Big fan of drums, elk and goat and everything you said about music in this interview is everything I ever wanted to hear you say ! Got to represent on Melody !
@@devoratrixultima and this is what makes me sad actually. I've just watched a video on this topic today th-cam.com/video/K0Vn9V-tRCo/w-d-xo.html Electronics & techno are such genres that are really poor in good melody and harmony. Good rhythms and sound design - yes, maybe. But these songs have no personality, it is rather the music of mood and energy. So it will never become a classic even if an artist becomes a legend. And in my humble opinion, such music will become popular only because of the public demand (for a beautiful picture, acute social topics and a disco/reive-suitable beats), so just good production and marketing, not because it's objectively a good music with deep lyrics and rich-composed melody.
@@devoratrixultima yeah, to be honest, I just don’t like such music. It's easy for me to understand Rock or Pop (The Beatles; The Cure; Ariana Grande), Jazz or Rock&Roll (Ella Fitzgerald; Little Richard), Nu Jazz, Funk, Post Punk, Hip Hop, Rap, House, Soul, Electronic Pop, R&B, Grunge, Metal, Shoegaze, EDM, Folk... - I listen to a bunch of different genres, and each song from my playlist has its own personality created by melody, harmony, tempo, lyrics and message. But techno songs cannot be distinguished from each other, because usually their sound is based on noise or/and mediocre vocal over a cyclic looped beat; often it's just noise and beat - th-cam.com/video/nyh4kFjlsQU/w-d-xo.html. I can't imagine it being played on the radio and everyone was listening to it... Of course, in the future, I think, techno will have more fans, but for this, artists should experiment more, improving vocal quality and making the sound more melodic, clear and understandable. Thus, experimental electronics has potential, but so far it only catches a mood and has no charisma to catch a soul. I mean, I would enthusiastically rave to it on the dance floor, but in free time I would listen something more clear and familiar. "PC Music" genre right now is like an embryo of energy and idea, still with the raw sounding. Just my opinion. If you wanna argue, send something interesting here as an example of a great music and I'll check it out. I haven't yet met anything beautiful in techno, will be glad to hear.
i love you jonny, and im glad to have seen this vid, and have a new view of all the stuff you like, love your music and the shit u have done till now...lol , just keep going :L
0:51 This is the backstory to "Book of Revelation". Listen to the lyrics. It says a lot about religion and believing in love itself to be the purest beyond religion. Kind of like the guy from Neon Trees. I believe he's Mormon.
It’s always interesting how ppl get up in arms when ppl who aren’t the typical long hair, neck beard type wear metal band tees. Also, Deicide isn’t like Metallica- you’d have to actually search for a Deicide shirt. So I’d imagine Johnny didn’t just see this random band tee and thought it was fashionable.
aflliction It may be because Blink 182 have been a bit 'frat boy' attitude and at times which is obvs not Jonny's look or style, However they have crafted some catchy songs with cool guitar sounds and beats, with some sensitive dark lyrics, emotional singing he might appreciate too. Saddest Summer is IMO the most classic Blink 182 sounding song, particularly the way he sings the chorus
To be fair Johnny didn't say he didn't like them right? I think he just said he listens to them but doesn't like to admit that lol. Idk tbh I just skimmed the interview bc johnny can drag on sometimes after you've seen all his other interviews. I love blink though, they are a instrumentally quite similar to the drums in some ways
It amazes me that humans can have such a variety of tastes in music. I would flatly say that every song Björk has produced is garbage. I don't understand how people can perceive her as the queen of Icelandic music.
The Drums changed my life, Portamento is my favorite album ever 😭❤️
Portamento is art 🥺
Same😄
HIS VOICE
He is speaking voice is so distinctivly different than his singing voice.
Big fan of drums, elk and goat and everything you said about music in this interview is everything I ever wanted to hear you say ! Got to represent on Melody !

Wow. What was it like to meet her?
Ommmgg, that was also my first love and CD. Bjork opened up the world for me. Hidden place is the song of my life
Johnny Pierce is my spirit animal.

Arca is the future of music
Nah, her music is still for a narrow audience

i love him so much 🖤😍
i wish he could come back to 🇨🇱
I like hearing him speak
Arca only added beats and some production to Vulnicura near the end of its recording. He and Björk co-produced her newest album, Utopia.
i love you jonny, and im glad to have seen this vid, and have a new view of all the stuff you like, love your music and the shit u have done till now...lol , just keep going :L
loved this
su voz bendice mis oídos
Amen! Bjork is a goddess! Homogenic is work of a genius I think that us introverts and those who wear our hearts on our selves are drawn to Bjork.
LOVE!!
This dude looks like a cobra kai
Arca is Venezuelan, not Argentinian.
Honest mistakes
Björk & Arca❤💖💕💓💗💞

First I've heard of this, regarding Bjork, but maybe she wasn't a prime influence on Johnny in the context of The Drums.
Björk is def a game changer.
Mars Volta MGMT and 4 yrs strong
0:24 bragging about his music taste
Just for the record: Arca is from Venezuela.
Does Jonny actually like Decide? hmmm
I too hope to know this one day
Í feel so identified with his taste in music, a genius
Arca is venezuelan!
1:02 same I am not but I am Christian but yeah
did he just said arca is from Argentina? girl, that's offensive. he is from Venezuela
blatant homophobia
Jonny opening up to fans: th-cam.com/video/vvrx075jeas/w-d-xo.html
He looks so tired in this
Hoarse voice
Wonder does he actually listen to deicide -_-

Probably. He is wearing their shirt.

Why the fuck you don't like blink ? i love the drums and i love blink 182 at the same time.
