Jay, your quiet charisma truly comes through. I appreciate your down to Earth personality and wish I could sometimes be a bit more chill like you, because I'm really all over the place sometimes. Thanks for being here.
"I don't think I have charisma." Well, you can stop right there. Because you certainly do! (Also, your lack of cuts is exceptional // chef's kiss articulation and video structure)
What I love about your videos is how it’s one take, and a clearly well planned and executed delivery of a strong idea. That takes a lot of work and effort to make it look so simple.
charisma doesn’t come naturally to me, so I pay close attention to charismatic people, and i reckon there’s an extra one: They are willing to take social risks. eg teasing someone (within reason) or saying something a bit dark or rude. the people who speak as if they are perfect angels are often met with suspicion, and it’s reassuring when someone is the first to admit that they aren’t a saint. Casey Neistat doesn’t come across as a bad person, but he’s not “nice” either. There’s a brash confidence that I think often signals confidence. “This is me, I’m honest and if you don’t like it, that’s ok”
When you ACTUALLY want to help, it's the actual charisma. When people try to fake it, it goes wrong. I can easily tell when somebody is trying to look authentic, or he's actually authentic. It's not something to be fakes. If you don't want to help people in your video and you are thinking of your own benefit, it gets manifested in everything. Your final point is the true key to charisma. Thanks for sharing your insight with us.
I also think a big part of beeing charismatic is to be authentic, and be confident about who you really are. I can´t describe it but people feel that, and then they will want to talk to you.
I was literally just typing this exact comment 😂 I think it's just about knowing you'll be okay no matter what so you put your whole self and best stuff out there for better or worse
Dude how do you keep making videos about exactly what I’m working through for my own channel. From resisting the urge to copy Sam Sulek, becoming a better storyteller, to fearing I’m not charismatic enough to connect with my audience. It’s like we’re on the exact same brain algo 😂
i'm pretty sure you are sent by the simulation to make videos about stuff i'm currently researching, lol. it has happened multiple times since i started watching you
Dude. I watched some of your videos, but this one made me sub to you. Because you just explained how to actually become more charismatic so well and clearly its just doing better
Hi Jay, thanks for another video. you always come across with a steady hand at the rudder, steering the ship through the course of your video, which gives you a uniquely calm charisma. Plus your voice always comes across full and clean. I'd love to know what software and/or hardware you're running your mic through for that nice full sound.
Hello Jay! I've been watching a-lot of your videos for some time now, and you've actually been one of the people that's inspired me to create my own styled video essays. And since you've made a video about predictions in 2024, I have some questions I'd want your opinion on! What do you think about TH-cam and its creators nowadays? do some youtube channels feel fored and unauthentic? are authentic creators being erased and forced algorithms and strict ideas are taking over? Do you think this also has to do it with the fact that so many creators are leaving?
Yes. Not erased but viewers preferences are changing. People quit because of either; Time (they've just been doing it for so long and it doesn't challenge them anymore) or they let the algorithm become their boss and that sucks.
When you mentioned presence I immediately thought about "The Way of The Superior Man" by David Deida. Though being aimed at relationships, the idea of presence was really one of the main take aways I had from the book. I would to see you involve some wisdom from it in a future video. Outstanding execution as always Jay, you are pathing a new way.
when i rewatch my old videos i notice so much more charisma compared to now and when you brought up presence it made so much sense. back then i wasn't stressing about final outcome but now while filming i'm so stuck in the future with how final outcome will be so thank you for making me realize that
As soon as I heard the words "what makes Casey Neistat so charismatic" I clicked off and hit the down vote button. Sorry man, I wanted to like you because something about you resonates, but....ugh

It's a pleasure to be here.
I can’t believe you only have 6k subs, this content is gold

Hahah, you're too kind.
@laytonicles - so right. I absolutely love the lack of cuts! Jay, you're awesome!
What I love about your videos is how it’s one take, and a clearly well planned and executed delivery of a strong idea.
That takes a lot of work and effort to make it look so simple.
agree!
Thank you. Hard but worth it.
Hope the awkward goodbye thing never gets resolved. Love the vibe
Oh that's here to stay for sure.
Masterclass on how to be so articulate please

Brash confidence is spot on. Certainly something magnet about it.
I've read that book! Helped out a lot when I was trying to learn how to be a better presenter on camera!
Good book.

100%. You can absolutely pick up on authenticity.

You’re well on your way. Big ups brother!
I found this genuinely helpful! You explained it in a way that actually provided value, not simply little hacks, and I really appreciate that!
I'm glad I could help

Shure SM58 mic, into a Vocaster One, recorded on QuickTime.
Retention editing is finally dying!!
Your predictions are already becoming true!
being a better person 💫

Great upload
Speedy comment, Kevin. I like it.
Unreal vid! Few days late though…
Nothing gets past 7362.
Not a second in this video that's not worthwhile.
I honestly initially read this as ‘nothing worthwhile’. I’m glad I reread it.
@@thejayalto who would go on the Internet and spread hate?
I want this channel to grow! I wish! That's this comment for... because I'm getting tons of value!
I appreciate your wish, my friend.
Authentic. Informed. Enjoyable. ✅✅✅
Boom. Boom. Boom.

I’m in the same boat. Just got to forget the cameras there and be in the moment. The viewers can sense it.
You are so Charismatic Jay, love your videos, deeply inspiring
Kind words. Thank you.
Holy shit the thumbnail of this was the first frame but edited and the autoplay made that look so smooth
Good spot.
