    I'm shocked that Primal Groudon EX didn't make the list, but Team Magma's Groudon was truly, amazing. Easily one of if not my favorite decks ever created.

    14:34 this keeps up the precedent from the video games that if Landorus Therian is allowed in a competitive format it's going to be splashed in anywhere lmao

      It's also fitting that the Machamp was from Gen 4 (DPP - Stormfront) where in singles/smogon it was actually good in OU (for the only other time than Gen 2/GSC) as a lead (or "anti-lead") thanks to No Guard Dynamic Punch and priority Bullet Punch, which is similar to its aggressive TCG playstyle

    Honorable mention to Tyrogue, who was one of the Staple Donking options in the HGSS-NVI times due to being a frequent counter to Cleffa on Turn 1 or similar tiny Basics.

    Honorable mention!
    Hitmonchan form base set was definitely the first best fighting

    Landorus EX was much better than you indicated. Not as good at first but when furious Fists dropped this card became broken and its own deck. Korrina to get it easily as well as a tool. Muscle Band, Strong Energy, Fighting Stadium or Laserbank, Hawlucha as a good backup attacker doing solid damage for 1 energy. Or Lucario EX to join it as well. But Laserbank strong energy muscle band hitting the active for 70, 130 with poison if it stayed active coming back to you then a 30 bench hit for 1 energy was just so good. Especially with Nightmarch around the corner being able to take 2 easy prizes. I believe that makes it #3 or #2

      I remember Buzzwole GX being one of the most played decks because it would set up so fast and take out so many basics. Strong energy and Regirock EX made it hard for its opponent to set up.

    It's crazy to think Archeops, being a retrain of Aerodactyl had such an impact later on, despite the fact that Aerodactyl only needed ancient fossil and a copy of it for the immediate power.

    urshifu rapid strike vmax also paired with inteleon vmax won NAIC just a few weeks ago! definitely puts it up there as one of the best fighting type cards ever

    • @gabrielcastillo9745
      @gabrielcastillo9745 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not to mention it is probably also the best VMAX ever created, and one of the most unique cards in recent years. Granted, it was super annoying to play against it pre rotation, specially since it was legal during a short time with no bench barrier.

    • @nothuman938
      @nothuman938 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mew Vmax is probably the strongest Vmax imo especially when it was released

    • @gabrielcastillo9745
      @gabrielcastillo9745 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nothuman938 Mew VMAX is not by itself a crazy strong card. Is is the archetype itself that is broken, specially Genesect

    • @nothuman938
      @nothuman938 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @gabrielcastillo9745 it’s the face of the archetype and the main attacker. If an archetype is strong I’d consider the main cards in it strong as well, even if they don’t work outside the archetype.

    Im shocked to see a lack of buzzwole (normal one with sledgehammer) or primal groudon on this list. Primal groudon ex was a staple of control style decks for a long time and sledgehammer buzzwole, to be entirely honest here, was quite a bit better than buzzwole gx.
    I really dont think lycanrock or urshifu should have made the list tbh. Lycanrock was thought to be good for awhile because players weren't great with the guzma double switching but towards the end of its life it really did just become known for being incredibly mediocre and rarely being the reason you won games. Urshifu vmax reads really good but just doesnt do super well in practice.
    Theres also a good argument for hit and run hitmonchan to be put on the list. Card got wob banned, very strong expanded deck

    • @nothuman938
      @nothuman938 ปีที่แล้ว

      If urshifu’s good enough to win naic it’s good enough to be on this list.

      @nothuman938 considering it's competing with over two decades of other card releases, no, one or two successes does not make a consistently good card

    I love your videos but I think that the main reason rapid strike urshifu is in the meta is not because single prizes inteleon, the deck instead uses inteleon V and Vmax to put spread damage across the board

    • @UncalibratedAimbot
      @UncalibratedAimbot ปีที่แล้ว

      The deck used to use the single prize Inteleon line. Inteleon V and VMax didn’t come out until later. That section of the video, while not 100% up to date, is accurate prior to the current standard format.

    Hey can someone explain to me why some of these types are different in the show and digital game but changed in the card game

    • @BenPaz
      @BenPaz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The card game only has 10 types compared to the 18 the video games and show have so sometimes types just end up shifting. The Psychic type in the card game has represented 4 different types at different times. Poison has gone from being Grass to Psychic and is now in Dark type. I would tend to think of types in the TCG as more like colors only somewhat related to the original types.

    Dude you really need to stop including expanded format into consideration. It has no tournaments anymore, no online support anymore, almost no competitive player cares about it, and as seen in this and other videos, it heavily influences your listings

      @@TheFDreamI mean he's offering his opinion. Not on the best way to do so, but he makes an interesting point.
      I personally don't mind if expanded is mentioned or not (more info = better) but I can see why he'd say Expanded may not be as relevant.

    • @BenPaz
      @BenPaz ปีที่แล้ว

      I feel like maybe this comes from this channel owner's experience with Yu-Gi-Oh where they don't really have set rotation at all so he takes the expanded format more seriously than he probably should. I've shared similar feelings in regards to how expanded factors into these rankings as well.

    • @mattabrams3841

      To be fair, these are cards compared to their metas. At the time some of these were released, Expanded was a relevant format
