I didn't get the privilege of knowing Freddy as well as I should have. Always made plans of meeting back up with him in various different towns and a lot of the time we were only a few hours apart but just going in different directions. The time that I did spend with him meant a lot to me and he was actually a great inspiration. I'll never get the opportunity to tell him how much sitting down and playing some old country and folk tunes meant to me.
I filmed this back when I first heard the news and had to keep trying to re-record it because I kept breaking down and crying in the middle of playing it. I was busking outside of a discount store when I made this video and I actually got a Hondo kick from a guy that saw me crying 😅 So thanks for the hundo kick Freddy. That night I bought some beer and some Taco Bell, enough for us both. (we drank and almost got kicked out of a Taco Bell the first time we met).

This story helps me. I can relate. I’m not homeless but my life stays at the same level financially because I panic when I start saving money and settling down to meeting my potential. It gives me a panic attack so I run away from the present moment. I’m terrified of committing to my own future and potential. It’s amazing to think what would be possible when if we just stay and don’t run.
