Lovely Vlog Todd and Nenee. I remember being in Luang Prabang back in 2000. It still had a bit of a 'wild West' feel about it then. They have done a magnificent job of restoring and building new 'period appropriate' buildings. The whole place now looks beautiful and the City Council and Laos Government should be proud of their achievement.
So envious . stuck here in Australia, not able to travel. Visited Laos in 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed to experience. Luang Prabang was our first stop and was beautiful. Interesting time trying to travel by road from Phonseavan to Vang Veng after storm. Trees down across road and many mud slides. After many delays returned to Phonesavan and flew to Vientiane and then drove down to Don Khong. Love watching your videos and hope to visit again one day when all the orld is open and safe. Thank you and stay safe.
We were in LP in Nov 2018. It is heart breaking to see so many places shuttered. Hope to be back there in the near future. Thanks for this wonderful video...made me nostalgic.
Hey buddy,,,no doubt in my mind why Luang Prabang was named a world heritage site. It is one magnificent city! From old tradish architecture to the palm lined streets with the freshly white buildings that brings to mind a Brit influenced former colony like Bermuda or the Bahamas,,,somewhere in the Caribbean sea. The lovely tree lined streets where the little shops and restaurants are,,and lastly,,,the amazing temple or set of temples. Not to even mention the abundance of beautiful women! I could hang there for a day or a lifetime or two..the slow cruise around by bicycle was extra nice. Definitely fits the covid slowed pace of life. Thanks Todd,,,for this nice ,,relaxing little cruise. Ttyl,,,Marlon
This town is beautiful. Amazing scenery and so glad you mixed in the pre covid scenes. I have never been to Laos and was thinking about this when i was in Thailand many many years ago. Still on the radar though.
LP is on another level amazing......this video just didn't last long enough. So sad though to see it so very quiet. Your description of Covid was spot on!
Wow lovely place to live one thinks, nice perspective while on the cycles , loa by bike that would be a series’s, I dare you , are you up to the challenge ? Just the British sense of humour at play , lovely video.
Hey Gday Todd,owsitgarn?m8 Love the timber buildings, great to see this type of architecture.Being that Lao/Thai have many similarities in alot of things, seeing these vids of yours reminds me of being in Thailand recently pre rona. There are alot of things in Lao that I would love to see and your vids are showing some of them, and for that I thouroughly enjoy the footage you put out, good stuff, cheers Todd,Ron
Good to see the old place. Anvani Hotel - that's new - thanks for the tour. Wat Xieng Thong - dii laiy laiy! I practice English with my students. "Confluence" is a word I like to use when I'm by the Nam Khan and Mekong. I feel such words are really useful! Our conversations deteriorate to: khoi yak kin oop sin maa khoi sang jao khoi boh son jai jao 555 I hope to be back soon!

@@catoupachak No we haven't, sorry. Xayaboury is one of our least traveled provinces. The closest we got to Phiang was Pak Lay nearly 2 year ago. Covid has made it difficult to travel some provinces.. do plan to tour Xayaboury in the near future. Will keep Phiang in mind 👌
Great video mate , have really enjoyed watching your videos .One thing ive noticed is that Lao seems to be alot cleaner than Thailand .Am looking forward to experience Lao for myself in the future
Mate we stayed there for a week, it was amazing to come back home from a days travel to that pool,. We got a Ute taxi from out the front to the falls one morning before anyone else was there. Amazing town amazing people amazing country♥️

Imagine, the French once has this place which they got for free. Their expats lived like royalty with slave labor servants. In ten years time, this place will look very different due to the new railway.
The Hotel is beautiful😍😍 I'm glad you are showcasing this hotel. The owners will appreciate it. At some point in time, the tourists will be back including us. The city of Luangprabang has a lot to offer. So beautiful.😍😍😍. Great job Todd. Sending you lots of love💖💖 Jim and Harriet. Richmond, Va.
too bad laos is mostly closed to outside visitors. per laotian times road traffic deaths in 2021 were 831 and total covid deaths are 421. so much economic and psychological damage for what gain.
Lovely place. Can't wait to go there with the girl when the dust settles. 6:35 yes mate "Covid you bastard" But I'd substitute the word "Covid" for "China".
Love that town we planned to stay 3 days, but stayed for over a week. Amazing place to relax and wander around.

The Avani took over a very old n ramshackle Phu Vao Hotel around 2010. That was the best at the time at $40.

Wow ! Luang Prabang is so beautiful. It would be a nice place to retire to. Are there apartments or small houses for rent?
May be next year 😥(fuc***g virus). Ps: I wish you and Nenee a happy new year 2022.

I feel sad for the shop keepers. They have a lot of prepared food but very few takers.
There must be a substantial loss on the perishable items.
Why are there Soviet Union symbol on those house? The hammer and the sickle…
Hammer and sickle is the symbol of communism. Laos is a communist country.
