Wish this was about 2 hours longer. I love seeing the art of couture. Meticulous care and precision. The techniques. The dream-like designs. Perfection.
They know how to sew and have learned how to make sewing patterns, at least those with a degree. So there is no excuse for some of their atrocious, unfitting pieces, with sad solutions, trying to combine different materials.
I agree with you, but some artisans are just so passionate with their craft and for them that's all what really matters to most of them - just doing what they truly love, not caring about the recognition. ❤
My grandfather was a tailor . Made some clothes for my barbie doll . Wish I'd picked his brain alittle . I was young when he passed . What a beautiful art .
Ainsley Illium how is that an insult. I wasnt saying that medicine is better than fashion--although in reality the field of medicine is more urgent necessity compared to high end fashion.
Really ??? I don't ! 80 000 euros for a Couture Dress , sorry but i don't see one single way to justify the price tag. Especially since , if it wasn't made by Dior , but still handmade using the same material and technique, it wouldn't cost anything over 6000 euros, maximum . So the 74 000 extra euros are just for the label . If you are crazy enough to buy a label for 70 000 euros , then you need to rethink your life priorities .
Morgan Olfursson they use the best of everything including the best in he business. That cost money and by their, and other fashion houses continued sucess it looks like there is most definitely a market for it
God bless those beautiful, delicate magical, powerful hands of hers. This lady and all the couteress that work behind the brand deserve all the recognition and more. Love, love, love.
Love the feminity of this beautiful design. From the cut, print to the embroidery and bead work, it's just sheer beauty, it certainly speaks of female tenderness and class to me! Loving this collection! 2:14
It's the opposite! For the haute couture First came the sketch then they choose the right model and at the and then this wonderful and gifted hands sew the dress. Those clothes are just made-to-order
I love how neat and orderly everything looks in here. I wish I could just stand around watching everyone do their stuff all day long. How about make a long movie, a documentary, and put a lot of pretty music in there to give the idea of how peaceful it is to be a couture artist. I would love that, and everyone else too!
These dresses are so expensive because the craftsmen create each piece of these dresses by hand. The video lasts three minutes, but the dress itself is created for months. All embroidery is done by hand, it is a unique thing, created with love and patience. This is art.
Beautiful. Wearing that gown is like wearing a piece of art work. If i had that gown i would wear it to every event for the rest of my life!! Parties, weddings, white tie, black tie, everything.
Wages of all those number of people working on one dress, x the talent and skill, x excellent materials used, x cost of premises and their maintenance, x other fixed costs including utilities, x the time spent on the project..... It’s not just a dress, it’s a WORK OF ART AND YOU GET TO WEAR IT.
I've always had a preference for hand sewing. I was taught by the Catholic nuns when I went to boarding school. Embroidering and beading are my favorite. It's a lost art with a beautiful result.
Couture is handmade and Ready-to-wear is mass made, made with machines. This why luxury brands are so expensive, they are utilizing the best textiles - fabrics and notions. Then incredibly talented sewists, that have years/decades of experience, along with beaders, embroiders and any other specialized detail work create each panel by hand.
Not worth it honey. You much more than this. If you dedicated urself sth go for parentless children or sth. But i realy know what you mean. I could dedicated my life for this its magically beatifull
Hahaha... I love this educational video. Till the final full stop of it, I realized this was shot by our NGV and so happy with millions of viewers like me. Thanks for the document......Wish getting more and more viewers.....STF
Project Runway could take note. This is how a genuine fashion atelier operates: skill, dedication, artistry. No meltdowns, no drunken binges, no backbiting. But then again PR is just reality TV with little to do with the “real” world.
The fashion industry is a perfect analogy on the world order. These industrious clever women working away at the tedious task of sewing small things do not receive the acknowledgement they deserve. Ever. While the designers take the bows and these brilliant creations are forever draped on vacuous hangers whose only talent for the most is walking while skinny. C’est la vie.
Wish this was about 2 hours longer. I love seeing the art of couture. Meticulous care and precision. The techniques. The dream-like designs. Perfection.
You should watch Dior and I on Netflix (if its still there...)! Its a beautiful show and shows a lot of the sewing as well as ideas behind it all.
Ikr!! All couture dress making videos last for 2-3 mins. Wish they were atleast half hour long. I could watct it all day tho🤣
Jacquelyn thank uuuu
runspud This is what you call a dream-like design? Uugh.
Artists at work.
No wonder the garments are priceless. Amazing!!!! I salute all who can do this magnificent work
I have always loved doing the hand sewing- it is sad that the "artists" aren't acknowledged!
I think I wouldn’t care to be acknowledged just working with all those beautiful things all day under a my light would be enough for me!

Do you have pictures of the clothes your grandfather made for your Barbie
the surgeons of fashion industry
Ainsley Illium how is that an insult. I wasnt saying that medicine is better than fashion--although in reality the field of medicine is more urgent necessity compared to high end fashion.
More like neurosurgeons, because these are extremely delicate and detailed and precise.
Clothes are for warmth, modesty and to look good. These people are over doing it.
@@hsnrb9959 how dull
@@dryb3301 Not as dull as sewing beads for several hours.
I wish that dior always show the making of a dress videos, just like chanel.
... and voila another China Chanel ripoff.
I understand now why it's expensive...
Joesan Laboson _ same :)
TRUE

Joesan Laboson the labor from the beading alone would take months!

Craftsmanship, artistry, inspiration, beautiful!
Love the feminity of this beautiful design. From the cut, print to the embroidery and bead work, it's just sheer beauty, it certainly speaks of female tenderness and class to me! Loving this collection! 2:14
And when it's all done, you find the right model who will do a good job in representing all your efforts and hard work.
It's the opposite! For the haute couture First came the sketch then they choose the right model and at the and then this wonderful and gifted hands sew the dress. Those clothes are just made-to-order
So many hardworking, patient and amazing dream designers.❤️Thay aren't designing clothes they are designing dreams... Respect ❤️💯

These are real Stars!!! They do haute couture! Huge respect and all of admiration to Your Art!!!
I just couldn’t stop thinking of Phantom Thread while I was watching this.
Watching this showed me why my fashion designing teachers are so picky about the techniques and finishing and stuff.

That is so beautiful ! The woman doing the bead works is so patient and talented.
I've always had a preference for hand sewing. I was taught by the Catholic nuns when I went to boarding school. Embroidering and beading are my favorite. It's a lost art with a beautiful result.
This motivates me to get up and do something with my life
I remember seeing this dress in Vogue... it was love at first sight with that beaded floral 🌷❤️
Beautiful. Thanks for the glimpse into Dior from the wonderful clothes to the pristine workroom.
Hermoso! Cuanta dedicación en la confección de un diseño! Todos los detalles! Felicitaciones!

Joj, nádhera! Raz tak pobudnúť krátku dobu medzi tou nádherou! To by bol zážitok!!!!!! Wow!!!!
This videos calms me down 😌😌
こうやって丁寧に洋服作ってみたい…
Putting paper under the fabric while you trim so you don't accidentally cut through the other layer! brilliant! Seriously, mind blown.
I know this is a stupid question but is it all hand made? It's so beautiful!!!!
not a dumb question at all the best part about this couture piece is that it is all handmade
Not all ☺️☺️☺️

Haute couture is mend to be handmade, but nowadays they use machines sometimes
At least 90% of the work is done by hand
I'd to spend my entire life doing this
elton vala You forgot a verb in your sentence
elton vala go for it. You can get a lot of hand sewing techniques just watching these couture videos. Make your own custom wardrobe.
Not worth it honey. You much more than this. If you dedicated urself sth go for parentless children or sth. But i realy know what you mean. I could dedicated my life for this its magically beatifull

The best part is that everything is handcrafted
i love the sophistication of the dress making in Dior , but do you need so much different types of threads of the same colour ?
