- Here is everything you need to know about how I made my Tears of the Kingdom Link cosplay!!! I was planning on releasing this much earlier, but CapCut for some reason was opposed to editing a 20 minute video on my phone (wack). Technical difficulties were finally resolved and here is the video you've been waiting for!!

Hi, you're really surprised I'm here, apparently. I was looking into what'd I'd need for a link cosplay and stumbled upon this video, which covered basically everything I needed and actually helped me start thinking more into the actual craft of it. I'm only here to say that next time you go into this much depth on making something like this, you should show us a bit of the technical bits you did to make the costume, if you are able to.
Oh, and, could you maybe show us a bit on the prosthetic arm? Some also want the Hylian shield, but I have found a neat metal replica of both it and the master sword.
So this was actually the first cos I'd ever made and I had about 6k followers on TikTok at the time lol! I didn't think to record the actual process because I didn't really know what I was doing crafting-wise (and I also had no idea people would want to know). I'm gonna try to film for some of my other projects though! Only issue is that I'm on a tight making schedule for cons and content, and filming slows down the process a Lot. But I'll see what I can do for y'all! I hope it's still helpful and I wish you the best of luck!! 💙
imo the little rip on the tunic is better bc it looks like link has been like in battle with it
My little brother is going with link's archaic set for Halloween, so my mom and I have been attempting to recreate Link's arm which is impossible to do justice😩
My mom made the Zonai battery pack from cardboard and it looks real good

I watched your TikTok and kicked through the door the very second you said you made a TH-cam video! First of all, holy hell, the amount of work and dedication is incredible (and makes sense considering the cosplay itself is genuinely one of my favourites), I pray for you and all of that hand embroidery omg!
I'm most amazed by the armour, and I do have a question! When making the armour, specifically the bracers, did you make them to your exact measurement, or did you make them bigger? If so, by how much? :)

the first undershirt I bought for this cos was a more chunky knit turtleneck, so I made the bracers to fit with its sleeves. but then I switched to a much thinner turtleneck for comfort after the bracers had been made 😭 so what I did was cut a long fuzzy sock in half and cut off the toe, then wear the halves like arm warmers under the bracers to make them fit :D

I think the main chesplate is on the wrong side because in game it’s on links left side idk if yours is on your left side but the video looks like it’s on your right but it could also be that the camera flips everything
For the shoes, did you happen to make your own boots? I've been struggling to find ones that look similar

do you use your natural hair for the cosplay? and what wigs would you recommend to find a similar natural look?
I do use my natural hair!! unfortunately I don't have any specific wigs I can reccomend, but I'd say your best bet would be looking at cosmetic wigs instead of cosplay wigs :D

I am so sorry it's taken so long to reply, I don't check my TH-cam that often unfortunately 😭 so most of the patterning was just done on the fly/by eyeing it so i actually don't have any physical pattern pieces! but I hope your armor turns out amazing!!

I too am making a link costume but the Breath of the Wild version, i don’t know if you will see this but how did you make your boots. I was thinking about wrapping old cowboy boots but i’m not entirely that it would work.
I actually just recently got new boots!! I wanted to keep the feel of the hylian trousers, but I just felt like they were a little boring compared with the tunic. I ended up making some foam detailing to go on the toes and heels that matched the armor! I didn't add the cuffs at the top though so unfortunately I don't really have advice on that 🤷🏼

how did you scale the armor to your body? I'm making a cosplay now and don't have much room for mistakes with one roll of eva foam
I patterned everything out using posterboard! it's pretty cheap and it's very flexible, and easily held together with tape. Then I just cut the pieces out of craft foam :D
What other swords do you have, I noticed that you have what appears to be either a small sword or rapier in the background.
I also have a katana and a wakizashi, and a lightsaber :D

What brand is the heat treat foam?
it doesn't matter what brand you use, as long as it's EVA foam! but mine is the generic hobby lobby brand
