I wish this video had come out last year, I had to fire my first client and it ended really badly for me to keep me demotivated for several months. But also in the long run looking back I definitly dodged a bullet from that client.
Oh dear.. Hopefully this helps now at least! I think everyone will agree that we've all had that nightmare client at the start, but you also need those clients to learn how to prevent it in the future also! So having that positive outlook now is really beneficial!

Wow thanks so much! Great suggestion, maybe we do a more 'serious side' playlist? What would you call it? We do have a few playlists on our channel but they're more around pricing, getting clients etc!

Really useful video! One question - how does a SOW relate to a freelancer/client contract? There seems to be quite a bit of overlap in their content. Do you generally hit clients with both of these at the same time when starting the project? or integrate them together somehow? Thanks for the great content!
Thanks so much! A statement of work is purely based around the work, so the deliverables, materials etc… This is mainly to avoid any scope creep! There is some overlap in the content - the contract is a deeper dive into terms and conditions/payment information and aims to cover you if the situation changes at all. You should ideally be handing the client both at the same time, and the contract (or terms) should relate to the SOW and reference it also :) Does this help? However, as always, this is for educational use only so be sure to seek professional legal advice!
The template link doesn't work. Any chance you could update that? I'd love to use it. I've been using SOWs and they've been life-changing. They're not quite as formalized as this though, so I'm excited to try it out. Thanks!

Ok! I saw somebody else using firefox had trouble with it... i switched to Chrome and had no issue... weird.

also - always reiterate a verbal back to the client via email. "Just to confirm. We are now doing x/y/z"
