who supposed to have no impact on the story wasn’t “Final boss tier” in dialogue and story. Lmao
Pretty much every story, action and adventure game have them, aka plain fodder.
Playing games through out 10 years, we’ve probably all killed like half a million of them.
They’re in The Arkham games too, some people still HATED the goons’ dialogue in those games too lol

I had high hopes for this game when it was announced, then I stepped back and thought about how all this could be good or down right bad, but I’m somewhat optimistic about it, because it’s a live service game that has plans to expand the roster of heroes from the Batfam, if each new character comes with their own sets of missions and cutscenes tying into the larger narrative then it could be fantastic, but they beat Jason’s abilities worse then the Joker… still I wanna give the game its fair chance seeing as it’s not building off the Arkhamverse (which might’ve been a selling point for some), but honestly if it launches and is a surprise hit I’ll feel better for buying the $90 version, if not then they better pray that their character expansions keep me coming back, Stephanie Brown, Cassandra Cain, Kate Kane, hell bring in Duke Thomas, Luke Fox, Helena Bertinelli, John Paul Vally, the list could go on and on, but I digress. Demigah, I hope we can enjoy this game as Batman fans, and that you’ll make some great content off of it. Good luck brother, may the Knights shine bright.

Honestly Red hood looks fun as hell but the two things that bother me is the mystical leap and how fucking slow his hand to hand combat looks like he doesn’t fight like that.
I loved what WB Montreal did with Arkham origins but I 100% feel the same way with your gripes I know I'm putting my trust into WB to deliver an awesome Bat family game
