    This rivals “Raptor’s Revenge” and your videos on Wolf 359 and the Battle of Sector 001 as my favorite of your videos. I never get tired of hearing this story. And I love what you did with the character of K’Chang. He, like Martok and Worf, I think presents an example of what a Klingon warrior should be and could become: a true, noble warrior, willing to give his life to defend those who cannot defend themselves

    Imagine fighting a commander who has the tactical acumen to plan ahead, but who is also utterly unafraid to take casualties in execution of said plan. You can never be sure if whatever damage you inflict on their forces isn't "just as planned" and you aren't going to eat sh*t soon as a result.

    That was another fantastically awe4some and brilliantly magnificent gem of a new addition in your battles of the dominion war series. Not at all surprised, that with decent leadership, military ships and manpower adequately tactically deployed to make best use of a fortress world defence, combined with motivation of preventing the enemy from getting within striking distance of home and holding a world, they spent blood to try and take in the past. Gave the klingons right incentive and strategy to destroy and inflict a very bloody nose and horrendous defeat on the dominion. As the old adage of never push to the pink skins to the pale ice, can be just as easily applied to the klingons in this battle.

    Very good description of the battle. If I may add an additional post action report. Commander Rochelle Denolli had heard reports of the Battle of Arcadia. She was acting captain of the Nightingale, an Oberth class starship used to transport medical supplies. She had worked with Klingons before and had many meetings with Klingon doctors herself being one. She knew the situation was desperate and wanted to help, unfortunately Starfleet command did not want to risk sending help into a volatile situation. She therefore convinced another Dr Commander Deckland commander of the Uss Salk a starfleet medical ship to join her ship and try to reach the Arcadia system to bring medical supplies to the Klingons. Knowing they would be outnumbered and outgunned Denoli secretly tried to enlist frontline captains to help her. She found a kindred spirt in Captain Paul Linden of the Starship Avenger. a nebula class vessel. After hearing her pitch, Paul the grandson of Sam Linden who had been brainwashed by an alien entity in the TOS episode And the Children shall Lead, pauses for about 30 seconds before wholeheartedly agreeing. Now joined with the Uss Venture a Galaxy class ship and 7 modified runabouts they make their way to the Arcadia system....without Starfleet authorization. Things seem to go well as they enter the system.... until they encounter a Jem'hadar squadron fleeing the battle with the Klingons. Linden initially panics....but that passes in even less time than his decision to join this unsanctioned venture and quickly organized a battle plan using the runabouts as a screen to engage the five Jem'hadar fighters and their cruiser as the two capital ships lay down covering fire with the support ships hanging back. The tactic is at first successful against the damaged squadron as two of the fighters are destroyed and another is disabled. Unfortunately the cruiser though having suffered heavy damage is putting up a fierce fight. Just as Linden is considering retreat having taking full responsibility for this foray and not wanting any fatalities three birds of prey decloak and join the battle destroying the remaining jem'hadar forces. The Klingon squadron commander K'thoth questions Linden about why Starfleet would authorize such a force and not inform the Klingons of its arrival. Linden looks at Cmdr Denoli on a split viewscreen and simply answers " that's because Starfleet did not authorize it" . K'thoth has a hearty laugh " Well well a Starfleet officer who does not go "by the book". After explaining it was Denoli's idea K'thoth thanks her as the medical supplies were sorely needed. He then personally escorts them to Arcadia V

    Janus would have been SUCH a pain in the side for the Jem Hadar. The Horta can be down right nawsty, almost impossible to detect, fast, and able to carry out ambushes, then vanish into solid rock digging and colapsing tunnels, they could hover near the surface, undetcatable to sensors, but feeling the vibrations and footfalls of the jem hadar... and with a quick pounce, and acid spray, that was it.
    these creatures could have held a gorilla war for months, or years... and even planetary bombardment wouldn't stop them as all they would do is moved deeper into the planets crust and wait.

Yes they can pass for crystal, dylthium, or such depending on their preferred habitat.

    I get why most countries on Earth have defense forces and defense ministers, but I really would have expected the Klingons to have either offense forces or simply forces. They aren't big on defending, even if only for public relation reasons.
    In fact, I would expect a pacifist faction of the Klingons to call their armies and fleets "offense forces" for PR, instead of it being the other way around on Earth rn.

    Brilliant choreography as always. Only complaint is the k'tingas firing that red beam out of its torpedo launcher, thought that was a dumb VFX decision for over 20 years now! Not only is it the wrong color, it totally less cool than the 6 or so small to medium cannons it should be fireing.

      so i'm going to do a shipchat soon on the Ktinga dominion war Refit. there are good reasons for it that i won't spoil. just bear in mind the Ktinga's age it cannot fight it the way it did 100 years before.

      @@venomgeekmedia9886 But the Brel, thats like a 90 years old design, can? These designs are evergreen, with regards to klingon technology, nothing about the them seems to limit upgradability. in 2370 a ktinga might not be considered a heavy battlecruiser any more, but a properly modernized one would be a pretty capable light cruiser, an equivalent to a 2370 excelsior class in combat rating.

      @venomgeekmedia9886  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dontdrunkimshoot8220 so your kinda right in that the BOP is a scout and that doesn't change. But I have to disagree with the ktinga being on the same level as excelsior given that its half the size. So it's nowhere near excelsior it's more comparable to a miranda which saw drastic demotion over time.

    • @dontdrunkimshoot8220
      @dontdrunkimshoot8220 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@venomgeekmedia9886 Well, even a miranda is 1.5 times the volume of a ktinga, an excelsior is like 5.5 times the size lol.
      But the excelsior was designed to be a general purpose deep space explorer with the cargo capacity to store enough fuel and provisions to go years without visiting a friendly port. klingon ships are purpose built to do battle, carry marries, and resupply every few weeks. Maybe 20% of the average federation ship's mass could be said to be combat oriented, wile something like 80% of a ktinga's mass is devoted to guns, armor and power generation. The federation's technological advances did much to render ship designs from the 23rd century obsolete and unupgradable beyond a certain point, compared to designs of the ambassador's age or newer, that does not seem to be the case for the klingons at all. Its all fundamentally the exact same tech, only better and more powerful. An excelsior without so much as proper beam arrays is going to lose ground compared to a gunboat like the ktinga after 80 some odd years of refits imo.

    • @venomgeekmedia9886
      @venomgeekmedia9886  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dontdrunkimshoot8220 ok so the base model excelsior had a loadout of 6 torpedo launchers 3x that of the ktinga it has 16 phaser batteries on the saucer alone 2x that of the ktinga... i know which i'd put money on. this is 23rd century starfleet which not only expects fights, but anticipates facing races and entities far more powerful than they are.
      also i think you've got the doctrines confused, starfleet is constantly refitting and modifying old designs for the Klingons they don't care so long as its good enough. the BOP of the dominion war is pretty much unchanged from the 23rd century; however it is its use that has changed and similarly for the ktinga (apart from the lance phaser) its otherwise the same as its 23rd century counterpart but its changed role.

    Dominion Vorta: "They're RETREATING!"
    Dominion fleet launches assault and is ..........cut to pieces by "Alliance" square formation.

    I really think Cardassian ships should take care of 2 vortas pretty easily. The firepower of Galors is said to be pretty high. The Galors are more primitive than federation vessels, but they shouldn’t of been so badly beaten by the Klingons except plot reasons.

      That is also confusing, since according to Madred, Cardassian children are given intense education and war theory. I suppose Klingons have more experience since we don’t know what kind of wars Cardassia had before. Fighting Bajor didn’t teach them anything.

    sometimes the best offence is not the best defence.
    the Klingons always were slower to respond to any threat in large force, you would likely run around a few brels or something but the Klingons have their main strength lie in the clans and deactivated vessels which obviously takes time and effort to restore especially seeing that the Klingons don't seem like the type of people to properly upkeep their ships, the main bulk of the KDF is like the vast amounts of deactivated and decommissioned ships the US navy has.
    the fact that they also don't respect defensive emplacements would make me think that they also lack any sort of defensive structure meaning their tactics would be extremely outdated like you display.
    also just quickly I always find it funny that its called the Klingon DEFENCE force, like really?

    • @venomgeekmedia9886

      because klingon Offence force was a bit too spicy. but of course if was bourne out of post Kithomer reforms which probably saw the fleet reduced drastically with hundreds of ships going into mothballs like a lot of Soviet tanks.
