I have been watching you videos for some time now.. and I just have to say.. as a first time mom to be 15 weeks pregnant. Im sitting here with a pen and paper writing down all this information. It might seem like a bit much but I don’t have a mother willing to sit down taking time to teach me. This channel is honestly the mom or big sister I have never had. People like to poke fun at vlog channels.. this information is so educational for so many woman who weren’t lucky enough to have that mother figure in their lives. I’m going to be a better mother for it.. and that’s because people like yourself are willing to take the slack and put yourself out there to educate others. I appreciate you for that Nicole. Congratulations to yourself Matt and Sage on your second baby!
Dear Nikole: Where were you 27 and 24 years ago when I had both my kids. I had very little help in latching properly when breast feeding and pumping as well as the right bras and of course the nipple pain and what to do. Thank goodness there is someone like you who is helping so many mothers to navigate breastfeeding. For the record, I did leak with both my boys. I would hear a baby cry in the store, and I would start to leak. So thank you Nikole for this video.
Okay brb while I go cry 😢 this is so sweet and honestly my mom says stuff like this all the time that she wishes there was TH-cam when she was raising us
Little one is three weeks old, your videos gave me the confidence to get pregnant and make it through pregnancy. And we literally just visited the lactation consultant today to work on latch. It's been a crazy journey! I love that this is the first video I see as soon as I got home!
Great, detailed video. You covered how much work it is to breastfeed and that's why it is so rewarding. Yes you will cry when the breastfeeding comes to an end. I did.
I had my first baby 3 months ago and I seriously needed this video back then (it still is very interesting to hear you talk about a LOT of things I went through and hadn’t heard about before I did)! I had soooo many problems with breastfeeding and I stuck to it anyway! Things are definitely better now but if only you had made this video 3 months ago… anyway thanks for your amazing content here and on Instagram ! Xx
Thanks for speaking honestly and sharing the reality of breastfeeding. I am also part of the no leak club so far. I don't know if I will leak later but with my three week old i have seen them leak this far. It been so nice to follow your journey with motherhood as I am a first time mom myself. It's helpful to see what's to come. Your doing a great job!
When it comes to sagging you can put your hands together and do pulse chest exercises (no weights needed). They really help after having my 5 kids i dont have sagging. Little things like this helps alot.
No leaking here! I was also shocked by it and was fully stocked with all the breast pads. I used them probably for about 2 weeks at night and then my milk regulated and I haven’t needed them since. So thankful!
Thank you for making this video for all new mamas out there. I wish I could've watched something like this when I first gave birth to my little one (he's now 2 months) as it would have probably made breastfeeding a bit easier to navigate. But I'm glad that this video is now out there for others to watch and help them have more confidence with their breastfeeding journey.
This is really really helpful since I'm becoming a mother very soon... My due date has passed 4 days ago, so I'm already really impatient to meet our little girl 🥰
Not sure if it’s mentioned in the video but having your baby check for tongue and lip ties will make a huge difference! My first daughter had multiple ties in her mouth which made our BF journey extremely difficult and we didn’t know until she was 3 months. So when I had my second daughter we had the pediatrician in the hospital check and fix her tongue tie before we left the hospital and it made a huge difference!
Absolutely love this video! My little girl is 6 weeks old and when she came into this world, she also didn’t have a problem latching her first time and actually nursed for 30 mins. 🥳
Hi Nicol, i watched you already when I was pregnant so I knew that I might not leak so I didn't buy anything for my leaking nippels. Thank God 🙏 because i also didn't / don't leak! And I have had experienced exactly the same.... what you were saying about full-stone hard and painful breasts. Now after more then 3 weeks of breastfeeding is everything in order and I do not have pain. I wish someone would have told me before. Thank you! I watch you every day with my 26 days old son.
I've breast fed all 3 of my babies... Currently feeding #3... I leaked a good bit with #1 and #2... Like soaking breast pads at times but with #3... I do not think I've leaked at all... I was amazed after experiencing so much the first 2 times...
I honestly find your chewy Granola bars are amazing for breast milk production!! Made some for my sister when she was due and she asks me for a batch each week. I swap the almonds for a berry mix for her though 🙈 honestly the best!
I didn't leak with my first until he started backing off of feedings and depending more in solids, but with my second I do occasionally but still pretty minimally. What I didn't know is that I could use a haaka even though I didn't leak. Using it with my second and it's amazing just to build a small freezer supply without much effort.
Baby boy is 2.5 weeks old and he was a natural latcher which I'm so thankful for. I've been using silverettes since I was in the hospital and have had no issues so far. I was so worried about milk supply in the first week I was eating boobie bars (one a day) and I ended up with so much milk, an overactive letdown and so much leaking. I'm not sure if it's because it's been a bit longer and my body has adjusted or that I stopped eating boobie bars 5 days ago but things are much more in balance now.
When my nipples got chapped I would just rub breastmilk on it. That stuff is liquid gold. Ear infection? Breast milk. Accidentally clipped baby's finger while cutting nails? Breast milk. Pink eye? Breast milk. I wish I was always lactating honestly. I love that my body is that amazing!
With my first I was not successful at breastfeeding (we had a rocky start with nicu where he was fed with a tube, then with a bottle for 2 weeks, meanwhile I tried to pump, but we could not sync up when I finally got him back after weeks..), but now baby no2 is coming in June, and Im determined to breastfeed her exclusively. I have watched several bf-ing courses etc, but you bf-ing videos are SO insightful and thus really helpful, also gave me much confidence that I will manage this time🥰 thank uu
I hope it’s going well for you! I just had my second 2 weeks ago and she’s a much better eater and easier to BF than my first. He had a lip tie and tongue tie, and was just a very fussy eater so I had to exclusively pump which I hated
Leaking is definitely a thing. I had to buy the disposable pads for my bra the entire time I was pumping - I lasted 9 months with my first child and hoping to make it to a year with baby number 2, on the way now. At first, I used washable pads for my bra to catch leaks, but they got moldy and I had to deal with thrush. Disposable was the way to go for me - could be since I live in Hawaii where it is humid and mold grows quickly.
Thanks for explaining what a milk bleb is, dealing with one right now. I had to feed on the other side and pump with this one, feeding my little one felt like i had just started breast feeding it was so sore!
I know it’s uncomfortable but I tried to nurse on the bleb side as much as I could to unclog it. It’s almost like a good pain because it feels like it’s helping to unclog it. At least it did for me but maybe yours is stubborn!
I have a 2 month old boy (our first!) and have had SUCH a journey with breastfeeding already. I’m on my 3rd bout of mastitis from plugged ducts (which I’ve done everything imaginable to try and prevent/treat as soon as they start). I’m also like you in that I produce a TON of milk and have a very fast flow. I’m not as lucky as you to say that I don’t leak though because I definitely do. I used to leak periodically during the day, just randomly whereas now I leak from the opposite breast that my son feeds on. Thank you so so much for making this video! There’s absolutely not enough information on breastfeeding for women today which I find just so so sad seeing as it’s so beneficial to both mom and baby ☺️
Deep latch technique! If I didn’t get that technique recommended to me by my LC, I’m not sure I would have had nipples left on my body with my daughter 😆 . Also, I think you’re talking about APNO (all purpose nipple ointment) and it’s a life saver!!! Once the nipples crack or bruise that cream made such a difference.
I also never leaked! First time mom. I was so shocked and also had alllll the pads ready to go. Ended up donating them. I also never became engorged or feel anything different when my milk came in, so I guess everyone's experience is different! I knew because when I expressed, it looked like milk rather than colostrum. And baby had started swallowing after every suck rather than every 4-5 sucks. Love your channel!
I breastfed my two babies…my girl for 9 months and my boy for 15 months…and I loved it. I always said breast milk is fast food. Lol. My suggestion for sore cracked nipples is soaking your nipples in warm saltwater. Omg, it was a lifesaver. When my nipples got to a point where it brought me to tears to breastfeed…I’ll soak them and by the next morning, my nipples were good as new.
Also, i would advise anyone to make sure the hosp checks baby for lip/tounge ties. They did wth all but my last and he ended up needing surgery, he also got thrush so it messed up my supply and i couldnt keep up with his demand. Praying i have no problems this time
Hi Nikole! I'm 5 weeks postpartum and I have the same issue with a forceful letdown to the point where my little one always chokes while feeding. It's to the point where I need to be surrounded by towels to catch the leakage. When did your letdown slow down? Thank you for all your helpful mommy videos!
I also had this problem. Mine balanced around 7 weeks. Keep going your doing great 😊 it’s so worth it. I used the haaka to take off 2-3ounces before latching baby which helped take the pressure off
Great video! I like your content. Watching it occasionally for years, and now more often since I made my channel last year. Keep up the good work, and I also heard that your friends with NikkiVegan, who is someone I adore too. Both of you are excellent.
Im pregnant with my 5th child and ive never been able to exclusively breast feed but i want to so much. Im only 11 weeks but im trying to prepare and get as much lnowledge as possible.
I loved this video! I’m 4 weeks behind you and sage with my little one, and have gone through a pretty similar experience to you! I also haven’t ever leaked 😂

Omg I am a new mum my boy is 3weeks and I am experiencing it all haha! My baby girl is now 4 months old and I’m EBF and I haven’t had any leaking either ! Only when she started sleeping through the night really early on a few times I woke up and had leaked but otherwise nothing ! It’s sooo nice not having to stuff my bra when out and about or worry about leaking through tops lol
Thanks for sharing :) I didn't really leak either! My 8MO also refuses to take a bottle too which makes it hard to leave be with anyone without me there.. Any tips that you found work or does Sage refuse altogether?
I only leaked for the first month, so grateful for that! Haha breasts are definitely more sensitive, mine start to hurt when I hear baby cry😂 Great video, super informative!
Thanks so much for making this video mama & for keeping it REAL! ✨ You’re amazing and this video will be so helpful for first time breastfeeding mamas! 👏 I’m currently breastfeeding my 2nd (8 months old) and I breastfed my 1st for almost 2 years & I wouldn’t change it for the world either! 🥰 Even if my boobies will never be the same lol 😉
Sooo jealous you never dealt with leaking. I leak SO bad. 🙈 Even with nursing pads I leak through my bras and shirts. I go through 3 bras in one night 🙃
We never ended up opening the box so I donated it. I can’t remember where we bought it but I know it was form a store that shipped from Europe. If you google you’ll find a few options that ship European brands to Canada since it’s a common thing. I just find the selection in Canada is slim.
Oh my god, thank you so much for this video. A massive help to a first time parent looking to exclusively 🤱. When you explained about your milk coming in and your boobs being engorged and hard, did you have to express any off before Sage could latch or did you feed through them being hard?
I did leak with my son I gave up breastfeeding after a month it was to painful no one helped me I’ve learnt a lot more from TH-cam & breastfeeding videos more then the nurses they forced me to latch and made it feel weird my next baby I’ll breastfeed
I can’t just wear a bra & cardigan around the house unfortunately I’ve got 3 teen nephews we have looked after since 2012 I wore a feeding top when I did breastfeed my son who’s turning 5 😢
It's so nice having women talking about this on youtube! This is gonna help a lot of new moms 😍❤️
Thank you!

I've heard raw milk helps mamas milk supply
Thank you 💛

Damn you’re so lucky that you don’t ever leak - it’s no fun waking up on a soaked sheet every morning😅🙈

Frankenstein titties 😂 OMG I’m dead ☠️ But in all seriousness thank you for posting this. It was very helpful/insightful to this momma to be. #38wks
Hi
Soon to be mom here, this might be a dumb question. But do we just feed baby formula until your milk comes in?
The colostrum is all they need! Their tummy is the size of a marble/pea
I leaked in the beginning and still leak sometimes if I haven’t breastfed in a while.
