honestly Haytham's book made for an interestin book so the why not make a game out of haythams life in his search for jenny

I think that it's pretty obvious that Haytham left his guard down on purpose.
The scene in the game indicates it and the book indicates it more than once in Haythams thoughts.

It's kind of sad that Edward, this humble kick ass pirate with all those adventures behind him, who commandeered countless Man 'O Wars, died so easily at his own home... His adventures were so great and memorable and tragic in the end... it kind of makes me feel sad :/

Haythem could have killed Connor with his double blade, however he did not want to kill his son he wanted him to calm him down and make him see reason

damn it I hate how they maked the fight between them in the game because even after he killed his father he leave him like a dog and say goodbye father witout close his eyes or something, from the start why they did this why they couldn't live toghter or change one another mind damn it. nice book though.

I think Haythem leave a CLEAR opening open for Conor to notice and take advantage of an end Haythem, Haythem is too smart too good to good at noticing small details to fuck a kill up
