simply awesome, i got a small 1 man shop plus a contractor afew days a week last 17 years , been in this game 32 odd years you make it look easy great mind set & skills thanks for your time making the videos another killer looking Q on the way
You sure are a craftsman mate with this panelling work. Wow It really looks top notch! Doing great. Can't wait for the next video. Thanks for sharing this.
Great as always .. most say gap a car front to back but cars with a plenum I reckon it’s probly the best place to start . The bonnet to plenum gap is so crucial . Doors are much easier to manipulate . Hope that makes sense . How’s the windscreen moulds to the aftermarket plenum ?
Good question. With the epoxy I’m using, it doesn’t like going over the phosphate coating left after neutralising the Deoxidine and in an area like inside the plenum it would be near impossible to remove it all. Given the amount of seams in the area, Deoxidine can be hard to neutralise if it gets between the two panels. Ideally blasting it with garnet would have been most textbook method, but I have had good results with the Wurth Rust Converter and that’s the way I chose to go for that particular repair.
Inside the cowl/plenum reminds me of the same area on an early Mustang, and they always seem to rust out there. Do you have the same problem with these Holdens?
I used to own a 1973 HQ Premier Sedan and l owned it for 24 + year's..... and l can say that the Cowling Panel or Plenum Chamber indeed is their biggest weak spot as l had to repair that area twice in the time l owned it, it was originally painted a Bronze Colour, but someone had painted a kind of eggplant Colour by the time l had purchased it.....which was an ugly colour so was in primer for a very long time. I had added the HQ Monaro fender Gilles and Monaro Rim's that I had spliced to take a wider white block lettered Bridgestone 245's
Love old cars, like this HQ! I’m sure it will look amazing once done. However,if the clickbait picture is correct then I gotta say it’s got the shittest looking rims.
Awesome watch, cheers.

To each their own, I would never gap a car front to back, always back to front.
Windscreen trims fit good on the aftermarket cowl panels.
Your a fucken gun mate ,those banana lines look pretty slick awaome!
Banana lines 😂
Been a while. That's a lot of panel mods. Tells a story. Cheers
Thanks for watching
What rust converter are you using? Any reason to not just epoxy after deoxidine?
Cheers nice work

Yes, very common.

I’ll pass on your opinion of the wheels on to the owner - I’m sure he will care a lot about what you think. 😂
Just don't get the bead-lock thing these days.Didn't need them back in the day, can't see why we need them now.
This car will need them unlike a lot that are just for show. Each to their own.
Lovely work mate 👍👌
Thanks Doc.
