    Once you've found how to set it up correctly, this pedal is awesome for the price. The gate is nice and the small, compact size is very handy. Very versatile once you know that you should tame that damn treble knob ^^ I've coupled this pedal with a Holy Grail Reverb pedal from EHX as well and it's pretty sick!

    Thanks for the great testing of this pedal ! I needed to know how it sounds with the distortion at zero and you’re one of the few who has demonstrated it properly

    Thanks man, cool demo of this pedal. I like the fact that you put it in front of the amp AND in the effects loop to show the contrasting impacts this has on the overall sound. Rock On !

    Thanks for this man here i got my nano pedal, which is imo better than regular muff with Top Boost (which i like). Why i choose this nano over the regular? Its bcuz of built in noise gate

    • @MadSteex
      @MadSteex  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the noise gate is an huge plus!

    Hi, I also have the pedal and I went exactly like you. At the FX return it just sounds better.

    Thank you so much for this demo. I don’t think it’s so much of a good pedal for doing metal but I think it sounds good for doing like classic 1980s hard rock.

      It for sure works for 80s hard rock/heavy metal, especially with the gain rolled back at 9 o'clock or so. But it works well for more extreme metal too. I own a top boost version so it's pretty much the same thing and with the gain at 3 o'clock and cranked clean amp (I use a Boss Katana acoustic channel) with the presence knob rolled back it sounds pretty heavy, especially with lower tunings. With all these things combined the pedal really sounds brutal.
      Maybe it's the amp he's using, but through the ones I used the muff part of the pedal is much more apparent, making it a bit too filthy for hard rock when the gain is up.

    Is the noise gate broken if it never lights up on my pedal?

    • @MadSteex
      @MadSteex  ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe something disconnected to the led, or broken light. does it work properly anyway?

      @@MadSteex Ok so I took out the battery and run it corded, put noise gate to 10 o'clock and now light works! I assume it doesn't kick in until there, which is strange...

    Question about the gate. Does it also gate the other pedals placed before it?

    • @MadSteex
      @MadSteex  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it gates the distortion of the pedal itself

    Just had this pedal given to me. Any advice on how to set the eq for a really good “modern” metal tone?

    • @MadSteex
      @MadSteex  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do not use high treble position if you use it like a pedal in front of the amp, will destroy your ears. Open the Mids to 6/7
