My father became a catholic while he was in WWII he said that the men who were catholic had the most bravery and seemed to know that they were there to fight for our freedom and our country, and if they died they knew where they were going.
Thanks much for sharing. It empowers me somehow. May their bravery and sacrifice set an example for us in today's setting. Because sadly, we could tend to forget history and its lessons. Gradually, to put their selflessness and courage in vain.
What a great interview! I am a cradle Catholic, my father was Italian Catholic and married my Lutheran mother. As far back as I can remember my Daddy took my sister and I to Mass every week, got us up, dressed out the door...hats on heads, gloves on hands! My mother after studying theology for several years was confirmed with my sister! One by one her entire family converted, and their children too! Daddy went to daily Mass and always had the Rosary near him. His love of Jesus, the Mass and our Lady just spoke to people. Never once asked my mother to convert.❤
I am a priest from Cameroon. I love your program. A especially thanks to Dr. Travis for being frank and honest. That is a true mark of a Saintly person.
Me im weak cathilic then im watching about how to defend protestant attack in catholic i watch many videos and debate fr darwin gitgano vs another religions and now strong catholic
Catholic converts' stories make me come back to my Catholic faith . Thank you brothers and sisters in faith for sharing your journey home. Praise be to God.
I love this. I'm a cradle Catholic, and this really helps me with my faith journey. So, I would like to thank Protestants for strengthening my faith in Catholism. Saffice to say, To know your enemy is know what you both are fighting for. Or, the grass is not greener on the other side. Not in this case. My grandfather told my father, and my father told me, and I told my son. "I am a Catholic, and I will die as a Catholic." The Catholic Church is the Church founded by Jesus Christ himself. Led by His Apostles. Traditions + Scripture + Authority =The fullness of the faith. Who am I to question God's Church. ❤❤❤ Jesus, I Trust In You. 🙏
Hello Keith. I would like to see a video of you and John MacArthur discussing the Faith. John MacArthur has no clue of what the Catholic church is all about. ❤😂
This is very humbling and helpful, i am in the process of becoming Catholic, i can not wait to eat the real body and blood of Jesus Christ. True, my protestant Church is the foundation to my conversation. I reached a point when my Church was not enough for my spiritual growth, i had to find a Catholic or othordox church, the Holy Spirit led me to a Catholic Church. Praise be to God. Amen
I’m grew up in Poland with JP2 . Came to Canada in 1989 . All I can say is that the Catholic faith is full of beauty, truth and fullness of it and I learn it all from both of my grandmothers who were devout Catholics .In those difficult , modern times I encourage all to pray for our enemies , those who got lost in the world and that God sent The Holy Spirit to renew the face of the world a specially in North America ! And one more thing …DO NOT BE AFRAID !!! Pax
As a son, grandson, nephew and cousin of sincere and faithful Baptist Pastors, I was incorporated in the Catholic Church in 2022 after reading and studying the Church Fathers. They were Catholic and had a deep communion with Christ through the Eucharist and shared in the communion of Saints. I felt I needed more of the communion of the Body of Christ within the Body of Christ. As a Law Professor I was lucky enough to have a very intelligent, educated and saint-like Catholic colleague (who is now a justice in the Portuguese Constitutional Court) who helped me in overcoming my hostility towards the Catholic Church. My wife and youngest son joined me and were also incorporated in the Catholic Church. In the end of the day we were all surprised and keep all this in our hearts.
I converted to the Catholic Church almost 9 years ago after seeking truth most of my life. I was raised Episcopalian, then was exposed to mormon church in college and converted but it felt empty. So, I tried most protestant denominations before I settled on the Southern Baptist church, then God drew me to the Catholic church after 7 years as a Baptist. It truly is the BEST decision I have ever said, “yes” too. Christ is King, ¡Viva, Cristo Rey!
This is an excellent interview! Dr Lacy is such an intelligent and thoughtful man. We are so lucky to have men like the both of you in the Catholic faith. Praise God and peace be with you both
This is amazing. They're talking about their conversions based on their higher theological learnings. I am a born Catholic and consider myself lucky not to research anymore to find this true religion. My belief is solely anchored through the Eucharist and church teachings and personal experiences of Jesus and Mama Mary and devotions and reflections on the lives of Saints and observance of age old practices and traditions of Catholics. Praise God.
Convert from Tulsa, OK here! Yes, this area is a whole different level of non Catholics and anti Catholics! Praise God he led me to the fullness of the faith!
It's incredible how similar so many of our stories of conversion are. My own story is similar to Keith & Travis in the search for fuller truth, coming from a "non-denominational" church background. Two years ago I closed the doors to a church that I pastored because I was on the road home to Rome. Easter vigil 2023 was one of the happiest, most fulfilling days of my life. Pax Christi!
Beautiful story and such an authentic witness to the phenomenon of Protestants who convert to Catholicism. We converted in 2017. Praise be Jesus Christ now and forever!
As someone who was born and raised in OKC and also grew up in a nondenominational Bible based church who is in the beginning of conversion to Catholicism… it is SO NICE to see another Catholic with the same background!! 😭🙏🏻
Great interview. My catholic son and his Jewish wife just joined an Anglican Church and are having their baby baptized. I am very happy and still thinking one day he will make a full circle home to the catholic faith.
As a cradle Catholic I loved this interview, thinking about sharing with some of my non Catholic friends and my fallen away Catholic family. Thank you Keith and Dr. Lacy.
This literally brought me to tears when he talks about his painfully and humbling conversion. I pray each day for conversion of a couple family members.
If that's what conversion looks like, I'm done evangelising. Bleed on my damned shirt... No thanks!! I'll tell people the gospel from the other side of the room!
I’m similar! I was a Jehovah’s Witnesses and I’m greatful for that experience because it lead me to the Catholic faith. I remember one of my first conversation stories of a Protestant to Catholicism was Keith’s!! So thank you both!! Your examples are much appreciated 😊🎉
@@maryqcarnes4482 yes exactly!! I actually had to prove to my self if Christianity was it. Before that I went into Greek philosophy, Buddhism, learned Joseph Campbells heroes journey and then when I got into Christianity I found out about the early church and the fathers and that there basically catholic. The whole time I was praying to god to help me discern the spirits and it seemed to me I was being lead to Catholicism over and over again
I'm amazed that so many learned men with doctoral degrees in theology have converted to Catholicism in recent decades - and many of their colleagues have followed suit! Praise the Lord!
Keith u did an excellent job interviewing Dr. Travis Lacy. Truly warms my Catholic (previously Protestant) heart.❤❤❤ Looking forward to lots more of these Testimonials, Keith. God Bless. Pax Vobiscum. Semper Fidelis. Aaahhhmain. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💟💟💟
I loved it ! I was raised Catholic as a child and then we move back to Louisiana from Europe. My dad was in the Air Force and so all we had was protestant churches kind of like what he said because we lived in Louisiana and so I wanted to get back to my Catholic roots and it’s hard to find a Catholic Church and nobody especially my husband is understanding why I wanna go back to my Catholic roots and Candace Owen said it best one time that someone had told her that the Catholic religion teaches you the history of the Bible also and I thought that that meant so much to me too, but thank you so much for this interview
I really enjoyed this interview. I have been a devout catholic my whole life. It’s all I’ve known. Listening to this makes me feel so grateful that I have never strayed away from the church. Throughout all the struggles in life growing up. I really believe that cloaked me with a special grace allowing me to never stray from him and the church and never really question who is was in my life.
At the 57 min mark, I could not agree more! so thankful for my Lutheran upbringing and literally Pentecostal/Baptist “born again “ experience in 1996 along with all the seriously wonderful protestant, pastors and experiences taught me to love Jesus and the Bible so much despite the very evangelical anti-Catholic stereotypes that came along. I think because of all that passion, I now have the most incredible appreciation of the fullness that the Catholic faith has to offer since being confirmed in 2023. Thank you Keith for all you do. Side note, I used to be a huge John Piper fan back in the day. Very grateful my parents have actually been very supportive, but I have lots of extended family members and friends. Quite frankly are not even interested in listening. It breaks my heart because it’s just so good ❤️ but God works in mysterious ways so we keep praying for unity in the Church as Jesus prayed 🙏.
Wow same here I'm a cradle Catholic was a lazy 1 at it around 15 started living with my dad, parents Were Catholic and divorced? I was a troubled teen. My dad didn't attend mass so I didn't either. 1 day on one of my long drives to work, I tuned in & listened to Charles Stanley ,Tony Evans. Adrian Roger's, Derek Prince, and I would tune in every day I started watching TBN & Daystar Then Pastor Joseph Prince, Joyce Meyers, Rabbi Schneider... i started going to Pentecostale invitations and some non denominational tent meetings , would attend street Evangelization, lots of yelling it wasn't till a best friend of mine Seventh day Adventist would not eat certain foods, would not do anything Friday evenings nor Saturday I was intrigued about what SDA Believe and I was shocked so I started to refute him SDA doctrines. Then JW and Mormons. Watching all the sermon, lectures, debates I could with like James White and other till I noticed they would debate Catholics listening and taking notes 📝 and praying I started to notice that I was missing out on the fullness of our faith. To rap it up I returned home to the Catholic church and my family now are protestantes. And they tell me I'm lost and to please get out. Prayers for them and all our family and friends who think the same.
Welcome Home sister. It is SO beautiful to have such a passionate love and gratitude for all of Jesus' most beautiful Church, The Father's plan for the world, and as for me most of my life. What saddens me is the hatred that a vast amount of noncatholic Christians have against Jesus's Holy Catholic Church😢
@@robertotapia8086Wow ❤ all things in God‘s time. So glad you made it back home to the Catholic Church and I will pray for your family! Jesus wants unity in His church 🙏 when I’m interacting with my protestant friends and family members, I try to remember where my heart was even a few years ago and how much patience the Lord had with me. I think the best thing we can do is pray for them, always be prepared to have an answer, and live our faith like Dr. Lacy and Keith.Nester ✝️ 🙏 🕊️
@@miamaria333Thank you and agreed ❤️🩹 it is as venerable Fulton Sheen once said “there are not 100 people in the world who hate the Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they think she teaches”. I just keep praying for soft hearts and truth to be revealed. I recognize for how long my own heart was there. I had good intentions, but very misguided, and God was so patient and faithful with me. When He finally broke through the pride and hardness of my heart, it has been the most beautiful and humbling journey of my life and I couldn’t be more grateful. I just want everyone to experience the fullness of the faith because it is so good.🙏 🍞✝️🕊️ 🩸
So blessed by this CF podcast interview by Keith Nester with Dr. Travis Lacy. So illuminating and inspiring to know about the truth and beauty of the One, Holy, Apostolic Catholic Church founded by and headed by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the Praise, Glory and Honor forever and ever. AMEN.
I've listened to many interviews and conversion stories since I converted to the Catholic faith two years ago after being a life-long Evangelical. This was one of the best, if not the best, interviews and conversion stories I've heard. Keith Nester's story was the first I heard and was very compelling. He did a great job interviewing Dr. Lacy. His comments and observations were so good and so right. May God bless them both!
They do, but let's not go overboard. Protestantism is like a mustard stain on a shirt, no matter how hard you try getting it out, you never can get it all out. I know converts to Catholicism who still retain some of the false teachings of the protestants. We must continue to pray for everyone.
I'm a Catholic and i love how Dr Lacy give credits to his friends and family. Lovely discussion, I'm blessed, may God continue to bless such discussion to give hope and grace to other. ❤
Like him, i also grew up charismatic protestant. My personal questions regarding the authority of the Protestant church leaders is what led me to take a theological Catholic university class, i was enamoured by the writings of Ratzinger, St Augustine, Iraneous, Aquinas.. Yesterday i walked into a Catholic Church for the first time. I want to share this good news, my questions and doubt were answered and the spiritual Divine Revelation i have experienced by just standing in the church, sitting at the very back.. I have never felt such a Holy presence of God like this before. Praise be to God. I am humbled to the process and experience. Thank you Jesus.
I have bachelors in English, I’m working on my masters in Theology. I have one more year left. Trying to troop through it as I raise my two year old son and in a couple weeks I give birth my daughter. I know it’s going to be tough but not impossible. May the Lord give me the strength and patience to make it possible to juggle everything.
Just remember that your first duty/responsibility is to the children. Never sacrifice your kids for work, education, etc. you can always go back later. You can never get that time back to raise your children. God bless!
As a Catholic living in Cherokee County, OK, I have found it challenging to connect with a Catholic community in this area. I am an Army veteran, an Irish immigrant, and now the proud father of nine who breeds draft horses on a 360-acre property. I allow Catholics from around the world to use my property, which has helped bring together a community of Catholics in my county. If you’re interested in being part of this community, feel free to email me. We are always looking to welcome new members. My family has maintained their Catholic faith despite the challenges we faced, including fleeing from the genocide in Ireland. We feel it is our duty to God to continue this faith after all, he gave our parents the grace to stay strong & even starve to death. 🙏🇮🇱😇🇻🇦📿🇮🇪😇🇺🇸🙏
Jesus welcomes you and me, when he return to claims the Glory over his creation, with the love of our lord Jesus Christ, may we be blessed in his Holy Namme
I recently started participating in an adult Catholic catechism class that our priest started (God bless him) and was blown away by how much I'd forgotten and how much I had no idea existed. Our faith is so much deeper and more vast than I had even imagined. Despite the church's flaws and the disturbing things coming out of the Vatican lately I can only repeat what Peter said "Where else would I go?"
Cradle Catholic with Catholic parents. Father left to become Pentecostal. So much strife and anger caused a crisis of faith and a time where I just stopped going to church! I've always felt the pull to deepen my faith and return to our Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church Jesus left us! During the covid restrictions I had the opportunity to do allot of conversion video watching and did Bible studies on TH-cam! These have helped bring me back to Jesus! Thank you Holy Spirit for guiding these wonderful people to help us in our times of trouble!
80 year old cradle Catholic here raised in the Baltimore Catechism. Everyday I struggle with Francis and his appointments, and everyday I ask myself “where else can I go?”
My dad had 5 children when he got his Master's Degree by correspondence. and moved us from Washington to Wisconsin to get his PhD in Nuclear Physics.. Number 6 was born during those 3 years and 7 and 8 came after he got hired as an Assistant Professor by the University of Oregon. I am the oldest and was 14 when my youngest brother was born. My dad being Catholic made all the difference in our family's size and I am so grateful for all my siblings. The ones who are most able to help our 94 and 95 year old parents, who have still been living in their home, are the youngest 5. I like to say, "...the kids most people never have!" I also say that about the youngest 4 of our 7, they made my dreams come true, of having a family band that sang and traveled!
Love listening to these ❤ I was a cradle Catholic, walked away and am coming back this fall. My husband decided to join me but we still have not told our church family and am nervous. Our church family consists mainly of cradle Catholics that walked away.
I resonate so much with this testimonial. I'm a recent Trad Catholic convert, from Lutheran and Baptist before that. So much Truth here. I wish all protestants would listen to this.
Going from conservative confessional Lutheranism (e.g. high church LCMS, chanting, incense, genuflecting, making the a sign of the cross, private confession, liturgy, a belief in sacraments, etc.)to catholicism or Orthodoxy is not much of a leap. Coming from Baptist/evangelicalism, it’s a much bigger leap because anti-Catholicism is so deeply ingrained, much more than any of the other protestant denomination. I think one of the best approaches when talking with Baptist/evangelicals is to challenge them on the sacraments.
Welcome Home Scott! Besides truth, the Catholic Church has many beautiful things to offer! The tradition of the Church is one of those beautiful things. As a Catholic, I would warn you to be careful of those claiming to be traditional Catholics. Who are rejecting the Holy Father, claiming that he is teaching heresy, etc... They are heading towards scism. Taylor Marshall was a convert who used to have a great channel. Now he is caught up in that mess, and I am afraid that he is leading people away from the Church! May God bless you and your family with many graces! 🙏
I don't understand why protestants lie about the Catholic religion. Being a Catholic all my life not once have I ever heard a priest say anything about the protestants. Non-catholics are told over and over lies about us. I wonder why all these other religions are so afraid of Catholicism !!!!
Thanks Keith! 😊🙏🏻 What a great testimony by Dr Travis Tracy. 😍😍 Watching here in the Philippines. Sadly, but it's true brother. I believe that most Catholic who leave their faith were the one's who have stopped believing in Catholicism’s teachings but in reality they don't studied their faith well. They are actually "cafeteria Catholics" who is typically defined as one who picks and chooses what Catholic teaching he wants to believe and choose which teachings (on faith and morals) to obey. But once you studied your faith well like you as Protestants before, there is absolutely one truth and one church founded by our Lord Jesus Christ. ✝️🙏🏻😇❤️
This was so good. As a current evangelical who regularly attends a non-denominational church, this man's upbringing and experience are very similar to mine. I've been exploring catholicism for the last year now. Reading books, watching so many videos, and listening to the catechism in a year podcast. I definitely feel the pull. But it is scary, and there are dogmas i still don't understand. I am looking forward to more of these stories.
I recommend RCIA/OCIA go to classes learn more about the faith. There is no pressure to join the church but learn about it. My wife a staunch anti catholic just went to classes to learn more about the faith and misconceptions. 4 years ago she came home. Lost alot of family and friends. But as she said "denying God and his treasures" would be like denying him face to face. She has loved discovering the many treaures of the faith. For her was euhurist, she researched euhuristic mircles and blew her mind. As the lord said "have faith and believe"...good luck will offer a novena for you and pray for you
I'm catholic for a year now. There's still so much for me to learn. But let me tell you it's the most wonderful experience. Never felt so at home and so at peace.
Olá, saudações do Brasil.
You don't understand them because you do not believe them. Crazy or deep? St Augustine of Hippo=Annaba, Algeria, and St Anselm of Canterbury said something to this effect: First believe, then you will understand. For me, I was aware that I prolly didn't even know all the dogmas so how could I possible know if I believed them or not. Eventually I was at the point where I had enough confidence that the Catholic Church had this treasure chest of jewels and I trusted it to lead me into all truth. All the best.🎉
I've been Catholic for 64 years. I love your rosary and your talks. Ha, they make me cry. Donating, but by check. Keep up the good work. These conversion talks give me hope that one day, my son-in-law will come on. Bless your heart, Keith.
@@KeithNestertalk about beautiful faith. What about Jesus? It’s always a faith or what we believe and oh WE HAVE THE FULLNESS of truth etc yet DONT have the Holy Ghost and twist and add words and meanings to the scriptures that are NOT THERE TERMINOLOGY not there Pope Mass Eucharist Genuflecting Etc NOT THERE
@@TriciaPerry-mz7tc you didn’t listen to this if don’t think we talked about Jesus. I get that you are confused, but there comes a point where you need to get over your anti Catholic prejudice and just listen. God bless.
@@KeithNesterit’s a mimic of Christianity. Jesus didn’t tell anyone to take Mary into their house and HE TOLD US NOT TO say prayers like that And if MARY IS IN HEAVEN and Jesus GOD SAID Don’t make images and do pictures of people and things in heaven or under the earth. So New Testament covenants ARE AGAINST SUCH PRACTICES and God doesn’t have a wife The Holy Ghost is the spirit of God and Mary is not God spouse 😢
Oh Tricia, you forgot Trinity and Purgatory! I will pray that you receive clarity and The Fullness of Truth and that we become more CHRIST LIKE in our thoughts, words, and actions. I recommend Early Church Fathers. Knowledge is power. God's peace❤@TriciaPerry-mz7tc
Find a Catholic Church, conservative preferably. Join the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation Adults) program. This allows you the possibility to explore the possibility of becoming a Catholic. To wish you were Catholic means you need to be!! I’ll pray for you to look into this possibility and find the one true home of the church!!!!
Amazing conversational. Informative, interesting, and educational. Also provided many answers for Catholics who may be questioning their own beliefs. Thank you . Looking forward to more discussions like this.
LOVED this interview!! So interesting to hear these conversion stories. As a cradle Catholic, I can tell you that I have been very inspired to learn more about my faith because of them.
I have to say this that it really takes a unique soul to understand and believe in the One Holy Apostolic Catholic Christian Church of Traditional Teachings and Worship,I’m elated and speechless to hear such testimonies from converts to the Catholic Church.Thank you so very very much Catholic Brother Keith Nester for your very capturing uplifting spirit moving videos keep up your resplendent good works God is with you and May he continue to bless you and your works abundantly Amen 🙏 alleluia Deo Gratis 🐑🕊️✨🔥
Thank you so so much for this inspiring, engaging interview ,Keith, as it affirms my Catholic faith even more thru my 76 years as a child of God Who calls me His beloved!
Man, the generosity and grace with which this man describes those around him was impressive. He is always speaking like a brother who loves his family in Christ, no matter who they are. This was a great interview. Thanks Keith.
Beautiful preaching from both of you. A lot of food for thought. My main takeaway at this moment is Dr. Lacy's observation that, for Protestants in general, hostility must be removed before there can be an understanding of what the Church actually teaches and does. That's very helpful to me right now. I've prayed 3 Hail Marys for each of you, for all your respective intentions. 🌹🌹🌹🙏🏻🌹🌹🌹🙏🏻✝️
This interview touched me to the core and it made me re- affirm my beliefs ( which lately had been tested and even made me doubt my faith in The Catholic Church teachings) “Not any more, after this… I am totally convinced that , this the real and true Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ and that, my beloved Parents, did a good job with introducing me to it and that thanks to them , I am in the right place and at the right time !! Thank you soo much to both of you and May The Lord Our God bless you both and Your families , always and forever and ever !! THANK YOU SO MUCH TO GOD ALMIGHTY AND TO BOTH OF YOU, FOF GIVING ME MY FAITH BACK !! ✝️🙏😌💙💙
this anti Catholic prejudice is profoundly toxic. It is replete in my own family. It is ignorance, pride, hubris, and intellectual dishonesty my relatives abide. Lord, convert their minds and hearts.
It's is intellectually dishonest to disregard the pre-Nicene Father's expressly giving testimony as to why believers are to keep Sabbaths & Passover etc & some of the how of what happened to the original church. The original Faith that was bludgeoned to death by what ended up being called Roman Catholicism occurred. Yes the universal Rome church is NOT the original Way of ACTS....it is Catholic (universal) in changing what the Apostles & Christ taught. Similarly it is intellectually dishonest to translate Colossians 2:16 to say the Feasts & food laws are irrelevant to believers in Christ when they are shadows of things TO come & future in Greek & the warning is NOT to be forced by men to follow traditions of Judaism that were heavy burdens of CONTROL that made God's Law of none effect. Protestant daughters are returning because they are ignorant like their root & enjoy the teaching of Nicolationism as standard operating procedure. Polycrates & Polycarp show the "mother RC church is a perversion of truth for personal power. The prophet Isaiah informs us what will happen in the New Heavens & Earth in Isaiah 66. Read Zachariah too. Maybe listen to Your Saviour who loves you more than any man. Read Matthew 5:17-22 & then Rev 14:12 or perhaps realise both Jew & Gentiles are grafted into the root to become the Commonwealth of Israel & the change to the Law of Moses is the earthly Priesthood....in offerings & sacrifices. Hebrews 8 & 10 show that. Maybe read Romans 3:31 & ask the Holy Spirit to teach you. Christ's Blood was offered in the Heavenly Temple to inaugurate the New Covenant... not Catechism of men. The Worship of YHVH is not from men's private interpretation. In Genesis the sun, moon were placed for Moeds IN Hebrew it means meeting understood by honest translators as Appointed times of WORSHIP. The 7th day 4th commandment identifies WHICH God you worship. Give value to the Creator & keep the Bikkurim First Fruits which is Christ rising after being offered on the Cross as an appointed time given to Israel ( God's people if they are spiritual sons of Abraham & believe God to keep his statutes commandments & judgements & be called righteous AND a friend of God. God SPOKE to Abraham face to face before Sodom & Gormorrah were destroyed but you wouldn't know that because of "Christian" & Judaism Jewish translation of the text. Unfortunately your brand of faith is like most who listen to the Nicolates & follow their commandments & know little of the significance of the ACTUAL Holy Calendar because they ultimately are working for the approval of men or worse because they despise God's Words just as the Pharisees. Look at the Inquisition & tell me in what way that resembles Christ's teachings? Seriously hope your eyes are opened & not to Protestant belief either. This is plainly spoken in strength & integrity of heart, hopefully for your benefit. Hopefully it stirs you to be a personal fact checker. Blessings
A lot of anti-Catholic hate in the US comes from years of propaganda demonizing immigrants, first from the Catholic Irish, then the Catholic Italians, and now the Catholic Mexicans. Freemasonry and Protestants founded the US, and they hated Catholics since the beginning. Freemason lodged and the kkk have tried to ban Catholic Schools trying to force Catholics to go to public school.
This was THE most enlightening, and deeply moving interview I have EVER seen!! Dr Travis Lacy imparted such grace to me through his words!! The very depths of my soul were touched!! I will rewatch this several times!! Thank you Keith, for this masterpiece of an interview!!! God bless you both!!
Your journey does seem soul searching as well as fact finding. You’re very frank and sincere about what you’ve experienced during your search for historical truth. Thank you for being willing to take a stand about your beliefs. We have 3 sons going through Hillsdale College. We are impressed and amazed at their spiritual and intellectual growth there. Also they become friends with some powerful young people, including future wives. We are encouraged at the young women coming out of Hillsdale College as well. Welcome home 🙏🏼
Dr. Lacy is from OK City, deep in the Bible Belt. My DIL is from Tulsa. She comes from a faithful family of Catholics. My son and DIL were married at St. Frances Xavier in Stillwater, in the old church (2017) before the new one opened. But when one thinks of OK, definitely one thinks of the Bible Belt. Same thing as Texas yet Dallas has a strong, vibrant Catholic community. Loved the interview, Keith, AND that studio…WOW!
It does now for sure. When I moved there in 89, there wasn’t even a Catholic radio station. I was baptized Catholic but had my life changing confession to Jesus while there at age 28. I was looking to learn as much as I could, and started listening to Protestant talk radio purely for lack of anything else. One attack after another on the Church sent me to search if what they said was true, every single time it wasn’t. I’m not sure that all those high powered Protestant preachers of the late 80’s would be happy to learn that they made me rock solid Catholic for life.
When you do a search for Traditional Latin Mass parishes in the US, Tulsa comes up. I don't know if the search results are current, but I counted FOUR parishes in or near Tulsa that offered the Mass of the Ages.. Not bad!
Amazing interview. I’m cradle dutch reformed (calvinist tradition), but Have been in a journey of softening and breaking down the same Protestant misconceptions Travis talked about. Up till recently I would have discussions with my mom about it, who fears me becoming catholic and sees it as idolatry. At some point we just said to not discuss it that much anymore and just keep praying for each other.
Being Catholic is all about love. Realizing God’s overwhelming love for us and out of that love, love overflows to others which is our neighbors, our brothers and sisters. Our life should be focused on serving our family, community and living in peace together. Letting go of ego and trusting God by following His will. Our sacrifices are love, because it is Him that all that matters especially if we are to serve and love Him back. The prayer devotions are to stay away from evil. It is for sticking with, and focusing on Jesus. The intercession of Saints is about the abundance of God’s love flowing from His beloved children.
Okie Native on my path toward Catholicism. This podcast has helped answer a few questions i have that i hadn't YET found the answer to... Thank you SOOO MUCH. God Bless you BOTH🙏😇❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
A wonderful Interview, thank you so much. I'm a convert to catholicism myself, and my journey was quite different, that's why I very much appreciate hearing about Travis' journey! God works miracles in many different ways, and he has his very own plan for each one of uns. This makes me very happy! Greetings from Germany!
I'm very conflicted about returning to the Catholic church because I will face a lot of opposition from lapsed Catholics who have been evangelical protestants for a long time. I'm married to a divorced man so I don't know where I stand in the Catholic church. Please pray for me.
Here, a Mexican Catholic, my admiration for many Protestants who seem to have lived the same as many martyrs at the beginning of Christianity, for faith in Jesus, they decided to lose their security of lifetime job and their family in order to follow the Truth. Wow!
Thank you very much for sharing your journey through rocky road. I thank the Lord for your patience and tenacity. Am a cradle catholic and never had to give up anything. God bless you and your work.
One thing that I've learned recently in our faith walk is that our authentic encounter with God is always in an ascending manner, not descending nor static. It always makes us experience something that makes us dive deeper into the sacred mysteries of God. I believe this will not end here on earth but will continue for all eternity in heaven. Nothing is static since God cannot be measured.
Im in love with my Catholic faith. I've always been. And as I get older, it's gets even better, always learning and it truly makes my heart happy. When you said "I can't explain it, I just have to show them"Jesus' teachings are my prayers for all❤
Loved this interview. Sadly, many cradle Catholics have turned away from Catholicism, not realizing the beautiful gift they had. I pray for members of my own family, caught in the trap of modernism, that they will be inspired to return. That they receive the wisdom to understand the beautiful saving grace found only in The Catholic Church.
I grew up as an Evangelical then while searching for truth I became a Mormon. I read St Thomas Aquinas and went to my Mormon leaders for help. Their answers to Thomism fell short and eventually I was received into the Catholic Church. I’m now a lay Dominican. When I was a Mormon I was reluctant to give offerings but I give freely to my Catholic Parish and to Dominican order. I think St. Augustine would agree that we are grateful to our Protestant origins. My childhood Baptist pastor made a truly great example for me to follow.
This was actually really insightful. Mt fiancee has no formal religion while his Grandma is hardcore Southern Baptist and she gets VERY angry when he and his kids come with me to church (I'm Catholic). She's already talked down to me about my religion because we don't believe the same things. I grew up Catholic and the only non Catholic friend i had growing up was Lutheran so i hadn't really gotten that kind of hostility towards my faith before. But what you said at 14:55 makes her hostility much more understandable to me. I really appreciate this explanation.
AUTHORITY! Bingo! You hit the nail on the head! Even as a Catholic, I had to come to the understanding of Authority. Once I did, everything else made sense.
Such an illuminating conversation about non-Catholic perspectives! My best friend was a wonderful, devout protestant who thought I stayed Catholic only because I was born one. Obviously, I was a total weakling to defend my faith to her, who I saw as practically perfect. When she died in 2017, after 45 years of friendship, my deepest sadness was never having revealed to her the true, good and beautiful of the Holy Eucharist (or of Our Blessed Mother. She has met Mother Mary now, though, and is surely still reveling in who She is!) Also, you two were discussing Catholics who convert to Protestantism are probably not deeply rooted in their faith. From my own experience, a Baptist boyfriend with whom our love for Jesus was our closest connection, did his best to convince me how totally wrong were my Catholic beliefs. By God's grace, his scriptural superiority could have won me over because of how much I loved him and admired his example, but instead led me to do my own biblical study of Catholicism, solely through the Mass's Biblical readings and its prayers, for a deeper understanding of the totality of the Church. I have an acquaintance who struggled mightily with her epiphany about Catholicism, although married to a Protestant minister. I'm sharing this interview with her today. Thank you so much, both of you!!! God bless and keep you within His Sacred Heart!!
My father in law is a Baptist minister and his wife (but not the mother of my husband's) is currently battling cancer. She asked us all to pray for her and I sent her the Divine Mercy and Sacred Heart chaplets and she politely thanked me but I know she probably just stow the cards away like Birthday or Christmas cards. One time years ago, she asked me about crucifixes and in my too-eager excitement, I bombarded her with information about rosary in a one minute 'spiel'. To my embarrassment, she didn't want to know about rosary, only why I asked for it in my birthday wish list. As cradle catholic, I feel so awkward around my husband's family and extended family members (I'm the only catholic). That's probably my biggest fail to be a window to the True Church for them because they are so on fire and I'm so timid.

This sounds like my conversion story! Once I made that mind/heart/soul switch to become Catholic, there was no looking back. Even though I knew I didn’t understand everything about the faith, I reasoned that either it’s ALL TRUE or NONE of it is true.
Similar, but I thought it was possible for Catholicism to have SOME truth but not ALL. If I could just find one doctrine they were wrong about (according to my all-wise opinion, of course), I could stay Protestant. Since all Protestants acknowledge that no one denom. has an absolute guarantee of inerrancy, not even their own, Catholicism would be no different (no better) than the rest of us. It was their claim to have the fullness of Christianity that was the sticking point. Once I became convinced of Apostolic Authority and a couple other key doctrines, the jig was pretty well up for me. I figured, if they’re right about THOSE, they’re going to be right about the rest.
A cradle Catholic here but it was Doctor Scott Hahn’s book ‘The Lamb’s Supper’ that opened my eyes to see what I had not seen before: the beauty of the Mass. And I keep learning more and more from our brilliant new Catholic brethren about my new faith. Feeling very thankful.
Great interview. May I see Dr. Travis Lacy in "The Journey Home" and maybe write his journey ala-"Rome Sweet Home". And please keep having this kind of interview/conversation. God bless us... 🙏
As a cradle catholic I have deep deep respect for our prot brothers and sisters who make their way home. They make some of the best Catholics. A lot of respect for this gentleman welcome home.
At about 53:00, I think this issue of familial turmoil due to Faith in Christ (and in this case fully embracing Christ's Church) is what Jesus was referring to when He said: “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person's enemies will be those of his own household." (Mathew 10 : 34-36).

Protestants make great Catholics
true, when they study the Christian faith and history.
Indeed they do! They bring a passion and a zeal that puts to shame a lot of Christian-lite Catholics.
Yes we do haha
Yeah when they want to become BLIND AND LOST
They do, but let's not go overboard. Protestantism is like a mustard stain on a shirt, no matter how hard you try getting it out, you never can get it all out. I know converts to Catholicism who still retain some of the false teachings of the protestants. We must continue to pray for everyone.

This was a great reminder that living our Catholic faith and really making it a way of life can bring others home.
As the lord said "have faith and believe"...good luck will offer a novena for you and pray for you
@empackmanmueller1725 thank you. I'm so green I don't even know ow what a novena is lol but I'll google it.

I am thankful for the great Catholic witnesses that helped them consider learning the beauty of our Faith.
Wonderful!

@@KeithNesterit’s a mimic of Christianity. Jesus didn’t tell anyone to take Mary into their house and HE TOLD US NOT TO say prayers like that
And if MARY IS IN HEAVEN and Jesus GOD SAID Don’t make images and do pictures of people and things in heaven or under the earth. So New Testament covenants ARE AGAINST SUCH PRACTICES
and God doesn’t have a wife
The Holy Ghost is the spirit of God and Mary is not God spouse 😢

I'm a Catholic myself but Dr. Lacy made me appreciate the Holy sacrifice of the Mass. Thanks so much to both of you. God bless.
Professor Lacy's disposition towards his Catholic friends, is mine towards my non Catholic boyfriend. I needed this humbling. Thank you!
I wish I was catholic ❤ I could listen to Keith all day long thank you Lord for blessing me with finding his TH-cam channel.

Can not wait for this!
Hello from Louisiana!
Thanks Keith for all you do!!
Hey Kim, Lafayette here!!
Dr. Lacy is intelligent, a man of Reason and truly inspiring!
That kind of thinking is completely confounding.
Amen!

Thank you! That means a lot.
@@JMJ.516you have the holy Catholic Church. You have 48,000 protestant CULTS

You are kidding right? What love do catholics have for protestants? The toxicity and hate they have toward others is crazy!

Great interview...It is the authority of the CC that caused my return to the CC after 25yrs in the Evangelical world
Excellent discussion with this smart, educated faithful young man. God bless him with his family❤🙏🏽
You’ll be fine.
Jesus will never turn you away. You got this!

Just take your time and pray to Christ to lead the way. You will know when you are ready.
This was Absolutely Beautiful! Fr. Chris Alar would be so proud you both!!
Welcome home Professor. May Lord Jesus bless you and your family. Thank You Jesus. Praise The Lord. Amen.
Im in love with my Catholic faith. I've always been. And as I get older, it's gets even better, always learning and it truly makes my heart happy. When you said "I can't explain it, I just have to show them"Jesus' teachings are my prayers for all❤
Mesmerizing and inspiring! Thank you, Keith and Travis.
God Bless you Keith 🙏🏻 Dr T,Lacy’s Thank you for sharing,( The truth will set you Free)
This is so cool!! Thanks for sharing this story. I also converted as an adult God is Good
What a beautiful interview! You are an intelligent person! Above of prejudice.
Really enjoyed this. Thanks! As a convert myself I found this resounds in many ways.
Thanks for a great dialogue Gentlemen. Happy New Year. Wishing the best for you both and your families!
Thanks for your fantastic videos Keith. Thanks a lot
Wow, thanks for your testimonial, I love it, I wish I will come strong as you're in Faith
May Lord Jesus bless you and your family. Amen.

wonderful converstion with an awesome catholic! Thank you
This sounds like my conversion story!
Welcome home!
Awesome interview thank you Keith

And please keep having this kind of interview/conversation.
