- In today's video I'm doing an updated highlights tutorial! It's still something that makes my work recognizable, so after still getting requests I thought, why noy?

You couldn't convince me this wasn't made in a 3D software. Amazing work, Benny!
Just goes to show that even someone as talented as Benny still keeps improving.
It isn't talent, it's a result of hard work and practice.🤷♂
@armado9721 hard work requires talent tho
@@boristheorangenot rlly…
@@ObsidianArrowYT but how are you supposed to work hard if you dont how to do the work?
Knowing how to work means talent, so yeah
@@boristheorange No, talent isn't knowing how to work, that's called know-how. Talent is being naturally good at something.
Benny doing tutorials should be considered an EVENT… even though I have more than 10 years of experience in Photoshop I still learn a lot with you, thank you for that dude!!!
I'm so glad you updated this tutorial! I always love watching you adding highlights to your edits, but never fully understood the process, can't wait to give it a go myself!
I literally found the last tutorial on TH-cam for the first time last week and now you drop a new one, perfect timing lol (last one was really helpful)
oh my god it’s the clickbait man
I would love to see a tutorial in quite the opposite, how to flatten things out like removing harsh lights and shadows
I agree... like removing the original lights/shadows from subjects so you have more flexibility when painting your own.
I think you really can't do much. I know for example with colors = you have green grass with a little bit of highlights and you want to make it blue from dusty planet. You can make it gray and then colorize it again (hue/saturation) with blue, that way the highlights are a little bit less visible.
But for strong shadows and highlights only levels will work but it will create bad effect
I literally have been using the old method from ur first video, and now with the exposure over the hue saturation layer, my thumbnails i work on for clients are gonna get 1000% better. Thank you Bennt
So stoked you made this man! Already have learned a lot by just watching your regular stuff and paying attention to your layers but this was super helpful! I know you’re not keen on tutorials but I (and everyone else I’m sure) really appreciate them and would 100% love more of them!🤟🏼
Hey benny thank you so much for sharing your knowledge about adding highlights, i really appreciate that. ❤
Keep up the good work! It's crazy that you're actually willingly doing another tutorial tho. Nice one!
he's probably running out of ideas due to the whole ai thing lmfao
One of the best ways to observe light bounce is to shine a torch off things and notice how your entire surrounding actually affects your highlights. For photographers Grass can be a pain in the arse since you will get (like on a green screen) a very slight hue shift of green. A good way to add highlights also is to use the exposure in Camera RAW WITH the tint/white balance. So yes this IS "realistic" for a studio situation, but not realistic for a composite situation.
Hi Benny! Love your hard in put work. Gonna watch it now!
This video was really cool. I've been tryna develop my skills with photoshop, and this video was exactly what I wanted. Thank you for you constant tips.
I’ve just found your channel a few day. Love your tutorials. Very easy to follow & inspirative 👏
Thank you for sharing!! I'm very excited to opening Photoshop next time and editing whatever I have!!
THIS IS SOOO NICE. LOVE YOUR CONTENT. KEEP GOING MAN
Thanks so much for these tutorials! It's much more effective than watching your speed arts at .25 speed and trying to figure it out that way 😄
Thank you very much for this tutorial, Benny, it's a pleasure to learn from you.
That was really terrific and neccessary, Great technique to do, thanks benny❤
A week ago I was literally thinking “man I wish Benny would do another lighting tutorial” and here it is! Thanks for reading my mind Benny!
Maybe the one above heard your prayers. Have a great day.
Superb tutorial! I’ll def try re-creating it in Affinity Photo! Thanks Benny!
Hi benny! I been watching for a while now, almost 3 years? I love your videos, can't wait to finish this one too!
Thanks much, just discovered your channel and am excited putting your skills into action for my projects. Your awesome
Thank you Benny, for this tutorial. This one is so much better than your old one. You go into more detail and I think the image of Freddy you used to showcase the process is much better than the one you used in your last tutorial, as Freddy is very roundish, making it so there's more places for light to scatter, making it more clear to the viewer, when demonstrating where the light is supposed to go.
amazing and detailed tutorial. thanks for sharing benny!
If you attentively watched his videos you would already know these tricks, here and there he talked and showed all about these. I am very very very glad you enlightened us again with your tutorials, you are the one that I can easily understand. There were parts I couldn't catch up when I watched the videos, now I understand everything. Thanks a lot, Benny!
OOOOOOOOOOH HOW LONG I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS OMG!!!!

Benny does it so well, it’s Insane 😩🤲🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely amazing
Thanks ever so much for this tutorial. I've learned a lot
This is what I wanted for so long thanks ❤
Gteat tutorial and editing. And I do want to point out that "practice" is not enough. Understanding how light works and how objects react and receive light, one needs to learn those principles. And then, yes, practice and it wont be hard anymore. But first, learn! You, Benny, have a solid understanding and knowledge of those principles and I like how you present it. Thanks!
Wow!! Before I used inverse curve technique to brighten the highlights, but this technique makes a lot more sense to me! Thank you so much!!
This is dope. Earned a sub!
Finally a new Benny tutorial video!
This is amazing! I love it
Benny what would I do without you? I've learnt so much from your channel. I can't thank you enough, these videos are gems
May the force be with you Benny ❤
Benny is the goat of manipulation, it's impossible to not agree with this, good work Benny!

When Benny drops it's an occasion 🎉
I wasnt sure if this was the tutorial I wanted, then half way through I discovered it was the tutorial I needed. Thank you so much
I never comment, but from time to time Benny, you should make some of these tutorials, you do so much cool stuff, and I always want to learn how you do it:)
Thank you for another realistic highlights tutorial! It's a rare event to see you giving tutorials haha
Impressed how you achieve that in one mask - that really requires knowing your brushing and knowing the process! I'd be forever knocking into bits of soft mask and screwing it up 😂 I look forward to giving this a go, thanks Bennnyyyy! 🤜
thank you benny🙌❤❤❤
Want more such tutorials from you! Pleaseeeeee❤
I wish there was someone out there like Benny for Affinity Photo. I love how well Benny accomplishes beautiful artwork. I can't afford Photoshop so I have Affinity.

Amazing stuff! Could you make one for how to work with shadows as well, to complete the set? My shadows always look either flat or unrealistic
This looks amazing 👏 👏👏👏
