Hey man i just wanted to say. I love what you’re doing, helping the customers make informed decisions on what they are purchasing. I find it extremely helpful your project vs reflector comparison since every led has a different beam pattern. I also like how you make a direct comparison to the stock bulbs, so it is easier to know what to expect from the lights. I have been buying hikari for about 5 years and only had one bulb flickering and it was the cheapest set, they really do make good quality products.
I have an update for for you. I installed the Sealight X4 9005 bulbs in my Santa Fe which has a parabolic low beam lens and a reflective high beam lens. The Sealight X4 because of this channel tested the hot spot is far below the top light cut off and puts the light low on the ground. I switched them to the high beam reflective lens and they projected the light very good forward. I recommend these lights only in a reflective light housing for high beam not low beam. I purchased and installed the Hikari 2023 Future Titanova 9005 bulbs in the parabolic low beam lens and they work very good. The hot spot is just below the top light cut off line and illuminate the road perfectly. This channel is very helpful in purchasing the correct LED bulbs for your vehicle. One thing I found different. The adjustment ring for positioning the correct position does not have a set screw to lock. Installing you rotate the ring fully counter clockwise and if you need the light in a different position you rotate the light counter clockwise while still in the socket to the correct position you want. The position of the bulb is held in place by the friction on the ring and bulb. Nice craftsmanship by Hikari. Thanks. Steven B.
I've been using Hikari LEDs since 2019 and I just stumbled upon your channel. Thanks for all the reviews you do and the confidence you provide me in buying the best LEDs. Oh, and thanks for the speadsheet which makes everything easy to track.
@CarLightReviews I'm looking at getting some of these. I am confused as it seems they are no longer labeled as titanova but simply "LED FOG LIGHTS" on the box. It does say titanova 65w LED in the product description though. I have a 2011 crown vic police interceptor. So it says the right one for me is 9007/HB5 and the Amazon fit check says it will fit my car. Is there any difference between what you tested here and the new one with the different labeling? Also I'm not entirely sure what all the different 9 thousand numbers and hb's signify asides from what cars it's compatible with. Are the bulbs the same across all the different 9000 numbers and hb indicators for different cars?
Thanks for the review of this Hikari Titanova. I have tried the AIO Hikari before and went back to the Au-Kee 18,000lm 110W with external driver. I ordered the Titanova after watching the reviews and hope these will be brighter than the Au-Kee 18,000lm since I could not find a better/brighter/even ones after trying ten different LED bulbs for the past 5 years.
Great video! I've had the Fahren Termitor (22,000 Lumens per pair RATED) and they are super bright. JUST tried the Hikari Titanova and they were just about identical! ALSO tested the GTR 2.0 and they were NOT AS BRIGHT as the Fahren Termitor's. I immediately returned them. Are you familiar with the SNGL Lighting H11 claiming 150 Watts per set AND 34,000 Lumens? I'd love to see that up against the Fahern Termitor 22,000 and/or GTR 2.0 ... THANKS!
Thank you for this review! I've replaced my Aukee "High Power" 18000LM LEDs with the Hikari Future Titanovas and couldn't be happier. They look great and the output is amazing in projectors headlights.
Found these on a liquidation store for 10 dollars and you get 20% if you pay cash so paid like 8 dollars for these, surprised to see how much they are right now (129 dollars) and how powerful they are thanks for the review!
Thanks for the effort put into the videos. Good job. I believe they are the best bulbs for projectors. However, looking at other reviews they are not the best for reflectors. DDM Tuning Saber ProX 55W Accu/V2 has as much as 3940 lumens in the reflector. Not to mention the latest 65W version of DDM Tuning which has just been launched. Unfortunately, there are no reviews yet for that model from DDM Tuning which is declared at 14,000 lumens. I believe they are even better in the reflectors.
3-9 oclock position is not always the case in a reflector housing. Most LEDs are 3-9 o'clock by default. The better designed LEDs have adjustable collars or a twin position fitting depending on the type. Most reflectors work much better with 12-6 o'clock position. The reflectors in my Ford Transit Courier are horrendous in the 3-6 postion. The Novsights i use are great in the 12-6 position. The other 2 LEDS i tried form Auxito and some other crap brand are useless in both positions. Also you should open your garage to see how the beam performs actually on the road. What you see on the garage door will translate totally different when exposed on a flat surface. I find that most LEDs can fire onto a garage door fine but cannot put ANY light on the road when used in a reflector housing.
*This is a very amazing review! **_I remember my father getting the Megatron Hikari lights just before they were apparently banned in California for being too bright?? Although its a shame people don't know they are supposed to reaim headlights to check them after getting brighter bulbs installed. I do want to get these for my 1997 Honda Civic Hatchback!_*
I don't think they were necessarily banned for being too bright, as I tested them in my other channel using slightly different test methods before I started this one and they were just OK. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/zlyMKnQ8nY8/w-d-xo.html In general, replacing factory halogen bulbs with LEDs for headlights in the US is not currently legal for on-road use. But then again, California can be weird about things. 🤣 And yes, it is very important to aim your headlights at least once a year and every time the bulbs are replaced. Glad you agree!
I purchased these lights based on your thorough reviews. They did not disappoint in my 2014 RDX, but l just installed the Lasfit LS Plus 4th gen because I like the slightly warmer temp (6000K Lasfit vs 6500 Titanova). Anyway, it would be greatly appreciated if you can review the 4th get LS Plus bulbs. Keep up the great work!
See why the Hikari 2023 Future Titanova is the best overall premium light I have tested so far and what makes it amazing in almost every way. ★ Hikari on Amazon: geni.us/hikari ★ Hikari deals on eBay: geni.us/hikariebay ★ Acuma (3 chips per side, 55w version) on Amazon geni.us/acuma ★ Acuma deals on eBay: geni.us/acumaebay
Yes, I have them. GREAT Brightness for the eyes!!! The street paint REALLY LIGHTS UP, BETTER THAN A SUNNY DAY, EASY ON EYES, MUCH BETTER THAN OTHERS AT THE STOP LIGHT, OR PASSING!!
Wow that seems to be the best for me as Low beams. Low profile fan & driver design + better heat control (since my headlights are sealed with a plastic cover) and most of all better light output after 27min is brilliant. I also wonder if there is a way to test Toyota PWM functionality when testing LED bulbs. When I try few options my self and Xenon Depot LED Pro had perfect DRL mode without flickering vs many high output bulbs was flickering in DRL mode. But Xenon Depot LED Pro could not match the high beam light out put of high power LEDs with fan cooling. A DRL mode testing might be a good test item if there is a PWM device to produce that produce 12v pulse matches car DRLs.
I got this led's for my 2017 Kenworth T-680 but my sister's Subaru Legacy had some embarrassing halogen lights, so I ended up installing them in her vehicle. Let me tell you, We were very surprised they are very bright without blinding on coming traffic. I have tested Lasfit, Auxito and Hikari, so far Hikari isthe king.
Great video, lots info that are very useful. Thank you for sharing, I am a big fan of LED lights and this helps me. More power to you and your channel.
@@CarLightReviews I whished we can have 3D charts for the intensity of lights. Not only the peak intensity but how broad it is at certain intensity. Sergiu Gabor did it by gridding the matrix on the wall and each matrix has the intensity of light hitting it. This way, we know exactly the brightness profile of the bulb.
Went from Osram Cool Blue to Hikari Titanova this year. The difference is OUTRAGEOUS, it’s like night to day. I simply can’t understand why Osram charges so much right now.
How can LED's be illegal in the US when so many new cars and motorcycles not come standard with them? Is this one of those rules that's not typically enforced? Seems a bit hypocritical that my Kawasaki Z900 came with LED headlights, but I can't but an LED bulb in my Can-Am Spyder.
It is not that LED lights are illegal. It is that: 1) replacing halogen bulbs with LEDs (or HIDs) in 2) headlights is 3) not legal for on-road use That's why they are marketed as "forward lighting" or "fog lights" and not "headlights". OEM halogen headlight housings are designed to use a specific bulb with the filament in a specific position with a specific level of light output and have to meet mandated safety standards. Changing those elements also changes the light output level and pattern from what the housing was designed for. This can introduce hazardous situations, especially when people buy light based solely on advertised brightness levels or don't aim their headlights carefully.
Another great video! I'm picking up a "new to me" '06 Lincoln TC and know I cannot live with the OEM halogens. I am considering a complete HID replacement setup, but if I don't go that route and keep the stock reflector headlight assembly, I'm considering these or the GTR Ultra 2. Price is certainly better for the Titanova over the GTRs and performance seems close (a bit brighter but run a bit hotter and the beam pattern not as clean). My biggest concern, however, is longevity/quality vs. GTRs. Thoughts on what might be the better choice?
Always appreciate it! I just ended up swapping out my DDM SaberProX 55W V2's for the SaberProX 65W. My 55W V2's burned out prematurely, after just one year. I'm looking into how to allow better cooling without compromising my headlight housings.
Did you claimed warranty on them…it happened with me too.. after all the hassle i did for importing them to india..ddm v2 died on me in one headlight after a year.. got burnt i guess due to fan dying or something else.
@@RahulSaini I did. I had them warranty them out and asked to upgrade to the SaberProX 65W. I paid a fee to upgrade, but hopefully it was worth it and they will last longer.
I wouldn't be surprised that the two lights are identical to each other. I've had backup cameras from two different companies Boscam and Auto-vox, but both are exactly the same in every way, shape, form, and function. The only difference I found is Auto-vox has much better customer service and always responds to my emails and even occasionally mails me to let me know about new items or to check up on me if there was a problem. Very good cameras, but the customer service for Auto-vox wins me over.
I bought a set of these in number 9005 based on this video in your recommendation . I'm using them as high beams in a 2001 Corolla. For the low beams I run Morimoto 2 stroke 3.0 because of the beam pattern and control. Comparing low beams to high beams is like apples to oranges but the super ultra mega titanova Is far brighter! These things are the real deal Eyes of megatron! Do they last a long time? I don't know , But they are brighter than a supernova stuck in a point singularity. On my ultra dark back country road going home from work I actually saw moth's burst into flames in my headlight beam. But seriously, these things are ridiculously bright I would use caution in using them as a low beam.
If you want to save a few dollars definitely go with the Acuma. Everything about them is 100% identical to the Hikari. Even the manual that comes with it is 100% identical word for word as the hikari lights for what it’s worth. I’ll guarantee they’re made in the same factory just obviously with a different name as the design on the box is also identical minus the name.
Installed Hikari's more economy bulbs almost 6 years ago now. Still working fine. Maybe not brightest in the market but still outperformed any premium halogen. Gifted a bunch to family soon after and all still operating fine. My model actually was issued a recall. But honestly I've been satisfied with them so just ignored it.
Thanks, glad to hear it. Do you see any differences between the Acuma and the Titanova? Curious if the fan guard on the back different between the two?
@@CarLightReviews I got ACUMA recommended by a friend from youtube here, that test lightbulbs.....he also said that it seems that Titanova is Acuma rebranded...... No matter what, they make quite a good light...
@@ryanchristensen1799 No, not a single flicker....they also come with some can adapter against flickering but on my car they work without the adapter and no flickering... I got them on all beams and foglights on a Megane 4
How are you? I love your channel, thanks for the great reviews. Can you please help me out? Im Not very experienced with LED's. I have a 2004 VW Passat. From my understanding I have less room for installation cause I have a VW. I just bought these Titanova's based on your review. Am I able to install these? If so im curious where the driver would go. Can I just get a longer Dust cap cover and keep the driver in there touching the light? And if so it seems like the weight of the driver would maybe cause the dust cover to slip off. I'd like to hear your thoughts? I wanted to include pictures of my car but I dont see an option for attachments. I have about 3" of room for the LED's.
I grabbed the Sealight x4 h11 set the 9005 set and the 9006 set for my 2007 4runner Because of your Spreadsheet I got the hll for 69 the 9005 for 69 and the 9006 for 49 bucks
At 194° would they burn out the projectors overtime? I had that issue with GTR HIDs in factory projectors, had to replace the entire headlight assemblies. going to install GTR ultra 2.0 LED but I may give these a try after seeing your video.
Put these in a 2000 Mazda Protege with reflectors..to replace some older Hakari LEDs with horrible light scatter. Now, when aimed on a garage door at like 20 feet, I have two huge "U" shaped patterns of light. I'm beginning to wonder if some reflector housings just are not a good fit for modern LED bulbs like these? These are H4/9003, non adjustable bulbs, and are installed at the 3/9 positions.
You can give it a try if they make it in the same size, but without knowing your current HID output, I am unsure if it is an upgrade. Wish I could give you a better answer!
Looking for H7 LED lamps I came across this impressive video. I would like to install these lamps in a BMW motorcycle with a canbus system. Is it 100% sure that there is no error message on the dashboard? Does that also apply to the Acuma version? Greetings from the Netherlands.
Would you be worried about potentially blinding oncoming traffic with lights this bright? Or do you think that the accurate light pattern in projector housing would diminish that issue? I've been thinking about these lights but want to make sure they are safe in that regard.
Never an issue as long as the light beam is adjusted properly. That's the main issue why so many people complain about LED blinding folks. Adjusting is a potential must and usually only takes a few minutes. If you have a pretty common vehicle, I imagine there is a few videos on how to adjust your specific headlights.
Thanks for your nice presentation My question is can I use these 65 watt led headlights instead of the original 60 watt halogen bulbs of my kia telluride car ?
Question. How do you set up the led in a projector housing where the bulb is inserted from the side (not the back) I have a 2is lexus with halogens from the factory. Thank you for all the effort you put on the reviews.
You might want to see this video I made on my other channel before I made _this_ channel, with slightly different testing methods: th-cam.com/video/0N9419LxeIU/w-d-xo.html The F-150 reflector output is VERY good. Don't ask why I didn't lux test the reflector in that video, I have no idea....but I do plan to retest it on this channel with my current testing methods in the future. But I am confident that light will be great for your mom's F-150. Check it out.
@CarLightReviews can you make a video comparing these LED bulbs to the DDM Tuning SaberLED ProX 55W Accu/V2 LED Headlight Kit? Those are supposed to be the top rated LED kit for projector headlights according to Bulb Facts site. I’m currently running the DDM Tuning kit in my 2021 Civic Sport hatchback for my low beams
Hey Jason so I installed 2 of these with 2 decoders. But after driving in a 2019 dodge ram for 15 min the driver side went out I then had to turn off the light and then it would come back on a few minutes later it went off again. I turned the lights off and on again, and I came back on about five minutes later the passenger side went out same process both of these bulbs have decoder direct from.hikari in your professional opinion, what do you think is happening and why these lights are turning off even with the extra decoder thank you for all your help. Love your channel.
Dodge vehicles are SUPER finicky when it comes to LED headlight upgrades. I wish I could help you troubleshoot this but I have to admit, I will probably strike out or send you down the wrong path. In cases like this, I always suggest that you consult your favorite social media group or message board specific to your vehicle. Wish I could help more!
Imma buy these ones to my 2012 series 1. I already changed my ldrs and position lamps to LED and but low beams still hallogen. These ones will look amazing. Just hope they are can bus and have no error message on the computer board but I doubt it. Might buy the thunder series ones later to my fog and high beams lamp.
I like how you gave an honest and good review of these bulbs, but I think you missed a HUGE part of a great review on products like these.. Which would be an actual real world use of them so that we can physically see exactly how bright they will be in the housing versus just seeing the numbers. But overall I liked your review and gave me another solid idea of a set of bulbs that I could check out
I get that suggestion a lot, and it is a fair one but there are a few things to consider... The thing about night view footage of testing lights is that it won't likely be accurate for the comparison between my experience and yours. My test environment, however basic, is much more consistent than the expectation of comparing MY tarmac, gravel, or asphalt conditions to YOUR tarmac, gravel, asphalt conditions. They wont likely be the same, and that's not even considering ambient light like street lights, moonlight, starlight, fog or moisture in the air which can change everything. A video that shows lighting road tests at night using a camera (which cannot easily compare to the human eye or even the basic lux sensor that I use) as '"real world" is quite misleading. It is unfairly assuming that you have the same exact camera and environment conditions that they have, every time you drive. Under certain conditions and camera settings, I can make a keychain flashlight appear as bright as the sun. That is why I made this channel and why I am very specific about the using the exact same conditions for my tests...every test, every time, using the exact same equipment settings and environment. That way, you can see actual "real world" data on how each light compares to each other, and compared to halogen. Actual DATA tells the story. Someone's highly variable camera output can't. If you are buying on brand name or someones "road tests", you don't have the full story. Again, actual DATA tells the truth...and that's what I bring you! 😄
@@CarLightReviews I FULLY understand what you're saying and I do agree with you on most of your points here.. So please don't misunderstand me here, I am in no way arguing your points by any means as I do agree with you. Because I do know that there are so many variables that can throw off "real world" tests such as camera settings, refresh rates, and so on and so on. But for myself personally I have wasted ALOT of money on headlights that had NUMBERS that looked good an all that. But when I purchased it and put it on my motorcycle it didn't perform the way the numbers said that it would you know.. So because of that you can have numbers saying that it is let's say for sake of arguement that it has 50,000 lux and 12,000 lumens.. But when it is installed, it can BARELY light up the road 15 feet ahead of you and now you're left with a paperweight.. So that is why I like to see actual real world tests of the products as well even if as JUST as baseline to see what the potential COULD be.. Because if the product doesn't perform in one setting and you see it do the same in another video you know it isnt exactly what the numbers say it is you know.. So for me that is why I like to see performance over just the numbers
@@brandonstone6962 No problem, and I understand. My question is, when you bought LED lights that didn't live up to the expectations of the numbers...what numbers were you looking at?
Seems based off of your spreadsheet. Not only does Titanova have best heat management, but also it has the best After 27min retainment Would you say so far this year, the Titanova is the best out of them all for brightness retention?
I just got auxito new DD-Y19 24,000LM wonder how they stack up against their competitors I'm using them for high beam they are pretty bright against my Fahren 14,000LM for low beam
I bought a set of these from Amazon based on your year end review. H11 but they would just fash and go off. Now I was replacing another brand of Led lights I was currently using. Sent them back. Gonna try the New Termintor Farhar
You may need a canbus decoder. I always suggest that you consult your favorite social media group or message board specific to your vehicle for situations like this.
When I buy these lights should I put the external driver inside the light housing with the dust cover on, or should I stick the driver box on to metal or plastic somewhere in the chassis of my Dodge Challenger ? What kind of tape should i use if the driver install on the chassis.
You want to ensure that you do not compromise the seal of the dust cover. So typically, you would find a spot inside the headlight assembly under the dust cap.
I love your videos about LED car lights. I watched your reviews of the Novsight N60, the Diamond Vision F9 and the Hikari Titanova 2023. Despite the numerical difference in the LUX numbers when I paused all 3 videos on the projector test they all seemed about the same brightness but I noticed that both the F9 and the N60 have more of a dead spot on the 2d set of panels of your garage door than the Titanova. The Titanova illuminates the lower part of the 2d set of panels and the upper part of the 3rd set of panels betterthan either the N60 or the F9. On the road where would the beam be that the Titanova seems to illuminate better? Trying to decide which of the 3 to buy. I know DV says the 79.2 watts it draws won't affect the wiring of the car but I am still a bit leery about that when my OEM halogen H11 are rated at 55w by Lexus (RX350, 2015 model) and the Titanova only draws 59w. What are your thoughts?
That's me right now I have a 2004 Ford crown Vic police interceptor and I want the brightest LEDs I can get those you named seemed to catch my interest but in terms of the best I have no clue I'm stuck on which one to get however the n60 is cheaper than the titanova and possibly just as good or a little less but seems to have best overall things to say in terms of clearance or whatever on the titanova but the f9 seems to be the most new and improved I guess also why they don't make one to go to my cars at the moment either lol oh well to me I'm torn between the 2 but that's 3rd one I wanted won't fit cause at the moment they don't make it in what I need for my cars
@@austinbidwell9355 I understand your dilemma. I bought the Hikari Titanova because Amazon was having a sale on them back in early April. They were going for $94 so between the N60 and the Titanova price turned out to be a push. But the Titanova has a 2 year warranty but the N60 only has an inexplicable 16 month warranty. After I bought the Titanovas, I learned why the Diamond Vision F9's wattage rating won't be an issue for most car's wiring. The wire gauge determines how much power it can handle but OEM halogens produce vastly more heat than any LED out there, so ratings for OEM halogens take into account that heat. Of the three the F9 produces the most heat while in use but it still is vastly lower than a stock halogen. The F9 also has a 2 year warranty. I would say as long as you find a set that fits your car go with any of the three. I am happy with the Titanovas. A vast improvement over another set of LED's I bought 3 years ago that were underpowered and very disappointing.
@@TheBigHouse76 I mean n60s have been running through cheap price but the titanovas seem like the best choice shoot I'm tired of not having bright lights everyone else blinds me even on dim lol so many people have em nowadays it's just time I got some lol I'm probably gonna order soon here soon seems like people having nothing but good to say how do you feel about the titanovas since getting them and using them a bit?
@@TheBigHouse76 it was either one of the 3 if I could or probably the aurora 7seven LEDs those 4 stand out to me most out of all the ones I've seen I mean hikari titanova and n60 novsight and diamond vision f9 are all sounding good but titanova looks best
@@austinbidwell9355 Austin : I like the Titanovas. Very bright. The 1st time I used them in real darkiness I had to stop at a slight uphill before turning left onto the freeway. As I turned the guy in the opposite direction flashed his lights at me, no doubt thinking I had the brights on. The lateral spread is very good, illuminating the sides very well. The throw is excellent. As I noted above, far better than my other LED's. I have a projector housing and I now feel much safer driving at night, especially when the striping on the roads has decayed. When the newer embedded with glass striping is on the roads, I feel like I am on an airport runway. I got a great deal on them as I said. But it isn't clear to me from your posts which set of LEDs we've talked about does not fit your 2004 Crown Vic. I have not looked at the Aurora 7s so I can't comment on them.
HIKARI 2024 Darkenex is out with a square head design, 55W (10W less), Evobeam2.0 9 LED chips with the same 30,000LM brightness rating. Please review when you got a moment a I am not able to find any review or comparison review vs the 2023 Titanova. Thank you.
Question why in the booklet for the bulbs there is no name on the box or booklet using “Future” or “Titanova” just on the box V50 9005. 65 watts would be 12 volts 5.4 amps. The booklet with the bulb says 12 volts 2 amps which would be 24 watts. What do you think? Thanks. Mr. B.
I am not a representative for LED manufacturers so I can't tell you exactly why, but I can speculate that they reuse included literature for different models or it is simply a misprint.
HID bulbs emit light 360° but LEDs only 180 right, so how do they illuminate in a reflector like the halogen in my 06 subaru outback? I've contacted a company about new headlights for my car and they quoted me a price for HIDs for hi and low beams, what are your thoughts about this?
They don't illuminate straight out like a flashlight but widen immediately more like a household lightbulb...there there is only a small area top and bottom that isn't covered, but is still the compromise when using LED lights. I haven't yet tested HID but I still think they are good choice. The downside is that it takes a few moments for them to reach peak brightness and they do dim over time and need to be replaced.
That depends on many actors such as outside temperature, headlight housing characteristics, etc. The only one that I think will have a better chance is the Morimoto 2-Stroke 3.0 because of the fan design, which I test a while back on my other channel: th-cam.com/video/0N9419LxeIU/w-d-xo.html
You can use in projector or reflector, but definitely watch the part about reflector output and confirm yours is the same or better once you install them.
So... I'm looking into buying these and since I'm always trying to save a buck, I've considered the Acuma route. I think I spotted the difference and its in the chipset. The Hikari has 6 leds per side whereas the Acuma has 3 per side. Each claim differing output wattage (65w vs 55w) and published statistics and I think this is why (though I'm sure real world performance varies wildly). I think I'll stick with the Hikaris. It seems they use the identical housing and cooling configuration, but the chipset differs.
Great observation! I am unsure if it was always that way, or there was a change that was made to the Acuma version since I made this video. Thanks for pointing that out! I updated the description to mention the observed diffferences.
How do these compare to the hikari hyperstar 2023? I just bought them because the current leds i had sealight scoparc wasnt doing a great job in fog/rain and i needed something thats more than a step up from that without breaking the bank plus i could get the same day from amazon. I was debating between the titanova and hyperstar but i couldnt see spending almost double in canada. But if these are way better in projector headlights then ill exchange them.
See for yourself: th-cam.com/video/rlcwIr-tJW8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cpCXyErUxj5hpyb6 And you might want to return them and get the Titanova. Why? you might also want to see this: th-cam.com/video/YMxLhQtwB7I/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps.
Unfortunately, I can't suggest a recommendation for specific vehicles as I can't test them all, I am sorry to say. That's why I can offer a baseline reference. However, I do suggest that you review my headlight data spreadsheet here: carlightreviews.com/headlightspecs and use that data to guide your decision. Note columns R, T, V and X
I have their lights from 2 generations before these. One is going out after a little over three years. I think they were rated at 1800LM. Am I going to have people thinking I am driving with my brights on with these flashing me? No problems with the last set but more light is usually better when driving at night and thinking about the upgrade but don’t want to have to adjust my lights at the same time. Any info would help. Thanks.
Aiming headlights isn't usually difficult, but it is something that everyone should do at least once a year and every time the change bulbs. At least that's my rules. Otherwise, yes, you run the risk of putting your lights in the eyes of oncoming drivers instead of on the road where it is useful. Plus...if you are running some old lights, newer versions might be helpful as technology has come a long way in a short time and these tested pretty good. Give them a try!
With the chips firing perpendicular to the ridges in the reflector bowl. This is usually horizontally, but sometimes, the bowls are designed with the ridges on an angle.
That is depends on your car and if is accepts LED headlight upgrades. I always suggest that you consult your favorite social media group or message board specific to your vehicle.

Which would you recommend between these and the x-77 Apollo if you were using reflective housings. I feel like other auto manufacturers housings will react slightly different to how it aims the light. How new and accurate is your lux tester also? That all depends on your housing and how much it likes the light characteristics. I like this light, overall it does well in both projector and reflector. The lux meter I use is consumer level, and I check it after every few reviews. It is more accurate in the real world than just about any published LED light specification. 😃
I only test light output and patten compared to halogen. Since the need for resistors and/or canbus decoders is specific to the vehicle and not necessarily the LED light, I always advise that you consult your favorite forum or social media group for you specific vehicle.
I appreciate that, but different tests will give you different results, which is why my test results differ from others. But what I will continue to offer is a realistic comparison from halogen to LED using repeatable tests.
So I was thinking of buying some led headlight bulbs for my 2020 freight liner cascadia it’s a company semi diesel truck but because I drive the truck every day at 3am I was going to buy them with my own money but your saying it’s not dot valid what would you recommend me
How would you compare this with the GTR Ultra 2 and the Morimoto 2stroke 3.0? Do you think the two led bulbs I mentioned above are worth it for the price over these?
@@rowankeltizar5961 I've ran Diode Dynamics SL1's and the Morimoto 2Stroke 2.0 Led's before and they were pricier but very bright. Trying these Hikari's out since I switched to some H7 Bulb Headlights. Will give you an update when I install these this upcoming weekend.
@@jonvh10 cool, let me know. Notably he did test the GTR quite a few months ago and they were dimmer than the Hikari which surprised me. I also am using dual H7s in projectors and trying to rig them up so they are both on at once since I lose some light to the sides when the highs are on (think big flashlights)
@@rowankeltizar5961 Hey man sorry for the late reply. I can say that these are BRIGHT. Way brighter than the Diode Dynamics SL1's I was previously running and I wouldn't be surprised if its brighter than the Morimoto or GTR's as well. I love em!
Thanks! Glad you like the channel!
As an LED technology fan I appreciate your videos. Thanks to you, I get an idea of what to expect every time I'm buying led's.
Thanks. Steven B.
i havent tried a lot of led but hikari is amazing and the 2 yr warranty is great. highly reccomend
I've been using Hikari LEDs since 2019 and I just stumbled upon your channel. Thanks for all the reviews you do and the confidence you provide me in buying the best LEDs. Oh, and thanks for the speadsheet which makes everything easy to track.
Thanks, and thanks for using the spreadsheet!
THANKS!
Glad you found the video useful! I have seen SNGL lights before, I'll take a second look. Thanks for the suggestion!
Good deal!! What liquidation store?
Man.. I love you vids. You deserve much more views and subs. No bullshit reviews with proof.🙌🏼
Thanks so much for the nice words! :)
I love my Hikari Eye of Megatron lights they are great lights
You have some amazing light reviews love the Comparison spreedsheets
3 & 9 is best for projectors
3-9 o’clock is best for projectors and reflectors.
Lookin at the position when your bulb is locked in and seeing where the filament aims. Like you said, adjust the bulbs.
You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/zlyMKnQ8nY8/w-d-xo.html
In general, replacing factory halogen bulbs with LEDs for headlights in the US is not currently legal for on-road use. But then again, California can be weird about things. 🤣
And yes, it is very important to aim your headlights at least once a year and every time the bulbs are replaced. Glad you agree!
That's because California bans everything
i bought these
insanely bright!
and actually a good color
Glad you like them!
As soon as I saw your channel I subscribed. Thank you
Awesome, thank you! Glad you like the content and thank you SO much for supporting CarLightReviews!
Thank you for your review and suggestion. It works great in my 2007 outback
Great to hear!
★ Hikari on Amazon: geni.us/hikari ★ Hikari deals on eBay: geni.us/hikariebay
★ Acuma (3 chips per side, 55w version) on Amazon geni.us/acuma ★ Acuma deals on eBay: geni.us/acumaebay
Awesome, thank you!
Was waiting for ur review for this one
Glad I can bring it to you!
I had the Hikari Acme Ultra in a 21' silverado. Really liked them. So thank-you for reviewing these. Deffinitely upgrading on my f150
Happy to help!
It is that:
1) replacing halogen bulbs with LEDs (or HIDs) in
2) headlights is
3) not legal for on-road use
That's why they are marketed as "forward lighting" or "fog lights" and not "headlights".
Your so much better than HR appreciate your effort
Thanks for the nice comment. I don't know if I agree, HR has some good videos. I have met those guys a couple of times, they are pretty cool.
I have the gtr ultra 2.0 they’re bright but I still just got these and will compare, I’m hoping these are brighter!
@Seattle808 which did you end up thinking were brighter?
I have noticed alot of leds seem to give better light output in reflector housings over projector housings
Just bought the h12 for my 2013 fiat 500 turbo and they are fantastic, I just bought their visionplus h11 for the fog lights in the same car
I priced the Acuma LEDs at $267 Cnd and $159 Cnd for the Hakari ! I’m running the GTR Lighting Ultra 2’s for low beam.
Hey, these videos are so helpful. Between Hikari 45W 2023 and X 7Seven 110W Aurora Pro, what would you go for? Thanks you for everything you do :)
Great job much appreciated, keep it up.
Thanks, will do!
That rib houses the cooling tubes that feed back to the fan housing
If you want to save a few dollars definitely go with the Acuma. Everything about them is 100% identical to the Hikari. Even the manual that comes with it is 100% identical word for word as the hikari lights for what it’s worth. I’ll guarantee they’re made in the same factory just obviously with a different name as the design on the box is also identical minus the name.
Yup, Hikari commented here in this video a while back and basically mentioned that.

Ur videos is very helpful
Installed Hikari's more economy bulbs almost 6 years ago now. Still working fine. Maybe not brightest in the market but still outperformed any premium halogen.
Gifted a bunch to family soon after and all still operating fine.
My model actually was issued a recall. But honestly I've been satisfied with them so just ignored it.
Thanks good job on that one !
Thank you too!
Been using ACUMA Nova-s (20 000 lm) on both beams and foglights for almost a year.....no problems so far and the best light for me till now
Thanks, glad to hear it. Do you see any differences between the Acuma and the Titanova? Curious if the fan guard on the back different between the two?

I think about buying conpex m8 model:250000 it’s in every car parts in my area and it have a lot of praise
👀 oh waiting for this one
The wait will be worth it.😁
Put these in a 2000 Mazda Protege with reflectors..to replace some older Hakari LEDs with horrible light scatter.
So that being said, I have a F150 I would like a high and low extremely bright, high and low h7 LED bulb which one would you refer?
Love these bulbs in my RDX. I hardly ever use my high beams, but thinking about getting a pair for them too. Not sure if it’ll work
My car has stock D4S HID Xenons from the factory. Can I use this Hikari product as a replacement?
You can give it a try if they make it in the same size, but without knowing your current HID output, I am unsure if it is an upgrade. Wish I could give you a better answer!
Looking for H7 LED lamps I came across this impressive video. I would like to install these lamps in a BMW motorcycle with a canbus system. Is it 100% sure that there is no error message on the dashboard? Does that also apply to the Acuma version? Greetings from the Netherlands.
Just purchased these lights to put on my 2000 mustang since I also bought brand new headlamps.
Nice 👍. Let me know what you think of them when you get them.
What’s the candela on reflector housing?
Would you be worried about potentially blinding oncoming traffic with lights this bright? Or do you think that the accurate light pattern in projector housing would diminish that issue? I've been thinking about these lights but want to make sure they are safe in that regard.
Never an issue as long as the light beam is adjusted properly. That's the main issue why so many people complain about LED blinding folks. Adjusting is a potential must and usually only takes a few minutes. If you have a pretty common vehicle, I imagine there is a few videos on how to adjust your specific headlights.
I have these. Better than the headlights in the latest BMWs, Audis and Mercedes cars.
Based on my testing, I wouldn't be surprised. You'll see...
I doubt they are as good as the Audi 8 adaptive lighting from 2014 - current
@@ottobauner9828it’s true. Some of the led bulbs are as brighter or brighter than 35 watt HID. And led are as brighter as a 55 watt hid.

My question is can I use these 65 watt led headlights instead of the original 60 watt halogen bulbs of my kia telluride car ?
Your answer is very likely at the @9:27 mark. Check it out!
I bought the H4's does the base separate to use dusk covers?
Accuma is Hikari's budget brand. That's why it's the same bulb for $15 less.
Thanks!
Thank YOU! I rally appreciate your support!
Are there led lights that can run "low" for daytime running light and high when it's turned on as high beam?
Question. How do you set up the led in a projector housing where the bulb is inserted from the side (not the back) I have a 2is lexus with halogens from the factory.
Thank you for all the effort you put on the reviews.
I actually am not familiar with that style of housing. Honestly, I would check the owner manual. They have factory halogen bulbs installed?

I am looking to get my mother the best led lights for her 2019 F150. Which light is the best for reflectors?
You might want to see this video I made on my other channel before I made _this_ channel, with slightly different testing methods: th-cam.com/video/0N9419LxeIU/w-d-xo.html
The F-150 reflector output is VERY good.
Will this fit/is there a D2S conversion kit for an 04 Acura TL?
Seems based off of your spreadsheet.
Not only does Titanova have best heat management, but also it has the best After 27min retainment

Thank you.
Any idea if these would fit under the dust caps on a 2020 Colorado? Thanks.
They don't. However, there are options... Check this out: th-cam.com/video/uwUIePSEUco/w-d-xo.html
The downside is that it takes a few moments for them to reach peak brightness and they do dim over time and need to be replaced.
which is more reliable between lasfit ls plus or these titanova? thanks
Hard to tell for sure as ever car's environment and usage is different. But all things considered, how would you measure reliable?
I have a Toyota Rav4 2017 LE that users a single 9012 bulb for high and low beam. Does this Hikaru light bulb have dual beam to accomplish that?
Right here! amzn.to/45So2SY
Do they get warm enough for to melt ice on my headlight housing? If not, do you have any that do that you recommend?
That depends on many actors such as outside temperature, headlight housing characteristics, etc. The only one that I think will have a better chance is the Morimoto 2-Stroke 3.0 because of the fan design, which I test a while back on my other channel: th-cam.com/video/0N9419LxeIU/w-d-xo.html
Can i use titanova in normal headlight H7? Or i need projectors necessarily ?
See for yourself: th-cam.com/video/rlcwIr-tJW8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cpCXyErUxj5hpyb6
And you might want to return them and get the Titanova. Why? you might also want to see this: th-cam.com/video/YMxLhQtwB7I/w-d-xo.html
Hope this helps.
My Colorado has factory projectors and dust caps. Do you think these bulbs would get to hot to put in there?
Not likely. Factory halogens reach over 700 degrees F in about 2 minutes. Check this out: th-cam.com/users/shortsH8VP762ApdA
I have a 09 Camry what’s the brightest head lights you would recommend
Unfortunately, I can't suggest a recommendation for specific vehicles as I can't test them all, I am sorry to say. That's why I can offer a baseline reference. However, I do suggest that you review my headlight data spreadsheet here: carlightreviews.com/headlightspecs and use that data to guide your decision. Note columns R, T, V and X
Lasfit LS pro series H11
Does this pair require drilling holes in the dust caps ? Asking as i see these have an external driver
That all depends on the size of your dust caps. I would only modify them if you can ensure a perfect, waterproof seal.
What about “Reflector” housings? How are they supposed to be orientated within a reflector housing?
With the chips firing perpendicular to the ridges in the reflector bowl. This is usually horizontally, but sometimes, the bowls are designed with the ridges on an angle.
they are the same size of lenght that the punishers?
Does this work directly on a car or do we need to install a resistor ? I want to get a high beam H1
That is depends on your car and if is accepts LED headlight upgrades. I always suggest that you consult your favorite social media group or message board specific to your vehicle.
@@CarLightReviews thank you sir
Hello, Sir, and thank you for your extremely useful information.
Please advise on the best size and brightness Hikari bulb to replace a low or dipped Phylips D4S bulb in a Toyota Fielder (Corolla) 2007 model.
Thank you kindly.

These, or the luxster punisher?
Which would you recommend between these and the x-77 Apollo if you were using reflective housings. I feel like other auto manufacturers housings will react slightly different to how it aims the light. How new and accurate is your lux tester also? Not being too nosy just wanting to make the most informed decision before buying two sets of one of these lights
That all depends on your housing and how much it likes the light characteristics. I like this light, overall it does well in both projector and reflector.
The lux meter I use is consumer level, and I check it after every few reviews. It is more accurate in the real world than just about any published LED light specification. 😃
have you tried this with resistors if not what would you recoomend for a 2016 ford fusion as my sister hid setup died and need to replace her bulb
I only test light output and patten compared to halogen. Since the need for resistors and/or canbus decoders is specific to the vehicle and not necessarily the LED light, I always advise that you consult your favorite forum or social media group for you specific vehicle.
Mr B again. Your specs are a big difference from the listed specs. Can this be a standard installation book for other bulbs? Thanks.
I appreciate that, but different tests will give you different results, which is why my test results differ from others. But what I will continue to offer is a realistic comparison from halogen to LED using repeatable tests.
So I was thinking of buying some led headlight bulbs for my 2020 freight liner cascadia it’s a company semi diesel truck but because I drive the truck every day at 3am I was going to buy them with my own money but your saying it’s not dot valid what would you recommend me
No LED upgrade designed to replace a halogen bulb is "DOT compliant".
Brightest so far in Reflector light led bulb ?
Have a look at my data spreadsheet carlightreviews.com/headlightspecs and note columns R, T, V and X
How would you compare this with the GTR Ultra 2 and the Morimoto 2stroke 3.0? Do you think the two led bulbs I mentioned above are worth it for the price over these?
Yeah I'm wondering the same thing. They are pricey LEDs so I'm curious if being twice the price is worth it in quality.
Hikari titanova(almost twice as bright)>GTR ultra 2.0>Morimoto 2stroke 3.0
@@rowankeltizar5961 Hey man sorry for the late reply. I can say that these are BRIGHT. Way brighter than the Diode Dynamics SL1's I was previously running and I wouldn't be surprised if its brighter than the Morimoto or GTR's as well. I love em!
