This guy defies logic... how with a 4k reel and 30lbs line? Your skills are off the charts man... I lose fish on 100lbs less that size! I come back often to your video to be in shock and awe.
When catching king fish in Japan, 8000 or more are common.

I've got the exactly the same outfit and caught a similar size kingfish in the lagoon of Lord Howe Island. The reef was shallow as it is mostly on the fringe of the lagoon, but that outfit was awesome. The kingy tried rubbing me off and was lightning fast with changes of direction. I could feel the braid rubbing on rocks. It was a lengthy fight but I was really impressed with how good the outfit felt in the hand and handled the fish.

Nice catch! Lucky is the strong rod, I don’t know the mode number, but could be PE3. If 4000 cretate match the normally rod PE1-2, will more fun🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great Job.
30lb leader too. Wow. My spot x is snaggy, so I use 80lb with 30lb braid. The rest of light set up is a Daiwa TD Sol 3 6000 LT, Shimano Coltsniper and 30lb J braid. Hard to work sticks with a 10 foot rod though.

You can get certate 3000 Ark , is got bigger gear and it’s stronger then standard 3000 👍🏻

Zeee mannns where its at to this day every single time ive seen a king smashing bait fish off the rocks and ive bifft a soft bait pink 7inch Berkeley gulp or now use a 10 inch zee mann ive had 100 percent hookup rate lost a few but I use 80pound mono on a fin nor 9500 fits a wopping 140m haha so stuff all line and soft bait hooks are crap so use a heavy gage live bait hook and 100pound trace. Its lock and load when you get a hit great fun.

That was one hell of a decision to switch rigs like that in the heat of the moment! How did the Certate feel and what are the specs on that rod? That fish was a tank!
Also, what was the first rig you were using?
The Certate definitely felt up to the task! The rod is a Daiwa Generation Blaxk Slugger rated at 6-10kg. The other set is a Daiwa saltist LTD 6500 and a 4 piece demon blood rod 💪🏽
@@moocherhunters I've got the Certate 5000 Ark with the same rod. I actually find the Daiwa Fuego 6000 weighing at 330g is the perfect physical balance for the Slugger rod, but it's a much inferior reel to the Certate. Nice catch on that setup and good technicque. That king looked ike it was in high 80cms to low 90cms.
