I worked for Amazon last year and those cameras are super strict. If your rabbit falls on the floor even if you didn't touch; it is considered phone manipulation, which can hurt your routes and score. There is a score that monitors how safe of a driver you are. If the score gets too low, your days are cut until you can climb your score up. Also Amazon makes you deliver packages within a certain radius otherwise it won't let you finish the delivery. There is a way to group stops so you can override that function, but it takes time and you have to find the next package. Not to mention dispatch will ask you why you did that and you might have to explain the situation before or after.

I honestly had no idea. You forget about how much they have to go thru and walk thru.. up and down flights of stairs, in snow, rain, in the cold and heat.. At least postal workers only have to make it to mailboxes (most of the time*).. that are usually ground level. And they get paid better.

Hey Atozy! Just FYI there are basically two types of Amazon drivers. DSP (hired directly by Amazon and are employees of Amazon) and Amazon Flex Drivers (independent contractors that work when they want etc). While both aren’t ideal, it’s possible the driver dropping off that package at the stand-off was a flex driver and could have made or not made the delivery (and depending on his status, he may have returned too many, or he’s just a hustler). So point is Flex drivers are their own bosses while following Amazon rules but aren’t obligated as much as a DSP driver is.

Okay so several years ago, I can’t remember exactly how many now, a company that I worked for (for many years) had a building down the road from a sewage processing plant. During a period of really heavy rains the plant flooded and flooded all the businesses down the road including our parking lot. Now, I was not at this building, but many of the people I had to deal with were, and all the people that had to go out and move their vehicles that came into contact with the contaminated water were told they had to go to the hospital within 24 hours no excuses and no exceptions. Even if it was a brief moment you still had to go and get checked out. Tetanus was the primary concern but also being a sewage processing plant many other possible issues were also being addressed. Our company then sent everyone’s co-pays and bills to the sewage processing plant for reimbursement.
