In 1960’s my principal would walk around with a paddle in the school yard and whack you if you did something wrong. Parents would never criticize teachers. The school was spotless, then they had busing and the school got dirty and graffiti all over it after that and that was sad to see in later years.
Yhea my mom sort of enjoyed teaching from home druing covid especially the cat enjoyed his sugar mama being home 😂 tell you what though cats love coumpters except for your cat.
About to graduate with my BAES in Secondary Education- Science (Biology) and having a lot of doubts about the traditional classroom. Particularly the lack of time with family and the use of cellphones in the classroom. I have watched your last three videos (leaving the classroom, orientation, and a day in the life), I would love any advice you would care to share about how to get into a virtual classroom. I have had the privilege of being a stay at home mom and online student for the last few years and the idea of going from spending every day all day with my little to never getting to see him or being too emotionally drained to engage with him breaks my heart and gives me a lot of doubt about my future career. Help!
Who has to deal with students’ phones and excessive bathroom visits while you sit at home on your couch? Why don’t you let your kids stay home and homeschool them?

Awesome. I spend all day grading and sometimes I work in my yard. I put in a lot more hours teaching at four colleges

Very rarely. Most work has moved to typing
I use a drawing tablet for maths, doesn't feel any different to using a pen

I just googled all the virtual school options in my state and applied!
Continue being a stay at home mom and housewife. Homeschool your child/children.
When I taught online it was a $20,000 cut in pay... I didn't like it. I hope it's better for you.
