I have the Nextbase 322gw, the Nextbase app worked fine for me not jerky or anything weird. I was able to review videos on the mobile app. I never get disconnected or thrown off the app. I recommend people getting the 322gw over the 522gw save money. Its better to record at 1080p 60fps over 1440p 30fps. Those extra 30 fps makes a huge difference when you want to review videos in slow motion.

Having brought a few cheap devices like a watch that caught on fire and a dashcam that produced a video format nothing else could read. I found the best thing about buying a quality product like the Garmin is the software works the cheap products always come with questionable software which is really frustrating. This was the BEST review of dashcams on youtube really well done and tells you what you need to know. 5 Star review.

Nice review. I do have to say that you contradicted yourself saying the Garmin didn't have a suction cup mount and can't be moved from car to car. When unboxing the Garmin, there were two magnets in the bag so that it would be very easy to move it between two cars. Just sayin'.

    • @theproshopper
      @theproshopper  ปีที่แล้ว

Yes that's true. But its still only 2 of them and once you place them they are hard to remove. I more meant that it can't be moved and repositioned as much as you need across many cars like If you work at a dealership and drive different cars often.

This video review is better than other so called “reviews” because it includes some pros and cons of each unit. That’s the basis for a real review as opposed to the salesman videos other people like to falsely mask as reviews.
Still, this video could be far better by following a better structure and actually paying far more attention to the core of what these cameras do: quality of video. Here is a framework; what is the quality of:
    1) video output
    - resolution
    - sharpness
    - FPS options
    - color accuracy
    - dynamic range
    - low-light sensitivity
    - day/night mode quality
    - video noise reduction
I guess this is where the bulk of a review would be. In an event you want to be able to identify as many details as possible (license plate #, face of driver, debris, etc) with as much clarity as possible under as many conditions as possible (day, night, sun against the camera lens, fog, snow/rain, high speed, bumpy road, etc.) If the dash cam doesn’t give you good results there is no point in anything else about it. What would be a worst-case scenario? Maybe a high-speed collision on a foggy night on a not-illuminated country-side road?
    2) camera features
    - image stabilization
    - recordable media
    - video output options (format, quality, etc)
    - lens aperture
    - lens angle
    - sensor type
    3) interface ergonomics
    - easy/confusing/useless
    - button layout
    - install (easy/complicated)
    - cop mode (rotate camera to driver’s window)
    4) expandability
    - front/rear/driver
    - accessories (included, or paid, useful or not)
    - power options
    5) connectivity & sensors
    - wired / wireless (types)
    - PC/smartphone options
    - voice activation
    - collision detection
    - GPS options
    - sentry (parking) modes
    5) build quality
    - materials, construction quality
    - usable temperature range
    - out of the box feel
    - short term user experience
    - long term durability
Reviewing is not reading the manufacturer’s spec sheet, reviewing is analyzing, comparing, and contrasting the quality of features amongst competing products and actually putting the spec sheet to the test to see if the manufacturer’s claims are true. And then producing a thorough pros and cons of each product.

I own the Garmin 46 and a Garmin Mini. I used to have the 45 but stopped working. I guess that will happen after a while. I figure the extreme hot and cold of Chicago finally does it in. Anyway, I had a situation where a dirty cop stole my property. I was able to prove it cause of the dashcam. It wasn't a Garmin but Falconzero which no longer exist. It was a good camera. They also made one that fit over the rearview mirror but that one never worked right. Anyway, the record light indicator wasn't a noticeable in that particular camera. I guess he figured it was on so he did what he did. He got a 9 day suspension. His partner got a 4 day suspension, the sergeant got a 5 day suspension. I figured if all that was unpaid I saved the City of Chicago about $7000 or $8000.

I had 2 different Next Dash cams. 322 which last 2 days and the 622 which lasted a week. 622 is amazing for video dealing with direct sunlight and at night. I really liked it but the power supply that runs via the cigarette lighter port just burned them out quick. I’d think it was the lighter port in my hybrid Camry 16 but after having Garmin RV camera and gps, iPhone 13 pro max, Apple Watch and IPad Pro 2021 all running in both cigarette lighter connections I must have gotten Next Base dash cams with crappy power supplies built inside. I really wanted to keep it, but getting bad power supplies and knowing you have to call freaking England for customer support just ruined my experience wanting one.
Garmin has been good and they have customer service here in the US so I guess I will give them a shot.

I disagree with the reviewer as I use Nextbase 622gw. The larger screen with extreme weather and night view enhancement will allow you to avoid problems as you come upon sudden fog. Who cares about analysis after the accident, what is more important is to avoid accidents. Although the 3 inch screen is still small, it is a great help when suddenly you are blinded by mist or fog.

No word at all for the GPS option..., the polarized filter in Next base...
From that presented cameras, the NextBase seems best as video. I personally use mini0807 with custom firmware.
It is small as size, have embed GPS data in the video frames and has 2 SD card slots and.. most of all super capacitors instead of battery. Bought at some point Xiaomi 70 with GPS, but there the GPS suck, and the video have base for improvement. Still, mini 0807 I bought for 75e/80$ and Xiaomi for about 85e/90$ what is way better than 250$.
And if compared to size camera, Blackvue is about same price as garmin..

The windshield in my motor home is perfectly vertical, and I have been through two cameras already that have a suction cup mount that is actually behind the lens, meaning if I mount them to the windshield the camera lens hits the windshield and the camera must be pointed at the dash which doesn't work. Thanks for the feedback. I'm trying to keep peoples attention and this has been the best performing video I have ever made across 3 TH-cam channels.

Touching the camera is technically illegal? 🤣 Be honest! You just didn't like the Amazon camera...

How he used the camera for 2 weeks and everything still in their plastic BAGS! WHAT a LAIR. Now if you really used them for 2 weeks then no reason to put them back in the BAGS. Did you really use them or not?

I did use them for a while. You can see the dust and bubbles on the plastics when unboxing. I guess I'm just good at repackaging items!
