I'm old enough I drank from the garden hose, rode my bicycle without a helmet, rode skateboards with clay wheels (aka sidewalk surfer), and rode in the back seat of my parents car without being harnessed in, rode in the back of pickup trucks, and survived it!
Don't get me wrong, I love to see the children having fun and getting into everything....but.....to see you and DJ just having time to chitchat, slow walk around the farm, catch up on life and each other....that is the best ever.
My mom always said, I rather have the neighborhood kids at the house because that way she knew where her kids were.
That's how my mom was, and how I was when our son was younger. Most of the neighbor kids mom's worked and they knew we were always home and I fed them snacks or meals!😉
yep, all the neighborhood kids were always at my house. some stayed a little while, some stayed all day, and some stayed all night. My record was 17 staying all night. In my kids bedroom with the beds lashed together. The kids were small so all heads out & feet pointing to the middle. And my king comforter covered them all. I took 6 with me & my kids on their last kids vacation. They picked an amusement park & I picked camping at the lake. The clubhouse had a band that night & kareokie. They were out until midnight. Came back to campsite for s'mores & popcorn. Got up the next morning, broke camp and drove 20 miles to amusement park. Waited for them to open. Stayed all day until they closed. Then I drove over 300 miles back to our hometown & delievered everyone to their homes. They still take about the greatest vacation they took with me.
My mother was a saint (God Bless Her) so my house was where all the kids came.
My house was the gathering spot 👌 for the kids in the neighborhood as well as 3 or 4 that came from school!! Weekends would come and there was always 1 but up to 7 for Friday night and/or Saturday even until Monday morning when kids were brought back to school with freshly laundered clothes & a sack lunch 😋 with a full 😋 belly from breakfast!!! My dad always ❤ 💙 came over Saturday night after mass for dinner or early dinner on Sunday (3pm). All the boys called him Grandpa and for Father's Day 💙 would all together ❤ give him their card and gift plus out to dinner a couple of days or week before the Father's day. Their parents were all very nice 👌 and never said No unless for a family function. At Christmas time I had open house for neighbors and friends especially for the kids which quite often brought their parents to the open house! I usually started baking & cooking as early as Oct finishing on the day of or night before!! Everyone left with a goodies bag plus toured the rooms because each was decorated with a different theme like snow babies, animals, antique ornaments & related Christmas items & always, Disney. We also took one person to stay the night on Christmas eve to have an old fashion family day. They always received a stocking and 10 presents 🎁!! Of course we included adults especially elderly living alone to do it to also. I stopped almost 20yrs ago when I moved to the country where I am now!!! To this day they never fail to bring it up & reminisce about!! The majority are married with family. But the most rewarding thing is to know Every single One has taken from their experience back then to do several of the things that they loved & inspired them into doing as an adult with family!! Thanks 😊 for sharing with these kids because you are leaving a huge impression & influence of what to have in their adult lives!! I guarantee that you might not know it or see it yet especially with your own kids but it's a reward for you both!! Thanks 😊 again, for the way Our world is the Children need every extra blessing they can get!!!!
So glad to see y'all taking time for y'all... We've been married 39 years and have date night weekly... however We've had life events happen, the loss of Dad and now Mom lives with us, has dementia so we cannot leave her, so we have to be creative to spend time with us and Mom on date night... however we make it work ... we are making it work.

Rufus is like he highway patrol alpaca. Rufus sees his job protecting the goats, the donkeys and the Donkey Poodles. So when the foal is born Rufus will treat like a cria.
No stress. No muss. No fuss. Just being together as a couple is a wonderful thing. Y'all have earned it.

When my kids were teens I always had a house full and they all called me mom. Now they are all grown with families of their own and yes they still call me mom and now I get the bonus of being Grandma too!!! Several of the kids that hung around my house had a not so good home life so I was glad to show them what a normal (if you can call having a house full of teens normal) family is like, and that they as a human being were valued and respected.

A friend of mine started a mini petting zoo and makes tons of money. She does everything from birthday parties to fairs.

My husband and I will be celebrating 17yrs married, 5 kiddos, and i couldnt agree more! We are without our teens and lil man (almost 6) and we looked at the garden and walked around our lil farm. Not exciting, but we shared so many laughs ❤❤ way to go guys!

On the utube channel " Ima Survivor Sanctuary" they have an alpaca named Annie who not only looks like Rufus but also is the guardian of all the animals on the farm and spits mightily your way if you cross her!
Annie is a Llama, and Ernie is an alpaca... I've watched them all for a few years... 🙂
@@carinshaffer5980 check out utube "flipflop farmer" ( LE is the son of Ima's owner Lester) spotlight on Annie. In one of the comments, LE says Annie is actually part llama, part alpaca. They always refer to her as an alpaca.

We got our new Kiko buck from lookout point Ranch,Oregon(raised wild) and my was handing feeding him the first day.....hahahaha. Buster is a big ole boy too!

No, y'all planted her patio pots! A friend got me good at school lunch. I got my lunch and came over to a table. She said to everyone, hey, y'all need to come out to the Village where we live and see Virginia's pot garden. ( I had so many flower pots when I moved, I used them in the porch area). After school a new teacher came up to me and said, how much? I looked at him funny and asked for what? A couple of ounces was his answer. I giggled and said I have a flower pot garden. He blushed and left!
