My first (and probably last) cruise was on this ship. I think it was Feb. 1990, so she would have been brand new. I remember my hubby saying it was the biggest ship in the world (at the time). I think it had 9 floors, and took about 30 min. to walk the length at a fast clip! I remember timing it. Sorry to see it's life is over. I've got a portrait with me in a red satin cocktail dress with the Captain....those were the days!

Man... the memories. Left from New Orleans to Cozumel on the Fantasy in July, 2008. My parents let me take my best friend. He and I were 17 at the time and were going to be seniors in high school that year. Met so many cool people and had some absolutely hilarious times in Mexico. It was sad when the whole thing was over. Me, my friend and my little brothers were so bummed to say goodbye to the girls we met on the ship. I kept in touch with some of the people I met for a couple of years, but now I don't even remember their names and I lost all of the photos we took. I've since moved so many times that I've lost any kind of souvenir from that cruise 😔 As Rose from the Titanic said "Exists now only in my memory"

True story, in 1999 I was on the Fantasy for a short cruise out of Port Canaveral. My wife was very outgoing and she befriended a petit brunette in the casino and taught her how to play craps. We hung out with this woman and even snorkeled with her and her husband on the private cay. The last night of the cruise our new friend was on stage belting out a song in the amateur talent contest. The MC came on stage said ladies and gentlemen this is Ms. Shania Twain. Those were her country music days and she always had curly hair professionally. But on the cruise her hair was straight, and not being a fan neither of us recognized her.

@Dinesh Birendra Fantasy was built in 1990 so it's been sailing for 30 years. I would assume in 30 years, the number of cruises, passengers, etc it was well paid for and made a good profit for the company! That would roughly be 100 million brought in per year based on 2000 passengers @ $500 per person sailing for 300 days per year. So the rough total revenue over 30 years would have been 300 million. These are all ROUGH ROUGH numbers but they wouldn't provide the service if they didn't make a profit!
