Honestly my only big problem I have is that they gave Murret one of the harder typing quirks to read and also made him talk with a lot of slang and acronyms; making his lines hell to read. It's like if they had Terezi talk like Dave does, but with her existing typing quirk.
Though I may not be so eager to read Vast Error yet due to wanting to keep my focus on Homestuck and Hiveswap/Hauntswitch, I can't help but imagine it popping up in the Earth C Universe as a popular webcomic in the Troll Kingdom. Imagine all that delicious potential for meta-humor jokes involving the real life Homestuck fandom, including but not limited to Dave and Karkat talking about it with the other characters, cosplayers at conventions, random people in the streets carrying merchandise and more!

I don't know if I'm actually the first one here but I'VE BEEN SO EXCITED TO SEE THIS I LOVE VAST ERROR! All of the characters are so well thought out already, and the dedication put into the comic is phenomenal. I'm so excited to see what you have to say about it!
Not Just Another Homestuck [NJAH] the unfortunates who sold their soul to Hussie? Fuck- let’s hope Disney doesn’t try to get Hussie to sell HIS soul to them!
I was here at the beginning of Vast Error and I could immediatly tell it was gonna be something. This webcomic was extremely good at giving a different mood than homestuck wjile making clear it was heavily inspired.
I just recently got into Vast Error and I absolutely love it! I was never into the trolls when reading homestuck, but Vast Error's characters are all really super interesting and I'm excited to learn more about them. I also love the social commentary considering what's going on in the country today, @.@ I never noticed the pop culture references though (I'm a little socially blind sometimes as I tend to be a bit of a hipster lol.) I can't wait to see where it goes.
I always wanted to make my own webcomic, and the reason is because of Homestuck. But I never quite have the confidence to do so. I draw and draw, think and ponder on how the story would play out but when it comes down I can never do it. I mean I am going to be doing this by myself. I don't have a team of music artists (hell I don't even know how to make music) and I don't even know how to animate. But "Vast Error" was my shining light. I want to do something like "Vast Error" and I will keep practicing until I feel like I can do it.
I'm currently just over 400 pages in myself and, while the concepts it presents are intriguing, the way it executes itself leaves much to be desired. There's too many exposition dumps, even from the characters that I find my eyes glazing when they talk about what parts are obviously the plot. I don't care about the characters as much as I should. Which is a shame, because when the characters aren't talking about the game or they're mysterious pasts, they're very fun to read. Murrit and Dismas, for example, are two I can't wait to see again because we got to see them interact in their element. The chats I've seen between Ellsee and Occeus have a tense, yet caring vibe, and When TAZ and Arcjec went off on each other, it felt real and uncomfortable and I loved it and wanted to know more. It's a shame that that kind of wanting is the problem I have with the story. I feel like the writers wanted to get to the big plot points too fast, and it makes reading it a bit of a drag. It's hard to care about characters in turmoil when you don't know who they are. It's hard to be interested in a story when all the info you get about it is from exposition. I will do my best to keep reading, though. The comic does have potential.
I have the same problem with the comic, I like it and I find it interesting... but the execution is too rough. I don’t really understand what exactly is going on for the most part, since the dialoguelogs tend to go on and on with little to offer in terms of plot and character development :/
Like OD said in the video, it does get better in the later acts as there's more foward movement and less exposition. I think its spinoffs (Snowbound Blood and Thaumatrope) are better in my opinion (at least in terms of characters). To be frank, I find VE to be kinda overhyped... it's good but not as great as it could be. At least in terms of a "next-gen Homestuck" experience But with all that said though, nothing will ever replace the OG Homestuck for me. Even despite the... yikes moments... I find I enjoy the characters and story way more and will always keep coming back to it
Actually the [S] Elsee: Dance Out Your Frustrations randomly popped out and I got attached to Blood Right, then the other [S] animations started appearing and in one night i've made A LOT of progress in one sitting.
