I eat it raw and cooked. I love karela. Chahe bharwa or kat ke bana hua. Many a times I tend to have its juice as well. I used to eat karela and trifla in childhood instead of having saafi for blood purification. I eat it raw also. Often people do not like eating this vegetable as they are taste conscious instead of being health conscious.

If you take upto 100 gms karela per day, it will not cause any problems and interactions with other eatables. Introduce it slowly and let your body get acclimatized to it. Only when you take in larger amounts it interacts with other medications and eatables also whose interactions may lead to mainly gastrointestinal and sugar level alterations in the body.
