  • Getaway Gone Wrong (Guns Found in Trunk). Another car fishing job but with a big twist this time. This was the result of an intense police chase on Angeles Forest Highway, that ended with a SMOKED Infiniti G35! As always, we got the job to recover the car, so I sent Alex in Big Flipper, our 75ton rotator. Alex has Flipper decked out with tons of repelling equipment since he does these so much and he found out the driver wasn't just packing HEAT under the hood (ba dum tiss).
The car fishing part was pretty standard as most of my other ones, but the ending was MUCH different. After cutting the trunk latch open, a ton of ammo, BB gun and an AR15 was found along with a police beacon. Apparently this guy (or guys) used all this to pull people over and rob them. I never wish ill upon anyone, but it's almost poetic in a karma sort of way how this guy ended up crashing over the same hill he was stopping people in.

Alex is aways impressive with his athleticism. Enjoyed the video. The working relationship between Alex and Vincente (as well as with the police) is refreshing. Compared with your content, there is no comparison with other recovery channels.

Alex, two suggestions for these fishing trips. 1) get a climbing rope bag, and lay your rappel rope into it in a figure-8 pattern. Clip that to the back of your harness and the rope will pay out as you go down, and you won't have to fight with the loose end. 2) use some slings & carabiners to clip the winch line to the front of your harness. That way as you descend it will get pulled along and leave your hands free to steady yourself on the rope, and you're using your legs instead of your arms to pull the line.

@@AlexanderHernandez088Also, going hands free on the tube, holding the loaded rope or feeding in the rope from above will completely negate the function of the device, which works on friction from below. There is a self locking device in your kit that is suited to the task, the Petzl I'd. Getting some training is the best way, it develops your skills, not your gear closet.

Hi Alex, I really enjoyed watching this video except the rappelling sequences. Reason being that a tube style belaying device offers almost no stopping power if the brake-rope enters the device from above. It always needs to enter the tube from below (not possible if u grab both ropes with one Hand). I recomend you to consider buying a different belaying device (maybe even industrial standard). Unfortunately im not into the climbing business anymore so I can´t recommend a suitable device to you. I hope my explanation was understandable. I love you guys, and I love what you do! I have been enjoying your videos for years. I do have to say, using a saw in this situation made me very very scared. Even if a trunk is empty, it's usually not worth the risk of setting the carpet on fire. Now with guns (and thus explosives, aka bullets) you should never give it a chance!
Ideally you would use hydraulic scissors, but if it's too expensive a crowbar, heavy duty wire cutters and a lot of effort does the trick.
I hate to be that guy but I feel like this should be a learning moment since it could have ended a lot lot worse.
    Thanks again :)

True professionalism, obviously Pepe's has the respect of Law Enforcement. Who's been there the longest besides Josh, between Alex & Dave! "Props to Vicente" also, I'm sure he's been their a while too ..

As soon as the saw came out i was thinking, "Spilt petrol plus sparks in the bushes", next thing there is smoke in the trunk. Ended well though.
Good cardio workout for you Alex. Wonder if any firearms got thrown out the sunroof and windows as it cartwheeled down the hill? 👍
