Typical overpriced ruins, despite it having potential. It is a shell with many original features no longer there and the shell is in a deplorable state. 1.2m euros is ridiculous. Maybe 300-400k depending on how much land. That will easily soak up 1m just to get it half decent

I was thinking the same... $30k just to dump run, salvage, and pressure wash, brush hog the landscape... Clean the walls, all the mosaic tile $$$? Railings, it would need historical pictures to get it halfway decent. This is a several year project. $1million isn't so far fetched. There is absolutely no character in any of the "rooms" and the basement could easily kill the whole thing.

It has a lot of potential, but for the amount of work needed, I’m not sure it is worth the listing price.
Especially for Portugal which is very poor.

Could be a stunning house with at least 1.5 million spending on it and that's just the house landscaping on top of that and don't forget all the Hiden extras and then you have to furnish it I'm also wondering if the house is listed i do think the house is a bit expensive for what needs doing to it I just wish I had the money 💰💰👍👍😁🇬🇧
thanks for commenting. Besides this mansion there is a large area of land with two more houses included in the purchase. The best thing is that no one else can build on the side for being a protected area

The building is not entirely original, it needs considerable work. (Which would be futile given the condition and lack of original architecture). Value is less than 300K as current building is worthless and would be more costly than starting with just a plot of land. The wealthy owners know this and are just looking for a "fool".

The most beautiful Estate. Just don’t understand how people sneak inside and destroy such a beautiful piece of history. I am sure there is a story who lived there, and who had the most amazing taste. Unfortunately the rails are gone, who knows if they can be replaced with what was there. Tile work is incredible . I wish someone buys this beauty soon for a reasonable price since so much renovation has to be done 🙏🏻. Don’t forget to built a guest house and have guests to share the magnificence of the Villa and the property.

It is not clear from the english description if the 690,000m2 is included in the sale price...(which is in fact 69 Hectares of woodland). If the property is still available are there any restrictions that a potential buyer needs to consider before purchasing?. Personally speaking I think 1.2 million Euros is an optimistic Sale price BUT I would be interested to learn if a more realistic price could be agreed?.
the value refers to the entire area of land with great potential and another house on the land that cannot be shown in the video, its extensive area of land and forest. An area like this near the beach is nowadays no longer permitted by law. This property is allowed as part of the old building law plan

I agree this house is not worth 1.2 million. MAYBE 300,000 MAYBE. I could buy a Chateau in southern France in better condition with it's original features for between 300,000 and 500,000. This is a shell. You would have to pour another 500,000 at least to get it back into shape.

THIS HOME MUST HAVE BEEN A BEAUTIFUL HOME AT ONE TIME. THE HOME LOOKS FOR THE MOST PART STRUCTURELY SOUND. THE SAD PART IS THAT IT WILL TAKE AND ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY JUST TO RESTORE THE INSIDE AND OUT. THERE IS ALSO UPGRADING AND REPLACING THE INFRASTRUCTURE AND LANDSCAPE. A casa se valesse no máximo metade do que os donos pedem, talvez encontravam compradores. Apesar do terreno e do palacete ter o seu encanto, há que considerar muitas obras (sem sequer saber o estado do interior com as ruinas e o vandalismo) e toda a mobilia... Resumindo, a casa cairá em pedaços se não baixarem o preço

there are some years that nobody lives in the house and this has been the case since that time. It belongs to a wealthy family and the construction of the house was a whim that never really got to be finished and today the owner is old. In today's times it would be impossible to build on that place for license reasons
Good luck getting that price, so much has been damaged.
When videoing to sell a property, why does the person filming at times move the camera so fast that the scenery cannot be focused upon. In other words the person watching this video is getting dizzy at not being able to focus on part of the video even for ten seconds?

@@billieford9683 Yes I agree , would like to see this place in its glory days , this estate would make a great hotel or bed and breakfast , good location and so on , just need the price to be lower to do all renovations needed .. Portugal for a smaller land mass country sure has a lot of locations to live at different price ranges but where ever location you choose to live you will not be far away from traveling to the rest of the country, less time traveling around and more time enjoying all of what Portugal has to offer.... cheers Billie :)

Not sure it is worth the listed price. You'd find many properties that size and stature, with similar land for half that price, in France and Italy. The restoration will leave the property way over capitalised.

For that price it is very expensive, consider finding another 1.2million euro more for all the works, this palace have at least 80years, huge works. Why build a palace at an isolated place, the person who wish to buy this palace must be an arabe prince the most least.. everything need to be done, after the building, comes the land
The heirs or the municipality must hand layed blocks in all the opening so that to prevents act of vandalism which are obvious in the making of this video, certainly, no doubt, this building is huge..

I'm not surprised that it hasn't sold. Anyone with experience of restoring old buildings (properly), can see that it will cost almost as much to restore as the asking price of the property, making it too far too expensive, as once restored, the property will not be worth the approx. 2.5 million Euros needed to bring it back to life. If the asking price is at least halved, it will sell to someone who wants to make it a home. To attract anyone looking at it as an investment, the price will have to be reduced by much more than half. Whoever owns the property at the moment knows this, which is why they are selling, rather than improving it themselves.
