[ Experiment 8.09] Flocculation
Clay is added to pure water in two containers. Lime is added to one of them. In the container without lime, the clay particles cannot be distinguished. In the container with lime, sedimenting aggregates are formed. The next day, the aggregates containing lime have grown in size, and sedimentation is faster.
This phenomenon is called flocculation.
