I have just given up and accept that we are now the clown capital of the world and probably will be for the next three or four generations. Yeah it would seem that way, but it's not like gymnastics where you get a score for your routine. It's more like boxing except in boxing judges give the losing boxer in a round a consolation 8 or 9. In breaking they give zero. One point for each judge per round. All the judges gave their points to the other breaker.

Unfortunately, no one has provided Rachael Gunn with frank constructive criticism. 1) She lacks the strength and physicality necessary to perform the gravity defying moves; 2) She lacks the artistry, rhythm, and fluidity. Going forward, she could build muscle and become a better craftsman, but I don’t think true artistry can be taught.
What is crazy she even admitted in one of her interviews that she lacked the athleticism to perform some of the more dynamic moves. I'm tired of people saying breakdancing is not an Olympic sport. It requires a lot of strength and muscle control and flexibility to do what they do and especially if you are timing it to the beat of a song. The average person would not be able to pull the dance moves they are doing and there were some skilled gymnasts struggling with their moves especially the flares, head spins, and bodyweight moves like levitation that they do in breaking. Just because they make it seem easy does not mean that the average person is athletic enough or skilled to do those moves.

So what you're telling me is that if the world was in trouble and we needed a break-dancer to save it, we should completely skip over anyone in Aussie.
More like Nepotism. The only thing more cringe than watching her dance is listening to hear talk about hip hop and breakdancing. Look up cultural appropriation in the dictionary and you will see her photo.
She needs to be celebrated and honored in Australia. She is a living legend. Total punk rocker who is using art to expose the shallowness of the times we live in, where people become more enraged by this than they do about the true injustices in the world.
There seriously needs to be an investigation into her and her husband cheating their way to Paris. They at a bare minimum should pay back and costs involved.
I watched the 2023 qualifier that Raygun won, which qualified her for the Olympics, and she was 100% better than she was at the Olympics (meaning she actually did a routine). This type of thing will kill this sport, because there's obviously something wrong with a major country sending someone like her to the Olympics.
SHe wasnt 100% better at the qualifier, I have watched all the battles during that competition and she was terrible as she was always been. Her best moment was about 5-6 years, when she was a bit younger and she was more agile and powerful. but the last 3 years have been terrible for her.

Those "diversity spots" should either be completely deleted or only given out to countries that lack the funds for a big Olympic team. Australia is more than rich and successful enough to have athletes qualify through their own skill.
As somebody who was around when breakdancing started, I'm still shocked that people still do it. I hadn't heard about it for decades, then there's a story about a woman accusing her father of leaving the family to become a breakdancer and the biggest story in the Olympics is about breakdancing. She needs to be made a public spectacle in Australia LIVE on sunrise......Apology and retirement she made us look like fools
You do not speak for all Australians..she mad “herself” look like a fool.
She's already a public spectacle. I'm pretty sure she's doing some deep soul searching after this cringeworthy display.
@@unsafe_at_any_speed Stocks and tomatoes type stuff in federation Sq....better be careful English thought police could get me
@@unsafe_at_any_speed she hiding bro like a rat and dog C
She needs to be celebrated and honored in Australia. She is a living legend. Total punk rocker who is using art to expose the shallowness of the times we live in, where people become more enraged by this than they do about the true injustices in the world.
There seriously needs to be an investigation into her and her husband cheating their way to Paris.
They at a bare minimum should pay back and costs involved.
I watched the 2023 qualifier that Raygun won, which qualified her for the Olympics, and she was 100% better than she was at the Olympics (meaning she actually did a routine). But I don't see how she won that competition either; the girl against her was much better.
It isn't sport.
@@IL7319 i also think she was better during the qualifiers but she was not better than Molly imo
@@fcandido7 SHe was definiltely better in the qualifiers, I think her level in the qualifiers was quite similar to Molly's. I think Raygun knew she had nothing to compete in the Olympics and decided to do something "creative", but in breaking "creativity" without power moves, without musicality, without real breaking moves, is simply ridiculous. I think Molly would have done a much better job at the Olympics.
I can’t believe our taxes pay for this person to go on a holiday to Europe
Chapman actually looks like she's trying to dance well, as opposed to Raygun who looks like she is having a seizure.
Molly Chapman wouldnt have troubled the judges much either. Gunn beat Chapman? Not in a million years. It was like picking a swimmer that sunk and had to be rescued.
Well this is shameful....tthis girl was CLEARLY robbed of her spot...the WORLD needs answers
I don't know what's worse, her utterly embarrasing display, calling what she did 'breakdancing' when it clearly was not, denying someone who actually can breakdance a spot, or her yawning and dissing the other dancer antics like she even had a speck of talent.
The 3 Aussies who tried qualifying in Shanghai came 34 , 35 and 37 in a field of 40 which suggests maybe we have a lot more work to do.
Have to assume 36, 38, 39 and 40 had to retire with an injury
Not to be a party po*per, but from what I watched here she's just slightly better than Ray but not olympic level good.
Nope, that's where Australia should finish. You don't have gansta rap, side shows and the rest of the 'culture' that comes with the break dancing and you should celebrate that. Wanting to be good at having a country that's going down the toilet is not something to strive for...
She reinforced the stereotype of "white people can't dance". As much as the statement isn't necessarily true, she made it PAINFULLY true.
nah because we all saw a ton of white people who could dance at the olympics 😂
I think Elvis Presley settled the debate a long time ago that in fact, some white people can absolutely kill it on the dance floor.
Unless they are the Lithuanian and Ukrainian bgirls in the finals right?
racist comment
Stereotypes abound in life. Whites can't dance. Blacks can't read. Both are wrong.
This is why Australia should investigated for Olympic corruption.....She has set Hip hop back 50 years in one week.
There needs to be an investigation
Forget about breakdancing, she set Australia back 4 generations.
Those "diversity spots" should either be completely deleted or only given out to countries that lack the funds for a big Olympic team. Australia is more than rich and successful enough to have athletes qualify through their own skill.
Its actually good that she was so bad...she exposed herself and the corruption!
The rest of the world is Australia forever gratefull for the entertainment.
As somebody who was around when breakdancing started, I'm still shocked that people still do it. I hadn't heard about it for decades, then there's a story about a woman accusing her father of leaving the family to become a breakdancer and the biggest story in the Olympics is about breakdancing. This has to be a glitch in the matrix.
BRUH, THESE ARE NOT OLYMPIANS.. wtf is wrong with this world.
Basically it’s under the World dance sport umbrella they couldn’t get the Latin dances in this year so they brought breakdancing on and the Latin dances in 2028
They need to cut the amount of "sports" that are in the Olympics by half...
Nope She Can Technically Get A Olympic Tattoo Now...
🤷🏿♂️
Helps when your husband in on the selection committee nothing to see here...
That would explain it but there were 9 independent judges from all around the world ( none from Australia )
Imagine how sure you must be that you can do this on a huge global scale and no one will hold you accountable
I'm sure that had nothing to do with it all 😂
@@dorianshadesofgray It's not hard to imagine. Wife and Husband run it, control the money, the judges have the judges over for dinner a couple of times. Some nice food wine, talk about future trips to Australia. It's all human nature.
Ray Gunn didn’t need help for this one lol, beat her without a single windmill, easy.
Some have said there are some aboriginal girls who are even better than both. Someone needs to do a investigative documentary on this.
That would be interesting! Hmmm
More proof that everything is about a denial of reality.
Finally. I’ve thought from the beginning she was in denial. She seems like she’s under a serious delusion. If she is not a scammer, then that means she has a serious untreated mental illness and was naked in front of of the world.
Either she’s a scammer; or no other Australians had the means to leave their life behind (couldn’t get visa/passports, couldn’t afford to leave their jobs/families); OR she truly can’t see the difference between her video and a video of an actual breakdancer.
If she is sincere, then she has been surrounded by enablers and apologists who contributed to her denial of reality.
As a Brit, I have always looked up to Australia for its incredible sporting success and attitude, born from being an unashamed meritocracy, please never give up on this incredible value! Congratulations BTW for an exceptional Olympics, punching way above your weight, yet again. And true to form, the world is discussing this nonsense, rather than your 52 medals, 18 golds and coming 4th in the World!
Winning medals happens. Hundreds had been distributed in this Olympics.
Insulting everyone that takes the competition seriously, it doesn't happen that often.
@@neutronalchemist3241 No one had a medal distributed to them They were won by the best in their field…
@@johnve8327 And none of the winners forged his own medal, so the medals had been DISTRIBUTED to the winners, that accepted the medals DISTRIBUTED to them by the organization that DISTRIBUTED the medals.
@@neutronalchemist3241 Hahahaha!
@johnve8327 Apparently, preparation for these games was different in that the Olympic team was focused on positivity and good health, rather than winning medals per se. A different approach that supposedly did actually make a difference when it came down to it. Our highest medal tally ever. Crazy. I really enjoyed watching these Olympics. France did a great job!
To put Raygun's "break dancing" into context, if she were an Olympic swimmer, it would have been the equivalent of her doggy paddling the 100M Free.
What do you expect when reported that “Raygun” and her husband were the ones who did the selection.
This explains why she was crying in her room and wrote an angry arrogant feminist rant in her thesis...because a bloke told her she wasn't up to it.....and she isn't, she has absolutely not an iota of skill talent, musicality, timing or smoothness...she us not cut out for this sport and she couldn't handle it...too bad...
Exactly. We could admire her determination, but she went far beyond that and literally turned to corruption and cheating in order to get into the Olympics. Then when the world watched her fraudulent performance, she blamed the entire world instead of herself. Really twisted narcissistic mentality
"You just hate me because I'm a woman." No we hate you because you have no talent. As an actual feminist she is a joke. She's the misogynist for stealing the spot from an actual talented woman.
She’s not a feminist, she’s using fake feminism as a “shield” to justify her own terrible actions, most of which affect other women the most.
This needs to be investigated and if there was any clear fraud or fixing, they should be either heavily fined or serve jailtime.
Raygun's husband and mother were the judges in her Qulaifying rounds. She won 2-1.... weird. Lol
@@DrSpoculus no they weren’t. 9 independent judges from all around the world , none from Australia .
