Incredible. In the early 90s the Zenith, Horizon, former Dreamward and Windward (Superstar) Fantasy class ships and Sovereign class ships were all the rage. Romantica and Classica were simple Italian elegance. Cruising back the really was more refined. I do miss those old days.
The main reason so many cruise ships are being scrapped instead of being sold to another cruise line is because most of the cruise lines that bought old cruise ships have gone out of business during the coronavirus pandemic.
It feels a bit strange that Costa Romantica/Antares Experience was scrapped despite all the upgrades done to her while her older sister Costa Classica/Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, without upgrades, still lives on.
It’s a real shame it was just the wrong time for her. The classica was sold just in time Bahamas Paradise so it could have a future. I really wish they would have bought the romantica and had a two ship fleet again.
