  • The shape of the trailer isn't conducive to universal hauling needs, but it sure can hold the weight!

I have seen many videos from you now and I never get tired of seeing how you get things from point A to point B.

RIPS for the win. This is a great place to do business. I dont feel so bad traveling 40 miles when you travel a lot farther.

Looks like you made a good load from the fertilizer plant back to the farm.

Definitely would look into a gravity box and auger

      Would certainly make life easier!!!
I did dry fertilizer in bags for a few years... Grandpa had an old John Deere fertilizer machine in the barn (we still have it, four row with shanks/chisels to open up the beds and deposit the dry fertilizer in the beds, with the "Impel-R-Feed" feed wheels and gates, driven by a single center-mounted spring loaded chain drive tire turning the gears/impeller shafts). Worked good until had some chunks of dampish fertilizer material that evidently went through the pelletizer that would clog up the outlets occasionally. I made a screen out of an old window frame with quarter inch hardware cloth stapled to it and started dumping the bags through it into the machine, set right on top of the boxes as I filled, that caught the clumps and I could break them up through the screen and then everything would flow.
It worked fine, but having to make 8-12 rows and then back up to the 16 foot lowboy trailer and load another 12 bags into it, that was a lot of manhandling bags... then a burn pile of bags on the turning row at the end of the day... toss a few clods on them to keep them from blowing away... after a few years of dealing with it I decided to just go back to regular old liquid fertilizer, we could put out everything we needed as a blend, using the dealer's applicator and nurse tank, knifed in half the fertilizer preplant knifing it into the center of the beds, then came back with another machine he had set up for sidedressing with backward curved knives to inject the other half of the fertilizer about 5-6 inches off the row before layby... Worked just as well and all the hard work done by a bulk Pacer pump with a Briggs motor on it...

A lot of people don't realize that this was intentional design for the trailer.

Our local fertilizer supplier finally started mixing Grazon in bulk fertilize. Tried it this spring and so far it really seems to be working.

Do you get it from a feed mill in a small town in Kentucky?

This is probably a long shot but im from southwest ohio as well and have a NH 775 skid steer like yours, i am restoring. I was curious if you would be open to letting me come see yours as mine is missing the hood section and whole seat assembly. If i could get measurements off one that still has that stuff, it would be greatly helpful.

Have you considered a gravity boxon that trailer. Here bulk is cheaper enough that you can scrap a box every few years and still be money ahead over bags

I have thought about the gravity box option. The problem is that we'll have fertilizer in it from the end of April through July 4 for sweet corn. I have seen a wooden box for fertilizer hauliyfor sale, but was more than a State away
