Ben! Try not to tap your filter land to cast mana reflection! It will net you 3 mana once the mana reflection is out! (It costs 1 to activate and makes 4)

Content idea: when blake comes back, please please please play a pseudo prismatic game, where everyone will have a monocolored EDH deck and will have two allies and two enemies like the color pie we know and love. A player wins the game when they have no enemies left, so players should actively try to protect their allies while trying to defeat their enemies.
I'm building a Sigarda Font of Blessings deck, and I am now re-thinking the design thanks to Shae's decklist. Fun vid. Sub added.

I think one food & +1/+1 was missed from Shea casting Aura Shards - so much to keep track of in these games, that's for sure!

I always feel like Ben is never the threat, but he always gets hit. Guys, threat assessment is a thing.
I was just thinking the same thing. He always gets hard targeted early. A bit of the downside to enjoying big stompy!
Early ramp, a fast Seedborn Muse and a Rhystic Study, and in the midgame a massive amount of mana and both a handful of giant monsters available and a bunch more possible off his assorted threat generators. In what world was Ben not the threat? Even post Cyclonic he was the obvious hit; you want to do enough damage to encourage the Arix to hold back on defense or, as Gina did, get some political leverage out of it.
If anything, he probably wasn't targeted enough - you couldn't have convinced me to target that Mirari's Wake over the Mana Reflection in Shay's position for basically anything.
@Kestral287 This is why we have things called opinions and different play styles. I see a larger threat and if you can't see that then that's why we are different players . Some times you have to keep people who are "big" on board around so they can help and use there stuff so you can maybe go after them next. Some times it is a mind game and you have to look at the bigger picture.

Fun game to watch! *Spoiler* I'm wondering if CGB could've killed both Gina and Shae on that last turn if he placed his +1/+1 counters differently and maybe moved the equipment around differently. There's so much going on each time I couldn't keep track of it even when watching from home so you can't really blame him if he did miss the win.
It's very, very close but as best I can tell from the known information he can't. He doesn't actually have many available attackers - the Extortionist, Rocco, and Bloom Tender are it. Shay has one blocker that he can't evasion past at all, and Gina has one that dodges the Sword and one that dodges the Extortionist so both forms of evasion are needed on her. That makes the equipment pretty much locked. So what he would have to do is build both Rocco and Bloom Tender up to be lethal threats on Shay and equip up the Extortionist against Gina. There are two 'wasted' +1/+1 counters on the Fireweaver, two on the Germ, and four (five, but we have to work in increments of two) on Rocco, so even if all of those went to Tender in addition to its own it would be a 9/10 - big, but not big enough to threaten lethal.
And the Tender was providing additional value by not attacking too; any sort of kill is extremely uncertain here due to Shay very obviously holding an instant of some form, but CGB was going to see two more cards off of the Sword. That means holding the extra mana from Tender is almost certainly worthwhile. It turned out to not be needed, but three colors has a good bit of value in that spot.

@Ti R² Well yeah, there's that. It's still interesting to work out because if the kill was there it's something to at least consider playing to.
@@voltcorp Sure, CGB wouldn't have been able to kill her as she had it in hand but he has to play to his outs and if you can take out both players in the same turn that's obviously the most optimal line. It's the classic "make em have it or they lose" play.
@@Kestral287Ah you're right, I forgot about the spirit on Gina's board. Then yeah, there's defo no way CGB could've got through that many blockers unless he had removal or trample.

this is why i took out tibalts trickery in my decks XD never worked out for me. Its more detrimental than Chaos Warp, because its guarenteed to hit a spell. Chaos warp can whiff quite a bit!

Would cgb have been able to cast sol ring from exile even though rocco entered as a new object?
Yeah, once the effect to exile the card has been triggered it no longer requires Rocco. So once the trigger is put on the stack the cards will be exiled and can be played even if Rocco leaves the field.

Worst Cyclonic Rift ever cast...... it is an instant so you casting it in enemy Turn ist much stronger.

As someone mentioned in the chat at the end, CGB ended up fumbling this game. The Aerial Extortionist can "exile up to one target nonland permanent" on dealing combat damage, not just ETB. So he could have targeted Shea's Sigarda, causing it to be summoning sick on recast on her turn. She would only have had Angel of Jubilation able to attack for 6 infect, not 10+.

You know, I hate to be that guy, but the Angel of Jubilation should have shut down CGB's whole Krark-Clan Ironworks strategy. Luckily, I don't think it would have mattered, because if he'd known that, I think he still would've been able to kill Gina, and then Shea kill him anyway.
Angel says that you can't sac creatures, doesn't say anything about artifacts.

Ben is taking too much time setting up his board state. My guy is playing strong oppressive creatures and turn 7 or 8 in were still waiting for the kraken to be released.
No spoilers, but someone's career got straight shot down, someone had enough of someone's BS, there was a big ball of energy bouncing around, and the gravy of another tasteful win. Mwah, chef's kiss

Hey Ben, for your interest, Octopus is Greek and thus the plural is Octopodes.
When you play the Nettlecyst you would made 2 gems and do another damage and you could of sac it for 2 colourless mana

What the other person said, Germ tokens are not artifacts. Also, State-Based Action will see that the germ token without equipment has toughness zero, so it'll die to SBA before CGB can use it.

Just found this channel after watching CGB arena vids for the last 4-5 months. Great idea, but unfortunately the implementation doesn’t make a great viewing experience… I can’t see the cards. Need to pop them out on the screen when they’re played… probably a really labour intensive thing though! Sorry, will check this out in a few months to see how it progresses
