I'm about to quit my teaching job, at a wonderful Christian school, at the end of the school year. We will begin homeschooling our twin daughters. I'm terrified, but I know this is what we are being called to as a family. Prayers appreciated.
@@antoinettemoore976and I am certain you are great with those lesson plans. I mean who wouldn’t be if they are getting info from an uneducated, washed up child actor who believes the world is 6,000 years old? 😂
I'm just now researching and considering homeschooling our soon to be 8yr old. This is the 3rd video of yours that I've watched today on this subject. Thank you Kirk, this is tremendously helpful. God bless you
The best thing you can do is take the power back with your young ones! It worked wonder for us! our daughters are learning so much quicker than their private school counter parts, and the values they are retaining will be something that will be fruitful for them in the future.
My husband and I made sacrifices to homeschool our children. Their schools were underperforming, we could not afford private school, and we did not approve of the assault on traditional values and the forcing of LGBTQ and Trans agendas! We have no regrets; happy kids, who behave age-appropriately!
I took my son out of the LAUSD school system three years ago. He is now in 9th grade. His test scores are much better, and he is calm with no anxiety about being shot in school. He is able to go at his own pace and make his own schedule which has given him a sense of responsibility allowing him to grow into a mature young man. I cannot say enough good things about homeschooling. There are so many options now for parents. You don't have to be the teacher! My son goes to K-12 high school online and has several different teachers for different classes like college. I am just his "coach" so it works out perfectly with my work schedule. The tragedy occurring in Texas has made my final decision to continue his homeschooling and he agrees. I pray for ALL parents out there in today's society. We need the Holy Spirit's guidance more than ever! God bless!
Single mom, homeschooling 5. Also we will school around the year, and clearly not the days I work. We also teach in block concepts. My oldest gets migraines, and she is able to do ELA with audiobooks without a headache reading causes. All are thriving. Freedom is a perk. I want to do co-ops next year.
As a teacher of 48 years, having spent all my career in private religious schools, I can say that while most children prosper in a well-structured Christian environment academically, spiritually and socially, there are those with special needs of all kinds who do better in other settings. My "fight" over the years has been to get administrators of the schools in which I worked to acknowledge this fact and assist parents to provide alternative education possibilities for their special needs students. Home schooling would seem to best fit the bill. While 1 size does indeed fit most, it does not fit all.
I can agree with that, if a child is thriving in an educational setting, leave it alone. However, I still believe if both parents are invested in teaching here own, and are willing to put forth the effort, home education is the gold standard. There is no argument with having one on one attention vs one on twenty. Facts.
Atheists don't send their children to an evangelical Christian Sunday School one hour per week, but Christians send their children to the atheist public schools 30 hours per week. I am a retired teacher and unequivocally proclaim that there is no hope for America if Christians and conservatives allow their children to be indoctrinated in the public schools. We must rescue our children!
So true This is why the left fought so hard to stop vouchers and freedom of educational choice. Now, over a decade later, we see the terrible results of the public schools on the current generation, that's now leading the country into ruin.

It is not supposed to be like this. how can you learn when there is people trying to one up one another, not to mention the backstabbing that separates positive friendships. school was torture because they forget put biblical studies as an option for a choice for one of my classes. i miss my friend from harmony hall. I would first ask why both parents need to work. And I’m not trying to be snarky, but I find most families I know who say they need multiple incomes have 2 car payments and a house that’s bigger than they need. Again, I’m not trying to cast judgment. Living off of one income is difficult, but not impossible. I have stayed home for the last 12 years while my husband has worked a job in retail. We’ve had to make sacrifices, but there have been more blessings than I can measure.
And I know some families where the parents work opposite schedules or they homeschool in the evening. Some families find support from extended family or other homeschoolers.
In my opinion, you really only need about 1.5 to 2 hrs max. Homeschool in the evening &/or on the weekends. Today I did both my girls’ lessons & was done in 1.5 hrs. One was handwriting or reading independently while I prepped or taught the other child. We have some chaotic days that we only do half their lessons, or only 1 subject, but we use the weekends for make up days. You can get really creative with what works for your family. Hubby & I work on-call, so we have absolutely NO stable schedule. Sometimes we teach in the car. It’s very doable. Check with your state to see what their requirements are. I’m in Texas & we can do whatever we want, there’s no testing or “checking in”.
@@thriftyminiaI just switched my 8 year old at the end of 1st grade to Enlightium Christian academy. Their system is confusing what curriculum do you do or school?
I am a singel mom who works full-time. Honestly, I made homeschooling a priority over money and leaned on God for provisions and I have to tell you we were ALWAYS provided for! That is not to say I didn't work. God opened up a door for a new avenue so I could work from home! PRAY on it!
Kirk, Being a single parent that isn’t an option. My child does well in public school and is the gifted program. Myself and his Dad also take him to church and teach him about God and what’s right and wrong. He’s a smart kid, he knows what to do. Dana
You don’t have to convince anyone. If ur child is doing well, that’s a blessing. I think most kids with special needs do not do well in a public school setting, so that’s where home education would come into play. I have seen it with my own eyes, I worked in the special needs classroom, and it’s awful.
I think the main advocating point to homeschooling is that 30 hours away in a Godless school per week with people who you do not know and negative influences, as subtle as they may be, have a tremendous impact on your child’s development both mentally and spiritually, whether you see it now or in the future.
Well, considering the fact that s3x toys were being handed out to high schoolers not too long ago in a very respected school, I would say that kids are VERY close to being indoctrinated by schools, if they aren’t already.

Please explain how public schools are “atheist”. They are (or at least should be) simply secular. Your comment drips with ignorance.
