I got so focused on chatterbait fishing the last few years that I kinda forgot how amazing a swim jig is for generating bites. Last few weeks I have thrown nothing but swim jigs and have had SO much success. Of course using Matt’s one-two punch: Missile Baits mini 5/16 plus 3.5” Swammer and DT compact finesse 3/8 with 3.5” Largo Shad. Killer killer baits. My rods: G. Loomis IMX Pro 783 for the 3/8 jigs and a Dobyns Kaden 713 for 5/16 jigs. Kaden a tad faster but has similar soft tip as GL and both great for pinpoint casting. But that 6’ 6” GL is SO sweet for bank fishing under trees and other tight spaces. Great vid!!!
A sneaky jig for this compact has been the core tackle 2/0 1/4oz swim jig. With a 3.3 Keitech it’s so much fun. It almost floats to when paused. I’ve become a fan of the single or three wire weed guards. Picasso little spotty and hog snatcher jigs are have a set place in my jig box. They surprisingly come through cover really well. If you want to try something different take a look at the core tackle swim jig and picasso’s little spotty and hog snatcher for compact jigs
Great video as always. You left out one of the best finesse jigs out there. The Molix Nano Jig. Great section of colors and sizes. Pairs well with all the trailers that you guys covered.
You will not find a better finesse jig than the Beast Coast Open Water Sniper jig. Great hook. Great colors. Great Hook Keeper. Just flat out catches them. It's my go to in my jig box.

@831BASSTACTICZ I was out on New Malones yesterday and I caught 2.5 spot on a 3/4 football jig. I was only in about 20ft. Of water, but I'm able to get on bottom a little sooner. I also have a 1/2 jig tied on my Dobyns Extreme 745, usually I alternate depending on depth.
So glad I procrastinated buying a brailist and got it on sale. Got mine Thursday and I never realized how beautiful of a rod it is. If it fishes as good as it looks I’ll be happy😂
Hey guys: Love the buyers guide vids always look forward to them. As far as jigs go we’ve all heard about the benefits of tungsten over lead ones. That said are there any situations you prefer lead (other than being less expensive) over tungsten?

happy holidays to me, and BOOM there goes my wallet. Rabbit Hole here I come! thanks for the buyers guides guys. I love these videos. get ready tackle warehouse!
Can you recommend a swimbait to pair with the MB Uoze bladed jig? I've done well with the pairings you recommended for the Dirty Jigs but cannot get it right for the Uoze.
I buy tackle from watching these videos sometimes and once I put everything in my boat I forget which hooks go with which baits etc. What's a good way to remember what goes with what because essentially there's a couple hundred different things stored in the boat. Hard to remember what goes with what when there's a lot of specifics.
If you really can't remember, I would store them together. Maybe staple the hook pack to the bait pack? Or just create a little cheat sheet of what your pairings are.
Im new to Saskatchewan and curious if bass jigs are good for Walleye and pike? People here use paddle tails on regular lead jigs and we dont have bass. Anyone know?
Guys… if you’re gonna recommend a $150 bfs reel, it’s gotta be the Ark Gravity bfs. Nearly 2 ounces lighter than the Abu and can still handle the jigs in your video. I’ve been using it all season and so easy to set up. 8 lb thin diameter braid and you’re all set. I’m buying a 2nd one when they go on sale to go with that Cashion rod you recommended. (Rest of my bfs rods are all CDM, another way to save $$-Handing Magic)
We own that Ark Gravity and our experience doesn't match yours. Until we experience something besides what we've seen so far, we just can't agree. I don't doubt you, I just haven't seen it myself.
I’d say keep fishing with it. As a northern angler. Warmer moving water in the spring (like a creek drainage), structure in the summer like rock piles or brush piles are great for bottom dragging. And weed lines for swim jigs is where I got my confidence in a jig bite. I don’t throw it as often as I should because I prefer moving baits. But when that bite slows down. I’m chuckin a jig.
I was the exact same... until I met someone with an amazing understanding of jig design. They blew my mind in 5 minutes, and ever since then, I've preferred a non-tied jig on a properly designed head. There's a huge difference!
Here's the cliff notes... Tied skirts are a set size. They never get tighter. As you lose strands of material through wear and tear, the wrapping becomes looser on the remaining strands. If you keep that jig long enough to actually wear it out, the wire will no longer hold the strands tightly, and they'll pull out. The big issue with rubber collared skirts that always bothered me was the rubber dries, weakens, and fails over time... leaving you with an unskirted jighead. This only happens because the brands making them don't know, or don't care, to size their lead collars. If you size the collar down so that the lead, plus the skirting, puts minimal stress on the rubber... it will take decades for that rubber to weaken. During those decades, if you're losing strands during use, the band will continue to cinch and keep the remaining strands secure. I have 20+ year old Dirty Jigs that still have really good bands on them. It's all in the actual head design. I hope that helps!

No question... the new Shimano Expride 7'4" Heavy Fast 👍🏼
My jig box is 80% dirty jigs. The skinny dipper is a good trailer for the dirty jig finesse swim jig.
Yall are sleeping on black angel lures jigs. Handtied and lots of color options. Their “snitch” shakey heads are awesome too!
Can you recommend a swimbait to pair with the MB Uoze bladed jig? I've done well with the pairings you recommended for the Dirty Jigs but cannot get it right for the Uoze.
I learned a lot from both of you but it would of been great to get a close up on the items and on the jig itself.
What gear ratio are you using for the Curado 150 MGL
braillist sold out on the flash sale...299.99. Waited for that sale too, gone in like 15 mins
Matt, Tim, We need dirty jigs to come out with a MINI PITCHIN JIG!! Then, I would be set for life!! a little 2/0 pitching jig in those colors.
Would the P5 BMG be a nicer Braillist?
BMG has a lot more power. Steez bottom contact is much more similar.
What about living rubber skirted jigs for cooler water?
