Please note! All of the equipment shown in this video is legal to own as it does not contain any US military encryption technology. Nothing here is CCI. These radios are all NATO versions of the kinds you may see in the US military - however, these NATO versions use standard, exportable encryption technology, similar to what you have in your web browser!
@@CommanderWolfe No need to remove any keys, they're all long gone anyway. These work for amateur radio operators. The Sincgars stuff is compatible with the old PRC-25/77 stuff, and the HF stuff (with a good antenna an help from the gods of propagation) can communicate around the world (unlike CBs)
Oh man, I’m glad I saw you on Josh’s channel with your vehicle setup. I’ve been looking for someone that goes into military radios like this. Working with SINCGARS, ASIP, and Harris radios when I was in Iraq and Afghanistan doing patrols is what got me interested in amateur radio after I left the army. Love the channel already, thanks for showcasing your gear!
If I remember correctly, the Harris will do UHF and VHF where-as the SINCGARS will only do VHF. If one uses the "networking" on the Harris, you must have a GPS connected as the time source on all networked Harris radios. Very cool find!
Depends on the radio. Harris 7800M series will do 30-2000 MHz, 7800H is 1.5-60 MHz, 7800V is 30-88 MHz etc. You are correct, Sincgars is only 30-88 MHz.
I need to get better comms with Santa since he's not hooking me up like that haha Then again I'm sure a quick trip to Northern Pakistan would source some left behind next door (albeit with the issue of crypto being included) 😅
Thanks for sharing! Any leads on software for RF-5800M-HH or RF-5800V-HH ? I have the CPA with some plugins, just not for these two. Manuel says RPA should be used. My units all have different CAM and I need to make them the same. Thanks!
Love it when I see the label that says "CARC". IT = DO NOT SAND AND INHALE DUST. Milgear equates to having very deep pockets and a very understanding YL. Don’t know if I would be wanting to transmit at 150 + watts in a ragtop HUMMV. Even the helmet top, would have to line all of the inside with self adhesive copper foil and ground it to the chassis. Spent too much time working on hot 800 MHz 150 watt amps on an LTR system in the past. I bet Pasternak doesn’t carry half of those RF connectors. I though AES256 was ITAR controlled?¿ I know that plain old DES is exportable, not sure about DES-XL.
HI @subgunman. Yes CARC is nasty stuff. HF is way less concerning than UHF in terms of non-ionizing radiation exposure. There are papers on RF exposure. At HF, not too much to worry about until 1KW. AES256 is what your web browser supports. All open. regards!
Working on my general license.. Ive only done 2m and 70cm. But interested to bounce the F2. Some army Comms would go good with my M35 Duece. Where should I be shopping??? I also plan to learn some digital mode operating. 73 Situational Awareness.. KF[hashtag]BRQ
Ebay is the best. If you are in the US, I have some good sincgars equipment for sale if you're interested. Sincgars and SA is a good combination. th-cam.com/video/RuGyG_p_0Vg/w-d-xo.html

my gawd what have I stumbled uppon. I have bunch of 1980s mint Navy Transmitters / Exciters and a Modem its from the same era that your gear is from. Ive tried to sell it on ebay. What are you even doing!? Using military gear for anything other then war is an exercise in futility.OH you have a SINGCARS mount? Single-Channel Air/Ground - I don't think those radios can be adapted. I also know an indvidual who was involved in the development of that technology. BTW - I have an encryption module for the radio your using. It's not programmed obviously but if you self program it Putin will never know what your saying!! Cough. Legal to Own... Not so much to use.
Hi there. I have an interest in Naval radio equipment as well! Check out my videos. Let me know what models you have (URT-23? etc)? Most of the stuff in this video is 2000 and later. But Sincgars as a system dates back for sure. As for adapting, we use them extensively on the 6 meter ham band (50-54 MHz) without problem. 73!

They just gut these of the keys and converted them to work on the CB like the old PRC77s?

Hi Michael! Thanks for the note and thanks for your service. Yes I have lots of stuff on the channel and more added from time to time. 73
That gear is definitely years past the time I learned how to repair Marine Corps ground radio systems!( 1975-1978)

Some really great, and rare equipment.
Uber cool. Thanks for the show and tell. Always enjoy your videos!
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
The adapter for the HF radio allowed users to use all the old Harris HF devices, cables as was used for the previous Falcon 2 hardware.
Those look great, wouldn't mind something simular in my jeep!
Check out my other videos. I have some similar stuff set up in my Land Rover
Nice haul
thanks! 73!
How do you buy these ? Where can I buy them from ?

To think I almost got a lump of coal this year!
Have you found any manuals for the 7850m-hh? I have a TCPremire account but they do not have the 7850m on the site. Thanks
Contact me, I'm good in QRZ. thanks

Trying to get a good, genuine as I can, setup in my M1078 LMTV.
Where did you get them at?
Where do you get your hands on this kinda stuff? I’m very interested in purchasing some myself!
Same here. Impossible to find in Canada.
Gotta ask Santa😊

No one will ever know for sure if I won the lottery, but there will be signs!
Empty space is where you keep a MRE.
Good point!
Great video! I also have a TRM (yes they are rare), but there is a connector you didn't describe - J10-SNAP - what is that used for?
Steerable Null Antenna Processor. I know nothing about it but some info here: www.prc68.com/I/RT1439.shtml#SNAP What is your callsign?
Fascinating! Thanks!

Are any of these radios networking capable i.e. can use ANW2C/SRW?

@@w2hx I look forward to watch videos of you trying these MANET waveforms out!
You may need to get a second Land Rover, maybe a communication shelter.
