    Watching this video i suddenly realized i bought this Prado from DIYIT13 one year ago. It was nice to see the jobs were done correctly. Pete.

      @@DIYIT13 It has been solid as a rock, other than needing to change a thrust bearing, things do fail even with good maintenance.
      Thanks for all the good work you done within your care.

      @@pete_adelaide3918 Good to hear, did you have to replace the head?

      @@DIYIT13 For the time of owning the Prado i have never had a issue with it heating up, other than pushing it very hard in soft sand on the beach in 40C+ temps to which would heat anything up. (full pedal in second gear)
      To answer the question, No i haven't changed the head and still looking for a reason i need to. I do respect your honesty at point of sale about a possible head problem.

    If you’re doing this, do the coolant flush with the old pump, not the new one!!!!

    Excellent and a Great video. As you said make sure you have the timing marks in the correct order. Otherwise it could cost you an engine replacement if it decides to throw a rod???

    Possible to do just the water pump replacment without taking out the radiator do you think?

    • @DIYIT13
      @DIYIT13  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heya, yeah it possible, I would put some cardboard on the radiator accidentally heated and damaged the fins.
      I have always just taken it out so I can give it a good clean .
      Thanks watching

    So timing belt replacement on these is every 150,000 kms not 100,000 like with other cars etc

      I would be doing it at every 100ks not every 150ks depending on how hard u drive 150 will prob be too late.

      150k km for genuine toyota parts, anything else, go with 100k

    Would you recommend a cheaper option on the parts , does it have to be Toyota genuine parts?
    Would you recommend other names and brands ?
