    emily and ed doing the “what’s that in your mouth? stop chewing and give me that, let me put my hand in your mouth” dog owner routine with an ALLIGATOR requires some trust, man poor rex :(

      I was looking after a dog about 2 years ago, and on a walk, he picked up a discarded nappy (diaper for Americans) which someone had decided to leave in the middle of the field. I managed to trick him into dropping it with food before shutting him in a different room, because I didn't want my hands to be that involved with some random child's poop

      Your cat eats plastic too? My cat, Elim, loves to chew on plastic shopping bags. I had resolved this by going reusable, but with the pandemic, I've had to switch back. At least it forces me to put away everything as soon as I get home.

    The fact you immediately contacted and went to a vet for a potential ingested item is just, yes. The number of people who watch and know their pet has eaten something and wait until their animal is near dying from a blockage is far too high. No your dog will not just "pass" those socks.

Instead of an IV drip they just injected a lot of Saline under his skin (he’s got a lot of extra skin, just never fully grew into it and he’s still pretty young and a little wiry) so we decided to call him a “gusher” until it dissipated, he was not pleased.

    Im a vet tech and it makes me so happy how you treated the situation. I see people all day who have nasty attitudes and you seemed absolutely perfect. I cant believe you even went to a college to help other people learn aswell. Its a very unique opportunity that most people dont get and you offered that. You are amazing!!!! Also the way the vet staff were nice enough to record for you is so cool too. I know how hard some days in the veterinary medicine field can be so that request might have just brought something fun to their day.
    Thanks for being great!!! And love your videos

    It makes sense that the plastic wouldn't be an issue, especially considering they regularly digest bone. Which is significantly harder and I would assume requires almost like an iron clad digestive system to process it.

    • @aebbingeable
      @aebbingeable 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Well, bones can be digested and plastic cannot be digested so it makes sense to be worried about. The way bone is digested is with enzymes and acid and stuff

    Fun My Pet Ate Something They Shouldn't Have Story: My cat ate a balloon string once and started 'passing' it. We then had to cut the string that further protruded from her butthole every time she pooped until it was all the way gone. Good times.

      @@ZoeHarris6bbv5kp3 Yeah, but when your cat has a piece of tinsel* coming out of her, then gets a leaf stuck to it and she's panicking because the leaf keeps brushing against her legs and she can't escape it... sometimes you have to make a judgement call. I was gentle and if I'd felt ANY resistance I'd have immediately stopped.
      *She'd gotten into some very old Christmas decor, and while I took it out of her mouth as soon as I discovered this, it was apparently already too late. I'd noticed the tinsel and let her outside hoping that eating some grass would get her to finish passing it uneventfully.
