I was held up by a rig like this on the North Circular just down from Finchley high street in London,a few years back, best traffic jam i was ever in..right behind it as was SLOWLY [!] negotiating a tight bend in rush hour traffic! It was amazing to watch the teamwork...and they never took a bollard or tree out! I loved this one taking the moss off the low wall....polished the coping stone nicely!! Thanks for posting a great vid.!
Love this film. I used to drive for Leicester Heavy Haulage in the late 1980's and often came into contact with the ALE crew on the same job. They are just amazing.
Whenever I see these multi wheeled vehicles, I’m always taken back to my childhood and watching The Thunderbirds television show with their trucks and carriers and such.

Hi great video I passed my HGV class 1 in stone west midlands with an instructor from Pwllheli. Alex Higgins. He could not understand why I want to do this in 1986. I work for the ambulance service in various duties from driver training to a paramedic on the police helicopter and to management for forty two years. But I loved driving big lorry’s with others and the freedom we had. I liked the team work and eating in different places. But I never made it my career. Only did a few trips as a second driver but really enjoyed it. Good video with good use of vehicle control by the police.
Wow, the things we take for granted. What a job, and well done fellas. Great viewing and nicely filmed. I tried to count the wheels several times, but probably best not to know. The mind boggles.
is it just me or does anyone else start out to watch one video and end up watching various ones and loosing all track of time, great video btw ye canny beat a big lads truck for holding yer attention :-)
Moving something this large and heavy over English village roads with all those twists and turns and roundabouts takes skill! They moved along surprisingly quickly.
What you notice is that roundabouts are always in the way. And the only way to get around this behemoth of a road train is on a bicycle. Although they are also in the way of of the normal flow of traffic.
Started watching the video with the roundabout in Surrey thinking what kinda sad act comes out to watch this and yet here i am an hour later still watching your videos. Good vids and cracking skills by the guys in the trucks
Seen ALE in action several times now taking bits to a local power station and electric sub station! Awesome to watch how they make it look so easy, even the unloading and getting in place 300 to 400 ton turbines 👍🏻
Brilliant and really interesting. Superb filming and how nice to see complete absence of pointless special effects that we are used to seeing these days on TV documentaries. Top marks all round.
Apparently (and unfortunately) the people making television these days forget the lesson during training in which they are repeatedly pressed on the idea that "less is more".
Found some photos at home of the Unipower with a Nicolas trailer in the factory and being loaded with a tank for the HET trials. Brought back some memories-thanks for the video.
Magnifique spectacle. Merci de nous permettre de suivre.

Stunning video and machinery with very highly experienced drivers. And our wife always wanted to know why us boys wanted to play with cars when we were kids.
Very impressive and informative. By comparison with the "145 tonne meets Surrey roundabout" video, the natural sounds of the "kit" working hard was a far better choice than the "random muzak" chosen for the other vid. Your hard work is appreciated.

This same haulage company used to transport these same power transformers for Hawker Siddley Power Transformers which was based in Walthamstow East London until the factory closed in 2003, a huge operation and lots of planning and a lot of street furniture such as traffic lights and lamp posts had to be removed outside the factory ever time a new transformer left the factory, it was an awesome sight to see , lots of pictures on the tippy tappy

I've worked with some of these guys, even driven an escorting van. To them it is just another day at the office, however there is months of planning before anything moves on the road
