One of the most dangerous jobs on this planet: Shipbreaker. Many injuries and deaths, training happens on the job, almost no safety equipment except maybe a hardhat, no health care, no insurance. Those men risk their life every day for recycling of metals. That deserves great respect.
they are not stupid. they are the slaves of the unsustainable quality of life for a lot of us westerners, with fake jobs, unuseful lives and a fake way of thinking about happiness. But things are changing. Either we understand that, or we all perish under nuclear fallout, soon.
And these ships and all only last around 20 or so years before being scrapped, all the resources used in building them and then tearing them apart is insane
The people and the horrible bosses that run this business will not spend $1 for any kind of PRECAUTIONARY OR SAFETY TOOL OR METHOD that can minimize injuries or death. Even a $1 protective covering on a Chisel, so the work does not accidentally hit his hand, is not present here. But I admire and salute all the hard workers here.
Breaking up of massive transport ships that supply the wealthy nations is done by workers from poor nations without regard for their safety and working conditions. Cheapskate company owners should provide basic safety gear for these hardworking men.
Hard and very dirty work. Old engine oil, leftover fuel, tons of grease under decks. The most valuable thing is the anchors made of a special metal alloy. Workers are at high risk of tetanus.
The propeller is the most valuable single piece. When you scrape a ship, they want the original drawing of the propeller to determine what metal iand exactly how heavy it is. The scrapper pays a premium on any propeller.
From what I've read, breakers like this, working on beaches are environmental disasters. As suggested by the lack of PPE they also don't worry about environmental contamination from the various oils, asbestos, lead paint etc. It is all dumped on the beach and drains into the ocean. Wouldn't want to be one of those workers. Hard, dangerous work for next to no pay.
They even haven’t safety shoes. Oil goes straight in the sea. We in the west should give these perplexed safety and health materials to give these poor people a human live. I m angry on these rich bullies

Hilarious comment, because if it wasn’t for capitalism you wouldn’t be enjoying this fine video from a capitalist TH-cam company. Or you wouldn’t have been able to type your ignorant comment on your capitalist computer or Apple device that was delivered on that capitalist boat they are dismantling. So without a capitalist society where people are rewarded with good pay for innovation you’d rather be sitting in a cave sending smoke signals. Gotcha.

The irony of man. We spent so many hours building a ship, then we spent as many hours dismantling it.
Very very nice ship ❤❤ Have a great video

It was a complete nightmare trying to break down that enormous object using a blowtorch, a hammer, and a chisel. Thank you for sharing💖💪

When I win the lottery, I'm buying all these guys Red Wing, steel-toe work boots, PPE, and leather gloves.
paj-eets don't know the difference man. They would just crap in them and scrap the metal in the shoe.
Right!? Me too! I really hope you win the lottery. But not on the same day I do. 🤑

I would have thought it was the copper in the motors or the actual propeller.
