    Создавать такие шедевры это титанический труд.я 20 лет шью профессионально и знаю как сложно сделать то.что кажется таким легким.столько ручной работы стежок к стежку.Я снимаю шляпу перед этими мастерами.И не боги горшки обжигают....

    This is why haute couture is so monstrously expensive. Months of exquisite handwork done by true artists. The Renoir's, Michelangelos and da Vincis of the fashion world. Each piece is a masterwork fit for the Louvre.

      Art Nunymiss I don't know where you are, but you could look around and see if there are any good fabric stores near by. Talk to the staff, they will know of dress makers and embroiderers who are looking for collaborators. People who can do these crafts are few and far between. So much so that in order to have experts on hand, the Royal House of Windsor has sponsored a special handwork school in England. They needed to ensure that there was someone to maintain and create the special robes of office that royalty and high ranking Church officials wear.

    Now i understand why haute couture is so expensive. But still don't get the cleaning instruction. Nobody talks about it. Is it wear one time and through it? It's also very stiff and you can't really move as you want....is not for everyday. So it's not comfortable, expensive and hard to clean. Hmmm...you better appreciate the show and not wear it.

    Can someone tell me the net fabric used? Looks like tulle,?

    • @Writeoscar
      @Writeoscar 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Artsy Irish Chic beadings are done on tulle or mesh before apply to the main fabric. designer houses send tulle with exact pattern cut out to Lesage houses for them to do customized beading onto. other than that, you can purchase the beading by the yard but you have to manipulate it to fit your pattern pieces. hope that help.

    • @Lady_in_Waiting
      @Lady_in_Waiting 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Oscar that helps a lot. :-)

    • @artnunymiss2530
      @artnunymiss2530 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was wondering that too. I thought the material was a very lightweight silk, just a hair heavier than tulle. I'm thinking this because those enamel butterflies have to be heavy, even just with the feathers and sequins tulle might not be strong enough to hold them. I was surprised the lightweight silk was, actually.

    • @Writeoscar
      @Writeoscar 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Art Nunymiss the reason why this look like light silk which, is rarely used.. usually silk organza or silk organdy depending on the design and flow is because the designer house can afford to have Lesage work apply directly into the fabric. Other designers would buy the fabric by yard and it is on tulle. I have seen some beautiful and heavy beading done on tulle to cut out and applied to the design.

      Yes, I've seen them that way too. I know how to do beautiful hand embroidery, as lovely as this. Do you know how I can be hired to do it?

    It's very common to find this work in India for a tenth of the price, especially the work on the black jacket. It's sad that the artisans in India are exploited, they barely get 10 dollars for a whole day's work. Even if people don't appreciate the designs, I wish they appreciated the sheer hard work of another human being.

    • @t-.-t.
      @t-.-t. 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Not really... The embroidery artisans are paid very well here in India. hand embroidered clothes are expensive. A hand wowen silk sarees with real gold embroidery will cost you more than a chanel haute couture piece.But, Chanel artistery is way more time consuming and unique compared to Indian style

    • @jaayghose3817
      @jaayghose3817 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Kitta12320 it is not so. You see, the embroidery has to be done first, therefore in this chain, they are paid extremely less, then it goes to the manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers etc. That is whrre the price goes up. But the aritsans are actually very poor 💙

    • @t-.-t.
      @t-.-t. 6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Jaay Ghose nope. Im in this field. Hand embroidered clothes dont get produced in bulk and does not goes to manufacturers. They are done using embroidery machines. Hand embroidered dresses/sarees are one of a kind and are very expensive. Embroidery karigars are paid 700-1000 rs a day. Plus its stupid to compare indian wages with chanel's labor charges.

    • @ramyapk6083
      @ramyapk6083 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kitta12320 yeah they get paid but in comparison to France worker nothing.

    • @MTMF.london
      @MTMF.london 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Couture houses do not send their clothes to be embroidered or embellished in India or elsewhere. They are done in-house or sent to a specialist atelier such as Lessage (not sure about spelling) which is world-famous and was bought out by Chanel. It is the mass-market clothing, manufactured for heavily advertised brands and sold in big department stores, that use cheap, exploited skilled artisans from Third World countries.

    I imagine what the label says on these dresses: don't put in the washing machine, don't tumble dry, don't hand wash, don't iron, don't vapor clean... only dry clean with a professional who deals with highly expensive dresses which are basically none existant.

      Enriquez Melissa its button placket between 3rd and 4th buttons. i dont know how to explain it well in english. but placket seemed not errr .. balanced.it should lie flat when worn. most of the time it happens if button distance and button hole distance not matched. i dont know whether what happened here is that or it just streched or something on the body, just i saw it didnt lie flat..

    I wish they wouldn't use real feathers. Birds must have obviously been harmed to get their feathers.

    • @k.s.k.7721
      @k.s.k.7721 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not necessarily - all birds moult their feathers naturally. And the more spectacular plumage that is used to attract a mate has a very short span to remain on the bird - as soon as the mating season is over, they fall out and the bird reverts to a quieter, often shorter feather which is more practical for nest building and raising young. Peacocks can shed those tail feathers twice yearly. Even chickens moult yearly, and the feathers are easy to collect off the ground, leaving the bird unharmed.
