    Mrs. Doubtfire is a 1993 American comedy-drama film, directed by Chris Columbus and written for the screen by Randi Mayem Singer and Leslie Dixon, based on the novel Alias Madame Doubtfire by Anne Fine. It stars Robin Williams (who also served as a co-producer), Sally Field, Pierce Brosnan, Harvey Fierstein, and Robert Prosky. It follows a recently divorced actor who dresses up as a female housekeeper to be able to interact with his children. The film addresses themes of divorce, separation, and the effect they have on a family.

    The best actor of all time in my opinion, I was heartbroken when he left this world, it really isn't the same without him. He was so loved by all of us here, my kids loved him from hook and obv Mrs doubt fire, my husband and I love Mrs doubt fire but his stand up was the funniest laugh yourself into tummy ache and out of breath brilliant! Well done Scott and also I agree I don't think it would have been right to go to his home either. As always great video

    Great video, Scott! Such a beautiful tribute to Robin Williams. I loved the story of you making Robin Williams laugh in an elevator. Not many people get the chance to meet such an iconic man in comedy, let alone make them laugh. Amazing, man. These filming location videos really take you back in time and put you in the movie. I’ve felt that with the handful of filming locations I’ve visited. It’s like no matter how much movie locations change as time passes, the feeling is exactly the same. You’re the man, Scott!

    My Robin Williams moment: many years ago my roommate, Dave and I had planned to go see Windtalkers. Then he called and said "Fuck Windtalkers, we're going to see Robin Williams!!" (he was performing at The Hummingbird... Or the Sony Centre, or whatever that theatre on Front St was called, I've lost track it's changed so many times) ANYWAY. Dave had been walking past the theatre that afternoon and dropped in to see if there were any last minute tickets (as it had been sold out) and someone had JUST cancelled their seats for the night so he grabbed them. Amazing, brilliant show. Afterwards I dragged us to the stage door and about an hour after he came out. Of course there was a crush of people, but I did get an autograph and managed to say to him "Robin, thank you for being here!" And he said "Thank YOU for being here."

    You are making me cry, Mr. Scott on Tape! You know I never cry, right?? 😁 That is such a beautiful place, stunning architecture. I went to SFSU. Didn't know they'd named that tunnel for him. He was often at the SF Giants ball games. I think he loved SF because people left him alone a bit more. He also had a stunning house in the wine country. Billy Crystal says he misses him just as much now. What a awesome memory for you- you made him have a great laugh. So cool. Patch Adams was also one of my favorites.

    • @SCOTTONTAPE
      @SCOTTONTAPE  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you Verna . I think I heard about that house out in wine country, did he still own it at the time of his death ? What a beautiful city to go to school in. Although the traffic stressed me out , I did indeed love San Francisco. And Patch Adams was great as well. My late father loved that movie and it holds a special place in my heart. And meeting Robin Williams was thrilling. I literally froze when he got on the elevator and then my friends and I started talking and Robin was in the middle of us and damned if I can’t remember what I said to him but it made him laugh and I’ll never ever forget that moment in time. Thank you for your continued support for my channel V.

      Hi..It was up for sale at the time he passed. The realtor had a you tube video showing the entire place. I forget what he was asking for it. One room had the most beautiful pattern of different woods & if I remember correctly it had a R W in the middle. He was so incredible! I love watching his visits to the Johnny Carson show. Mork night was never missed at our house. Your memory of that time in the elevator is a treasure. I wish you could remember what you said but totally get why you're blank. That was a LIFE moment. Great video, again.

That was fun in itself bc of her 5 y/o animations. She would say piss off Lou, & I just could not hold lol back! She does it perfectly in synchronicity with Robin. Hi Scotty. I love this one. It brought so many memories back. The series Happy Days was shown in Australia in the late 70’s and I clearly remember Mork meeting Fonzie and the rest of the gang for the first time, and the first Nanoo Nanoo. Then the series Mork and Mindy a little later. It was so much fun and just could not stop laughing at the antics of Robin Williams, the most talented actor and a wonderful human being. I still remember Sean singing the theme song of Happy Days when he was a little tacker. (Little tacker is a young kid in the Australian Vernacular) He did say Appy Days though. The kids one by one as they appeared loved Happy Days and Mork and Mindy. Till today whenever we get together these shows are always on the menu. I have seen quite a few movies starring Robin Williams which I have enjoyed thoroughly. Mrs. Doubtfire being my favourite. Your video was awesome. So glad you visited the house. Didn’t notice it much in the movie but seeing it with you was different. It is so beautiful with its ornate architecture. The tunnel named after him is so cool. So sad Robin passed away so soon. His talent, his wit and the person he was will never be forgotten. Thanks Scotty. As always love from the family and me❤️✌🏼💕

      Hi my dear sweet Karen. So nice to hear from you. I hope all is well down in Australia and I have fond memories of happy days as well. My father loved the show and I loved it as well. That’s so funny how Sean pronounced happy. In my next video I make fun of my Canadian accent a lot so hopefully all of you get a kick out of that. Please let Sean know that I will be writing back to him soon. I’ve been stuck at work all weekend and editing in my spare time. Robin Williams was one of my favourites and still is. I just watched one hour photo today while I was editing a new video. Sometimes I have stuff running In the background as I edit or I have music going, sometimes I need complete silence. Well I never get complete silence with a certain furry little creature always demanding my attention! Give my love to everyone and isn’t the wedding coming very soon?

    Hey Scotty, man I havent seen this movie since its release. I need to watch it again with the fams. And yes as Mum said we loved Robin Williams in Mork & Mindy. What a great show! As the silly and funny things he used to do made a little Sean laugh his head off, especially when he used to sit on the couch upside down 😂 It was a big shock to us when he passed as another of TV and big screens greats had left us. And yes Happy Days, were Mork and more importantly, Robin started his career. We still record the show on series tag and watch Happy Days right now as it stills plays on TV. They were the best times of TV with good wholesome fun and nearly every show had a little lesson or morals to the story. The Mrs Doubtfire's house is such a awesome looking house. They dont make them like that anymore. Great work Bro and take care!

I've seen RV a bunch of times before. But that night. I had a feeling that something bad was going to happen to someone in the film. Truly awesome video, Scott. We have the Mrs. Doubtfire movie and watch it occasionally. It's crazy funny. But, my favorite Robin Williams movie is Jakob the Liar. He was experiencing something we didn't know about, and he must have wanted the pain to stop. I had an Uncle who hung himself, and I never had the opportunity to tell him goodbye. Suicide is hard for the survivors because we don't understand their situation. Williams was an all time great actor, and made memorable movies, but above the fame, he was human. That is the hardest thing to be. We have complexities and limitations. If life is a gift, why can't it be returned? But, once again, I love this video. Thank you, Scott.

    Cool, you made the master laugh in an elevator. I put off watching his darker roles for a long time. In my mind, he would never be convincing. Turns out he excelled at anything and everything he did. I will share your video on my Adventureland Video page to mark the 30th anniversary of this movie. Sending peace and love for the holidays my friend. ♥
