It’s so important to be precise when engaging in discussions like this. There’s so much more that could be said, but with the limited time we had, I couldn’t touch on everything. I do want to add a few important sentiments for anyone watching. Please, if you encounter a Jehovah’s Witness, treat them with love and respect. Most of them are unaware of the problematic elements within the religion, which are perpetuated by its leadership. They have not been equipped to deconstruct or critically examine what they’ve been taught, as their publications portray independent and critical thinking as dangerous and to be avoided. The average member is doing the best they can with the tools they’ve been given, so extend to them the same grace and kindness you would to anyone else. I also want to emphasize that the cycle of shame, guilt, and shunning embedded in JW doctrine and culture can be broken. My wife and I, for instance, experience shunning from our JW relatives, but this is not a pattern we will ever pass down to our children. They will never have to worry about being cut off from us if they choose a different path in life. We can love them unconditionally, putting that love above loyalty to a man-made organization. To anyone who is PIMQ or PIMO, I want you to know that the power to break free from the generational trauma caused by the Watchtower’s ever-changing rules and practices lies with you. It can end with you, and a different kind of future-one rooted in love and grace-is possible. “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” -1 John 4:7-8 (NLT)

Yes that’s what makes it so difficult because we really love some of these people. They don’t have a choice if they don’t shun us they can be disfellowshipped. No freedom of speech.
So how did you get your wife to wake up? Was she already leaning that way? My wife knows i don't believe everything they say and i tell her i don't accept anything they don't have a scripture to back up. She still thins i view them as being used by God even though i only believe this at a very basic level just like i believe anyone can be used by God to draw them to him. While her perception is that I think they are specifically chosen. She agrees with some of my reasoning but is still very indoctrinated and usually stops me any time i have something "negative" to say.
Beautifully written! I was a jw for 32 years....served in the congregation....worked on the RBC....I was a regular pioneer for several years....I started questioning doctrine in 2015 with the generation teaching and change....that was the starting crack....then in 2017 when they came out in a watchtower saying the governing body wasn't inspired....I remember reading that and my jaw dropping because that's not how we were taught at the hall! But I thought thinking to myself...how can you be spirit directed and not be inspired 🤔......I grew my beard in 2018.....oh boy....I took some crap on that one!! I was counciled for starting divisions 😂 for wearing a beard!! They got upset because I got alot of compliments on my beard from the friends....I finally left in 2020....I got all my kids out! Unfortunately some of my siblings are shunning me....all my jw friends shun me....I wasn't even disfellowshipped! So glad to be out serving the real Christ! Not watchtowers version of Christ

So happy to hear that! I too was raised from birth, and I left 5 years ago at the age of 60. Of course along with it there are regrets, like my raising my kids in it and then getting shunned by them, which really hurts. But I keep my hopes up for them to eventually wake up too. @ yeah well my son is a very deep thinker and he started questioning things in the 90s but we just kept hanging on finally just got to be too much. So at least I don’t have much of the family thing going on some cousins but it’s not the same as your family.so I feel for you I can’t imagine going through that this is hard enough
Thanks greatly for this fine interview. I was an elder for almost 4 decades. The organisation's disdain for Higher education became so unbearable and disgusting for my family. Many of my friends that had children in colleges were penalized with disgraceful step downs as elders, ministerial servants, pioneers, etc. So many of them had since left.Yet these hypocritical clowns called GB spend our donations to sponsor their men to study law in various colleges in US. Their new lawyers are sent to defend the organisation's horrendous safeguarding of child sex Abusers from within. What a deplorably disgusting organisation it is!
My own experience with the JW hypocrisy over education took place many years ago, but it was one of the things that feuled my decision to leave. When I graduated high school, the woman who studied with me, an elder’s wife, sidled up to me one day and said very point blank “you’re not going to university, you do understand it’s not allowed?” This same couple sent their two sons to university and there wasn’t one thing ever said about it! That elder was never told to step down, he served for many years, well into old age. Several years later I left the cult, filed for divorce from an abusive JW husband and enrolled in nursing school. Soon that hypocritical elder and his university educated ministerial servant son came to visit me and threaten to announce I was “unfit association” if I didn’t immediately go back to my husband. They made their announcement and I went on, free of the suffocating BS of the Watchtower religion, to glory in learning a profession and feel the relief of real education in the real world!! Watchtower is beyond despicable and two faced to destroy the futures and well being of countless people by their education ban while paying for the education of lawyers, nurses and other healthcare providers and techies needed in their HQ!
I've recently after 20 years as an elder. I never agreed with the policy on university. I used to give the Public Talk on Education, but eventually dropped it as I just didn't agree with what I was teaching. Since leaving I see the GB's wickedness for what it is.

I relate with all spoken here. My husband and I woke up too almost together. I woke up in 2018 and my husband in 2020. Thanks for this awesome video Will be sharing it with my husband. We have decided to read the Bible, believe in Jesus and our Heavenly Father. We respect others, stopped the criticizing others on their life styles that we did so many times as JWs, we believe in charity and try to be better persons everyday umong other things we have adapted. What an excellent interview!! Some of the points that Bleau made are just outstanding like when he talked about how the organization is synonymous with Jehovah. I love how he and his wife haven't lost their faith but their on a journey of discovery and finding out who Jesus really is. I'm on the same path and it has it's ups and downs but mostly it's fun and enjoyable. His point as well about feeling violated 😭 that's an accurate description. For the most part you feel like an idiot that something like this happened to you and it's also embarrassing to a degree. But when you've been born into this it isn't so simple. Recovering from such an experience takes time and a lot of guidance from God and the Holy Spirit. But I trust eventually I will get to where I'm supposed to be. Once again.. This was an outstanding interview. I absolutely loved it. I pray this channel grows and reaches more people so they can come out of darkness.

I was married for 30 years and when I woke up my wife wrote me a letter left it on the kitchen table. She moved out and one elder helped her out with the move. All I want ed was my freedom. After 6 weeks she moved back in. I am really mad about the way this went down.
I love to hear about people who have not only escaped the cult but have also come to know the true Biblical gospel. Only God can open the blind eyes of unbelievers and help them sort through all of the lies and move forward in truth. These stories give me hope for the JWs I have witnessed to and continue to pray for.

I am a born in JW. A few months ago I made the mistake of telling my wife my findings and explained my doubts to her regarding the organization. She immediately turned on me and demanded a divorce. She told me that if i wasn’t in this all the way then she didn’t want to stay with me. We went to couples therapy for months with no hope to save our marriage. We had been together for 6 years. We met in the kingdom hall. I told her i would continue to support her by attending the meetings and give her all the time she needed but she couldn’t see me the same anymore and said our marriage was over. I love my wife and couldn’t believe how quickly she cut me off like I was nothing. This religion is so vile. Any love within it is 100% conditional. The second you’re no longer with the program, you’re expelled no matter who you are.

Sorry to hear this brother. It happened to me too and she was extremely abusive to me on top of it. That aside, her biggest hang up was me not agreeing with them, yet in her mind she was justified in her abuse to me. I can’t and will never figure them out and I pray you find your way and a woman who will love you unconditionally. It is very difficult and I really am sorry you have to go through this.
My wife and I sent in our DA letters last month and are having a hard time getting them to announce it. 2 elders keep asking questions and showed up un-announced yesterday morning. We told them we had no interest in meeting with them and don't want to be contacted again.

There are plenty of verses in the Bible about putting God first, even if it causes division amongst families. You must either be ignorant of those verses, deliberately turning a blind eye to them, or the Bible just goes completely over your head. Not meaning to single you out: My comment is directed to everyone who's expressed similar ideas to yourself.
@@mattgardiner614 it's important to put God first but putting God first doesn't mean kicking out your children from home because of a small error or sin all because a group of mummies from New York told you to do it. That is ungodly. God forgives instantly. Not in 6 months, 1 year etc. God forgives even if we dont deserve it. Example when Peter denied Jesus 3 times, Jesus didnt shun him or had him removed. He forgave him even though he didnt deserve it.

I loved this interview!!! I would like to tell this wonderful young man that the Catholic Church and the JW’s are very similar. 1) The Catholics have one Pope and the JW’s have 9 popes. 2) The Catholics also believe that they are the only religion that has “the truth”. I grew up Catholic, steer clear of this one!

I think giving yourself grace and recognizing your emotions is so important firstly. Then deconstructing the witness beliefs and separating them from your personal beliefs. Perhaps you don’t know what to believe? Then I would sort out (in your head or physically noting them) what beliefs you definitely don’t believe, you’re unsure about, and what you do believe. Then I would start listening reading and researching the Bible itself via different translations (YouVersion Bible App is great for that) as well as Bible scholars such as Tim Mackey, NT Wright, etc and lastly supplementing with TH-cam commentaries or Christian apologetics such as light over dark ministries. I would also say approaching your research with a sense of curiosity and exploration rather than a rigid framework that is difficult to move. Lastly and seemingly unrelated I would encourage you to rebuild your support system outside of the organization. Even if you’ve been out for years some don’t rebuild and they stay isolated but I think connecting with others is vital to keeping your spirits up. Hopefully you can glean something helpful from this comment. Best of luck on your adventure through life and faith

I was just like you for 15 years. I carried my JW bible in my car & didn’t know how to escape! I still believed in God though. I finally got brave enough to visit a few different nondenominational churches. ( They are all a bit different & you will know when you find a good fit) After about the 5th one, I knew God had led me there. So I told the pastor who I was & needed someone to sit down with me & show me EVERY JW doctrine that was not biblical & why!! What an eye opener that was! For awhile I felt like I was in a different country & I didn’t speak their language, but eventually I made it to the other side! If you are still a believer, start searching for a good BIBLE BASED, CHRIST CENTERED church. And then, get involved, make friends, and ask for help if needed! That’s my problem, I love God so much but I’m having trouble trusting any religion or teacher But also isolating is not helping me at all I don’t know what to do now I’m having trouble even reading the scriptures without it causing anxiety Because the legs are still shaky Their doctrine goes deep and I realized that I didn’t even know Jesus I don’t know Jesus like I should and now I don’t know what to believe and I’m really nervous that I may give up However this interview has helped tremendously Thank you for your story❤

I didn’t know who to trust, who I can believe, I had such worry and anxiety like I never experienced before and just the constant question of how do I know this is more true than the other? This person might believe this is true but I thought the same thing about the JW until now. The constant fear and doubt was exhausting. But truly the only answer is Jesus. He is the way, he is the truth and the life. Open your heart to him in prayer, invite him in, and into your life. He will guide and help you 💖🙏🏻💖 God was so patient with me, and showed me time and time again who he is. And I still had doubts 😅 Only through opening my heart to Jesus and inviting him in, and praying and eventually reading the bible did that change. Jesus saved me, my husband my mother and brother. We still have family in the organization but I pray for them everyday and believe he will move in their lives just as he did in ours. I do agree with other comments about finding a non denominational church but it is also ok to take a break and deconstruct yourself and your beliefs from the JW teachings. Connect with local groups that participate in hobbies you share. The library is a great resource, pickleball is a very welcoming and accessible sport, FB has many groups you can join. Get involved in your community, volunteer at a soup kitchen or animal shelter or cleaning up the city. Anything that can rebuild your life and friendships and connections. Go outside of your comfort zone. And while I do encourage you to return to Christ, sometimes we need to fully separate from the JWs. When you do start listening to sermons or pastors or attending church, listen critically and listen to your gut. Does what they’re saying make sense? Very interesting quote from the 1981 WT around the 19:00 mark, complaining about certain ones who "say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home," and throwing the "apostate" label out there. This article was lashing out against Ray Franz and Ed Dunlap who were meeting together with small groups of personal friends to read the Bible together. And who, incidentally, were noticing that many of the teachings and policies of the GB were unscriptural.

I studied with them for a year. There is a lot of good. There were a handful of things I couldn’t reconcile, like no college, no Christmas, birthdays etc. i just wanted to study the gospel. I finally stopped when it was forbidden to say the word “leader.” Historically, Restricting language has SO MANY implications and oddly that’s the thing that hit me hard.

Good question. I struggled with that as well in studying. While God in the OT seems overly wrathful, Jesus too talk about hell more than heaven. It’s easy to overlook how merciful he was over and over again. There’s a great book called “Is God a Moral Monster”. By Paul Copen, I can’t recommend it enough, especially dealing that issue and more.

Great interview. I left a couple years ago and am now an atheist. Nothing to do with being hyper critical, I just held the same level of requirements for this belief as I do for any other belief I have and I found the Bible doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. Glad it still holds up for you and you derive hope from it.
I left the LDS Brighamite cult about 2 years ago, and my husband is still "in", so I can relate... it's tough being on different paths! Gratefully we are united in all other ways, and he's a different man than many and supports me in my choices, but it's not easy!

I watched with interest your video where Blu intervenes in the conversation. When I began to study the Bible with the J.W., I asked questions without answer, only "you have to obey". I'll mention some of them: 1. Why can't I wear a beard? 2. Why I have to go to the kingdom hall in a suit and tie? 3. Why will the 1914 generation be the last to see Armageddon? 4. Why has 1975 been proclaimed as the year that perhaps the end will come? 5. Why can't a transfusion be given if necessary? 6. Why if I no longer feel like a Jehovah's Witness am I excluded from any contact with everyone? Many things have changed: 1. Now you can wear a beard! 2. Now you no longer have to go to the kingdom hall with a tie! 3. 1914 became like a ball on the foot, the latest generation was superimposed on other generations! 4. In preaching many people remember the year 1975! What nonsense! 5. There is no scripture in the Bible that talks about avoiding transfusions! 6. Now for the sake of financial losses as in the case of Norway, they have become more tolerant!

After leaving, Armageddon was a huge hurdle for me! I thought about it every day.. ugh UNTIL I learned that Armageddon is only mentioned 1 time in Revelation & it’s not talking about our destruction, but rather the destruction of Jerusalem! I now go to a great nondenominational church & really understand what grace means! I’ve been shunned for 30 years but look at it now as a blessing.. it kept me from being pulled back in by them, gave me time to deprogram & learn about a world I knew very little about! God is good 🙏🏼🎚️❣️
I ended the Bible study because of the JW disdain of higher education. I have family in the South USA who endangered their lives during the 40s - 60s civil rights era to make sure that Black people got a decent education. I also had, at the time ,2 near genius children. They were going to university come hell or high water!

University education is not required for salvation. You have to use BIble principles if you really want your kids to take university education. the main question is if they will maintain their faith in GOD after? what is more important? their salvation or money or prominence?
Bleau - if you read this, you mentioned you had difficulty accepting the divinity of Jesus. If you have the time to reply, could you explain what that process was for you, and what maybe helped you understand/accept it / the Trinity? May God bless you and your loved ones abundantly.
Hi there! Excellent question! There were certainly a lot of barriers to understanding what the trinity was. As a JW I was taught very specific reasons as to why it was false and they made total sense for me. So things like when you read about Jesus praying to the father, it was easy for me to look at that and think “trinitarians believe Jesus is praying to himself, what nonsense.” But what witnesses are taught in this regard is incorrect and not what most Christians believe. What I was actually taught was a form of the trinity called modalism, but the organization never delineated the differing views in this regard. Once I started to re-examine all my beliefs, I had the thought occur to me that “if the organization has been so wrong on so many things, could it be possible they are wrong on this?” This was an especially potent question since all Christians have been in agreement and on the same page for 2000 years, so clearly the doctrine had to have some legs to stand on. That put me on the quest on actually trying to learn and understand why Christian’s believed this and what it actually was. It takes time but there are so many helpful resources in understanding this concept, but I also read many works from the early Church fathers and how they articulated this concept. And honestly the idea is really not too far away from the JW version. There are of course differences but the right framing definitely assists in grasping it. In a way it’s actually quite simple. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all distinct persons but they are the same in substance or essence. I would simply say, do the research on the topic and look at all the references to God (YHWH, Yahweh, Jehovah) in the Old Testament being fulfilled in Jesus.

I still have a few challenges in regards to it however I do have faith which has grown exponentially since I left because I have had to rely on Jesus and the Holy Spirit in my research and NOT mens doctrines. For this I am thankful. Its amazing once we are disconnected from the matrix how the Holy Spirit will guide us.

Great interview and good story. Bleau, I appreciate you sharing and your honesty. I am happy you were able to get out with your marriage intact and able to continue this journey with your wife. That is a rare thing for a JW that leaves. This was not the case for me. Granted, my marriage fell apart primarily due to this religion as I later realized. Other issues in my marriage are what helped me to wake up to what was going on and fueled my divorce. My ex was unfaithful and had a so-called emotional affair with my JW best friend at the time. I forgave her but she blamed me for it, for something she did as the perception was, I was not doing enough for Jehovah. Her anger with herself and the situation caused her to be physically abusive towards me and I had to end the marriage it for the children's sake. I later tried working it out as I can forgive what she did, the crazy thing was she did not want to work through it because I told her I was leaving 'the Truth.' At the time I had not found Christ, and I did not know where the journey was going to take me. I told her she can continue as a JW and that we could go on this journey together. She said I scared her, yes it was scary me leaving, no accountability for the abuse though and all my fault. Not trying to be a downer here, but it is good to hear a success story because I know so many relationships that ended because of this vile religion. This faux religion that tells people to abandon their spouses because the exiting spouse can put them in 'spiritual danger.' The governing body make me sick. I too found Christ and a good church, and I really woke up to how much we were lied to. God bless you and your family.
Hello from Norway. This is very important. On behalf of a friend; her grownup daughter is in reality kept as hostage and blackmailing her mother for money. This is a very long story and we are being threathened when trying to have any contact with her or her child. We fear any kind of misuse is going on. Any money we have given her is going to the organisation. She is doing a lot of hateful attacks on certain fam members, you would not believe. Totally brainwashed. She is living in a house owned by jw elders. We need help to rescue her and the child. We try Police and cps. " Freedom of religion " , sorry, they dont see the severity. Thank you if any can help. We live in Norway.

We are! We haven’t gotten rebaptized yet but that’s mostly cause it’s winter time! We’re also taking our journey with Christ with intentionality and not swept away by emotions like the witnesses do. But true Christianity has been wonderful and refreshing. We hope for all to be united with Christ!

Viewing a lot of videos and I see there is a considerable amount of confusion and sometimes hate towards Jehovah's witnesses. Even Christ, our dear Lord never hated those who killed him. I am not a JW, but I do know a few members as I do the many different church groups in England. I believe that the true body of Christ is to be found among most of the different denominations.

Y husband and I went to NY and went to a Catholic Cathedral for the first time for my husband, since I was a Catholic! Everyone was so quiet, respecting the place and some were praying others like us just admiring the architecture! But my husband was so surprised of the ambiance!

If you can find one which has a choir (Most only have one person who sings hymns) you'll be immersed in the experience as the old ecclesiastical hymns create an atmosphere of holiness and being before God's presence. The comment sections of most exjw testimony videos I've seen lately have been filled with nasty, prideful comments from both exjws who no longer believe, and active jws who shouldn't even be here. Sad. It's good to see that Bleau and his wife both got out! And double the blessing that they kept their faith.
I agree with you in this. I can understand why people tend to have inflammatory responses to discussions like this. Exjws feel pain from learning about the organization and active JWs feel like their faith is being attacked. Maintaining civility and composure is so important when talking about something as delicate as a religious faith.

The original religion of Bible Students founded by C.T. Russell is alive and well. C.T. Russell’s original books are very relevant and are used by The Bible Students today.

I faded out a few years ago. It was a shock to realise we are not in the last days and that prophecy ended in the first century, but I realise I have to trust the Bible's time statements and not man's.

I wonder if it will become less of a minority soon as more come across various ones pointing out the context. You are worthy of life and you can make it through. The freedom and weightlessness you’ll feel once you leave is immense almost overwhelming. It is the most difficult thing you’ll likely go through but it’s so so worth it. You’ll slowly get your confidence back and you’ll find who you are as a person. You can do this! Connect with local groups that participate in hobbies you share. The library is a great resource, pickleball is a very welcoming and accessible sport, FB has many groups you can join. Get involved in your community, volunteer at a soup kitchen or animal shelter or cleaning up the city. Anything that can rebuild your life and friendships and connections. Go outside of your comfort zone. And while I do encourage you to return to Christ, sometimes we need time to fully separate from the JWs and that’s ok. Hopefully some of this helps. No contradictions in the bible? Examine the genealogy tables in Matthew and Luke, for instance. The literal inerrancy notions of the scriptures are from the 19C. Was there really a talking serpent in the garden or was Eve created from Adam's rib? Really? There's a danger of jumping out of one cult into another. There are degrees of cultishness, and The Watchtower is very high on that list. Better out than in, by far.

Second, if God exists (and thus the supernatural realm), why would you think a supernatural couldn't employ an animal (e.g., a snake) to speak to humans? You must begin with an a priori assumption that the supernatural realm doesn't exist. You must begin with the same assumption in order to criticize the creation account of humanity. You, clearly, have joined the cult of materialism and are seeking to proselytize.

There’s so much more that could be said, but with the limited time we had, I couldn’t touch on everything. I do want to add a few important sentiments for anyone watching. Please, if you encounter a Jehovah’s Witness, treat them with love and respect. Most of them are unaware of the problematic elements within the religion, which are perpetuated by its leadership. They have not been equipped to deconstruct or critically examine what they’ve been taught, as their publications portray independent and critical thinking as dangerous and to be avoided. The average member is doing the best they can with the tools they’ve been given, so extend to them the same grace and kindness you would to anyone else.
I also want to emphasize that the cycle of shame, guilt, and shunning embedded in JW doctrine and culture can be broken. My wife and I, for instance, experience shunning from our JW relatives, but this is not a pattern we will ever pass down to our children. They will never have to worry about being cut off from us if they choose a different path in life. We can love them unconditionally, putting that love above loyalty to a man-made organization.
To anyone who is PIMQ or PIMO, I want you to know that the power to break free from the generational trauma caused by the Watchtower’s ever-changing rules and practices lies with you. It can end with you, and a different kind of future-one rooted in love and grace-is possible.

Yes that’s what makes it so difficult because we really love some of these people. They don’t have a choice if they don’t shun us they can be disfellowshipped. No freedom of speech.

So how did you get your wife to wake up? Was she already leaning that way? My wife knows i don't believe everything they say and i tell her i don't accept anything they don't have a scripture to back up. She still thins i view them as being used by God even though i only believe this at a very basic level just like i believe anyone can be used by God to draw them to him. While her perception is that I think they are specifically chosen. She agrees with some of my reasoning but is still very indoctrinated and usually stops me any time i have something "negative" to say.

I was a jw for 32 years....served in the congregation....worked on the RBC....I was a regular pioneer for several years....I started questioning doctrine in 2015 with the generation teaching and change....that was the starting crack....then in 2017 when they came out in a watchtower saying the governing body wasn't inspired....I remember reading that and my jaw dropping because that's not how we were taught at the hall! But I thought thinking to myself...how can you be spirit directed and not be inspired 🤔......I grew my beard in 2018.....oh boy....I took some crap on that one!! I was counciled for starting divisions 😂 for wearing a beard!! They got upset because I got alot of compliments on my beard from the friends....I finally left in 2020....I got all my kids out! Unfortunately some of my siblings are shunning me....all my jw friends shun me....I wasn't even disfellowshipped! So glad to be out serving the real Christ! Not watchtowers version of Christ

Thanks greatly for this fine interview. I was an elder for almost 4 decades. The organisation's disdain for Higher education became so unbearable and disgusting for my family. Many of my friends that had children in colleges were penalized with disgraceful step downs as elders, ministerial servants, pioneers, etc. So many of them had since left.Yet these hypocritical clowns called GB spend our donations to sponsor their men to study law in various colleges in US. Their new lawyers are sent to defend the organisation's horrendous safeguarding of child sex Abusers from within. What a deplorably disgusting organisation it is!
My own experience with the JW hypocrisy over education took place many years ago, but it was one of the things that feuled my decision to leave. When I graduated high school, the woman who studied with me, an elder’s wife, sidled up to me one day and said very point blank “you’re not going to university, you do understand it’s not allowed?” This same couple sent their two sons to university and there wasn’t one thing ever said about it! That elder was never told to step down, he served for many years, well into old age.
Several years later I left the cult, filed for divorce from an abusive JW husband and enrolled in nursing school. Soon that hypocritical elder and his university educated ministerial servant son came to visit me and threaten to announce I was “unfit association” if I didn’t immediately go back to my husband. They made their announcement and I went on, free of the suffocating BS of the Watchtower religion, to glory in learning a profession and feel the relief of real education in the real world!!
Watchtower is beyond despicable and two faced to destroy the futures and well being of countless people by their education ban while paying for the education of lawyers, nurses and other healthcare providers and techies needed in their HQ!

I've recently after 20 years as an elder. I never agreed with the policy on university. I used to give the Public Talk on Education, but eventually dropped it as I just didn't agree with what I was teaching. Since leaving I see the GB's wickedness for what it is.

What an excellent interview!! Some of the points that Bleau made are just outstanding like when he talked about how the organization is synonymous with Jehovah.
I love how he and his wife haven't lost their faith but their on a journey of discovery and finding out who Jesus really is. I'm on the same path and it has it's ups and downs but mostly it's fun and enjoyable.
His point as well about feeling violated 😭 that's an accurate description. For the most part you feel like an idiot that something like this happened to you and it's also embarrassing to a degree. But when you've been born into this it isn't so simple. Recovering from such an experience takes time and a lot of guidance from God and the Holy Spirit. But I trust eventually I will get to where I'm supposed to be.

I was married for 30 years and when I woke up my wife wrote me a letter left it on the kitchen table. She moved out and one elder helped her out with the move. All I want ed was my freedom. After 6 weeks she moved back in. I am really mad about the way this went down.

I am a born in JW. A few months ago
I made the mistake of telling my wife my findings and explained my doubts to her regarding the organization. She immediately turned on me and demanded a divorce. She told me that if i wasn’t in this all the way then she didn’t want to stay with me.
We went to couples therapy for months with no hope to save our marriage. We had been together for 6 years. We met in the kingdom hall.
I told her i would continue to support her by attending the meetings and give her all the time she needed but she couldn’t see me the same anymore and said our marriage was over. I love my wife and couldn’t believe how quickly she cut me off like I was nothing.
This religion is so vile. Any love within it is 100% conditional. The second you’re no longer with the program, you’re expelled no matter who you are.

Sorry to hear this brother. It happened to me too and she was extremely abusive to me on top of it. That aside, her biggest hang up was me not agreeing with them, yet in her mind she was justified in her abuse to me. I can’t and will never figure them out and I pray you find your way and a woman who will love you unconditionally. It is very difficult and I really am sorry you have to go through this.

There are plenty of verses in the Bible about putting God first, even if it causes division amongst families. You must either be ignorant of those verses, deliberately turning a blind eye to them, or the Bible just goes completely over your head. That is ungodly. God forgives instantly. Not in 6 months, 1 year etc. God forgives even if we dont deserve it. Example when Peter denied Jesus 3 times, Jesus didnt shun him or had him removed. I would like to tell this wonderful young man that the Catholic Church and the JW’s are very similar. 1) The Catholics have one Pope and the JW’s have 9 popes. 2) The Catholics also believe that they are the only religion that has “the truth”. I grew up Catholic, steer clear of this one!

I think giving yourself grace and recognizing your emotions is so important firstly. Then deconstructing the witness beliefs and separating them from your personal beliefs. Perhaps you don’t know what to believe? Then I would sort out (in your head or physically noting them) what beliefs you definitely don’t believe, you’re unsure about, and what you do believe. Then I would start listening reading and researching the Bible itself via different translations (YouVersion Bible App is great for that) as well as Bible scholars such as Tim Mackey, NT Wright, etc and lastly supplementing with TH-cam commentaries or Christian apologetics such as light over dark ministries. I would also say approaching your research with a sense of curiosity and exploration rather than a rigid framework that is difficult to move. Lastly and seemingly unrelated I would encourage you to rebuild your support system outside of the organization. Even if you’ve been out for years some don’t rebuild and they stay isolated but I think connecting with others is vital to keeping your spirits up. Hopefully you can glean something helpful from this comment. Best of luck on your adventure through life and faith

I was just like you for 15 years. I carried my JW bible in my car & didn’t know how to escape! I still believed in God though. I finally got brave enough to visit a few different nondenominational churches. ( They are all a bit different & you will know when you find a good fit) After about the 5th one, I knew God had led me there. So I told the pastor who I was & needed someone to sit down with me & show me EVERY JW doctrine that was not biblical & why!! What an eye opener that was! For awhile I felt like I was in a different country & I didn’t speak their language, but eventually I made it to the other side! If you are still a believer, start searching for a good BIBLE BASED, CHRIST CENTERED church. And then, get involved, make friends, and ask for help if needed! I didn’t know who to trust, who I can believe, I had such worry and anxiety like I never experienced before and just the constant question of how do I know this is more true than the other? This person might believe this is true but I thought the same thing about the JW until now. The constant fear and doubt was exhausting.
But truly the only answer is Jesus. He is the way, he is the truth and the life. Open your heart to him in prayer, invite him in, and into your life. He will guide and help you 💖🙏🏻💖
God was so patient with me, and showed me time and time again who he is. And I still had doubts 😅 Only through opening my heart to Jesus and inviting him in, and praying and eventually reading the bible did that change.
Jesus saved me, my husband my mother and brother. We still have family in the organization but I pray for them everyday and believe he will move in their lives just as he did in ours.

I do agree with other comments about finding a non denominational church but it is also ok to take a break and deconstruct yourself and your beliefs from the JW teachings. Connect with local groups that participate in hobbies you share. The library is a great resource, pickleball is a very welcoming and accessible sport, FB has many groups you can join. Get involved in your community, volunteer at a soup kitchen or animal shelter or cleaning up the city. Anything that can rebuild your life and friendships and connections. Go outside of your comfort zone. And while I do encourage you to return to Christ, sometimes we need to fully separate from the JWs. When you do start listening to sermons or pastors or attending church, listen critically and listen to your gut. Does what they’re saying make sense? Does it align with your God given conscience and morals?

I studied with them for a year. There is a lot of good. There were a handful of things I couldn’t reconcile, like no college, no Christmas, birthdays etc. i just wanted to study the gospel. I finally stopped when it was forbidden to say the word “leader.” Historically, Restricting language has SO MANY implications and oddly that’s the thing that hit me hard.

Good question. I struggled with that as well in studying. While God in the OT seems overly wrathful, Jesus too talk about hell more than heaven. It’s easy to overlook how merciful he was over and over again. There’s a great book called “Is God a Moral Monster”. By Paul Copen, I can’t recommend it enough, especially dealing that issue and more.

Great interview. I left a couple years ago and am now an atheist. Nothing to do with being hyper critical, I just held the same level of requirements for this belief as I do for any other belief I have and I found the Bible doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. Glad it still holds up for you and you derive hope from it.

I watched with interest your video where Blu intervenes in the conversation.
When I began to study the Bible with the J.W., I asked questions without answer, only "you have to obey".
I'll mention some of them:
1. Why can't I wear a beard?
2. Why I have to go to the kingdom hall in a suit and tie?
3. Why will the 1914 generation be the last to see Armageddon?
4. Why has 1975 been proclaimed as the year that perhaps the end will come?
5. Why can't a transfusion be given if necessary?
6. Why if I no longer feel like a Jehovah's Witness am I excluded from any contact with everyone?
Many things have changed:
1. Now you can wear a beard!
2. Now you no longer have to go to the kingdom hall with a tie!
3. 1914 became like a ball on the foot, the latest generation was superimposed on other generations!
4. In preaching many people remember the year 1975! What nonsense!
5. There is no scripture in the Bible that talks about avoiding transfusions!
6. Now for the sake of financial losses as in the case of Norway, they have become more tolerant!
I profess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.
A big thing is Jesus said for all of us to keep the remembrance of the bread and wine, everyone, like the disciples did not just for the anointed and as we pass the wine and bread we are rejecting Jesus by not partaking. Great video 🙏🏻🙋🏻♀️💖🌷🇨🇦

Jehovahs witness elders pressure you ......according to their assumption of you etc,.. They wrongly assume that 'they' know your heart........they are not Jehovah!!! Only Jehovah knows your heart!!!! If in any doubt,....pray to Jehovah. Do not take notice of man! You must familiarise yourself with scripture ❤. Your loyalty is to Jehovah!....don't ever forget that❤😂.
After leaving, Armageddon was a huge hurdle for me! I thought about it every day.. ugh UNTIL I learned that Armageddon is only mentioned 1 time in Revelation & it’s not talking about our destruction, but rather the destruction of Jerusalem! I now go to a great nondenominational church & really understand what grace means! I’ve been shunned for 30 years but look at it now as a blessing.. it kept me from being pulled back in by them, gave me time to deprogram & learn about a world I knew very little about! God is good 🙏🏼🎚️❣️
I ended the Bible study because of the JW disdain of higher education. I have family in the South USA who endangered their lives during the 40s - 60s civil rights era to make sure that Black people got a decent education. I also had, at the time ,2 near genius children. They were going to university come hell or high water!

University education is not required for salvation. You have to use BIble principles if you really want your kids to take university education. the main question is if they will maintain their faith in GOD after? what is more important? their salvation or money or prominence?

Bleau - if you read this, you mentioned you had difficulty accepting the divinity of Jesus. If you have the time to reply, could you explain what that process was for you, and what maybe helped you understand/accept it / the Trinity?

Hi there! Excellent question! There were certainly a lot of barriers to understanding what the trinity was. As a JW I was taught very specific reasons as to why it was false and they made total sense for me. So things like when you read about Jesus praying to the father, it was easy for me to look at that and think “trinitarians believe Jesus is praying to himself, what nonsense.” But what witnesses are taught in this regard is incorrect and not what most Christians believe. What I was actually taught was a form of the trinity called modalism, but the organization never delineated the differing views in this regard. Once I started to re-examine all my beliefs, I had the thought occur to me that “if the organization has been so wrong on so many things, could it be possible they are wrong on this?” This was an especially potent question since all Christians have been in agreement and on the same page for 2000 years, so clearly the doctrine had to have some legs to stand on. That put me on the quest on actually trying to learn and understand why Christian’s believed this and what it actually was. It takes time but there are so many helpful resources in understanding this concept, but I also read many works from the early Church fathers and how they articulated this concept. And honestly the idea is really not too far away from the JW version. There are of course differences but the right framing definitely assists in grasping it. In a way it’s actually quite simple. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all distinct persons but they are the same in substance or essence. I would simply say, do the research on the topic and look at all the references to God (YHWH, Yahweh, Jehovah) in the Old Testament being fulfilled in Jesus.

I still have a few challenges in regards to it however I do have faith which has grown exponentially since I left because I have had to rely on Jesus and the Holy Spirit in my research and NOT mens doctrines. For this I am thankful. Its amazing once we are disconnected from the matrix how the Holy Spirit will guide us.

Great interview and good story. Bleau, I appreciate you sharing and your honesty. I am happy you were able to get out with your marriage intact and able to continue this journey with your wife. That is a rare thing for a JW that leaves. This was not the case for me. Granted, my marriage fell apart primarily due to this religion as I later realized. Other issues in my marriage are what helped me to wake up to what was going on and fueled my divorce. My ex was unfaithful and had a so-called emotional affair with my JW best friend at the time. I forgave her but she blamed me for it, for something she did as the perception was, I was not doing enough for Jehovah. Her anger with herself and the situation caused her to be physically abusive towards me and I had to end the marriage it for the children's sake.
I later tried working it out as I can forgive what she did, the crazy thing was she did not want to work through it because I told her I was leaving 'the Truth.' At the time I had not found Christ, and I did not know where the journey was going to take me. I told her she can continue as a JW and that we could go on this journey together. She said I scared her, yes it was scary me leaving, no accountability for the abuse though and all my fault. Not trying to be a downer here, but it is good to hear a success story because I know so many relationships that ended because of this vile religion. This faux religion that tells people to abandon their spouses because the exiting spouse can put them in 'spiritual danger.' The governing body make me sick. I too found Christ and a good church, and I really woke up to how much we were lied to. God bless you and your family.

Hello from Norway. This is very important. On behalf of a friend; her grownup daughter is in reality kept as hostage and blackmailing her mother for money. This is a very long story and we are being threathened when trying to have any contact with her or her child. We fear any kind of misuse is going on. Any money we have given her is going to the organisation. She is doing a lot of hateful attacks on certain fam members, you would not believe. Totally brainwashed. She is living in a house owned by jw elders. We need help to rescue her and the child. We try Police and cps. " Freedom of religion " , sorry, they dont see the severity. Thank you if any can help. We live in Norway.

We are! We haven’t gotten rebaptized yet but that’s mostly cause it’s winter time! We’re also taking our journey with Christ with intentionality and not swept away by emotions like the witnesses do. But true Christianity has been wonderful and refreshing. We hope for all to be united with Christ!

I seem to have a ministry type thing for speaking to JW's, trying to evangelise/talk to them and help them understand the real Yeshua. I find it so sad that so many when they leave/wake up walk away from G_D because He's been so interlinked with the organisation.

Y husband and I went to NY and went to a Catholic Cathedral for the first time for my husband, since I was a Catholic!

I recommned listening to Sam Shamoun and reading his numerous articles. He's been on a journey and goes back to the church fathers history. Ultimately he's part of the Catholic church.

On Mormon Stories Podcast story about TH-camr getting Excommunicated from Mormonism they bring it up. I don’t know why they softened their rules cosmetically. The Mormones also changed their dress standards, also now have a cartoon featuring Sophia and another boy, not Caleb, and the roles seem reversed but same type story. I bet there is a lot more. The comment sections of most exjw testimony videos I've seen lately have been filled with nasty, prideful comments from both exjws who no longer believe, and active jws who shouldn't even be here. Sad.

I agree with you in this. I can understand why people tend to have inflammatory responses to discussions like this. Exjws feel pain from learning about the organization and active JWs feel like their faith is being attacked. Maintaining civility and composure is so important when talking about something as delicate as a religious faith.

I faded out a few years ago. It was a shock to realise we are not in the last days and that prophecy ended in the first century, but I realise I have to trust the Bible's time statements and not man's.
Your opinion regarding the last days would be a minority opinion - even within Christendom (Certainly the Apostolic and Pentecostal denominations) - But the other Christendom Adherents here won't tell you so, because evidently you are ex-JW, and to them that's all that matters.

You are worthy of life and you can make it through. The freedom and weightlessness you’ll feel once you leave is immense almost overwhelming. It is the most difficult thing you’ll likely go through but it’s so so worth it. You’ll slowly get your confidence back and you’ll find who you are as a person. You can do this!
Connect with local groups that participate in hobbies you share. The library is a great resource, pickleball is a very welcoming and accessible sport, FB has many groups you can join. Get involved in your community, volunteer at a soup kitchen or animal shelter or cleaning up the city. Anything that can rebuild your life and friendships and connections. Go outside of your comfort zone. And while I do encourage you to return to Christ, sometimes we need time to fully separate from the JWs and that’s ok.

No contradictions in the bible? Examine the genealogy tables in Matthew and Luke, for instance. The literal inerrancy notions of the scriptures are from the 19C. Was there really a talking serpent in the garden or was Eve created from Adam's rib? Really? There's a danger of jumping out of one cult into another. There are degrees of cultishness, and The Watchtower is very high on that list. Better out than in, by far.
