Great playing as usual, Leonard! I just found (in my local pawn shop) a Fender Player Tele with 2 humbuckers and it sound sand play fantastic, The neck is slim ( the way I like it) and the pickups are actually very nice (the coil split works well). Turns out this is the guitar I never knew I needed! Thanks for another awesome video!
What a fantastic review. Your playing is amazing! I have this exact guitar ( but with the Red Tortoise pickguard). I absolutely love it! Great build quality and a joy to play 😀👍🏻 I have just subscribed to your channel 👍🏻👍🏻
Well that's how it should be played! Impressed and inspired again. I have fender vintera 70's custom and as you said the real magic is blending the full on bridge with the smooth neck, there are some really tasty tones to be had. Hope you are well, take care😊😊🎸🎸🎸🎸
Hi Len, I really like everything about this G&L. That humbucker that you're kind of iffy on is right up my alley. The mix when you're in the middle sounds great. It's amazing what you can get for $550 (likely a bit less if you're willing to do the work, I am) I also love the 6 brass saddles. Your playing is terrific as always. I really like this guitar and the price makes it even more attractive. Thanks and Cheers from Chicago.
Always a thorough demo and super tasty playing! That bridge pickup or combination both pickups sound fantastic. I wonder if replacing the neck pickup with the Fender Widerange pickup would add some clarity. I suppose there's a lot of other options out there for the neck pickup. G&L make solid guitars and glad you showcased this one!
Thanks for the bluesy review, i am currently looking for some T Style with a bit wormer bridge sound then the std tele sound. Will test this one out soon. Or maybee the asat tribute classic hollow? Not shure yet
Really fetching with the Candy Apple Red-ish Dakota Red-ish color combo and the H/S Telecaster pickup platform despite the challenges of integrating the Single coil/250k-Humbucker/500k paradigm that is challenging to get just right. Nice sounding guitar. It seems like this one kind of begs for a vintage output PAF style pickup in the neck, both for keeping its output and volume witching reasonable parity with the single coil bridge pickup, as well as clarity and chime on a neck pickup. I think a Seymour Duncan Jazz Model in the neck would pair well with this slightly overwound-sounding bridge pickup. Really nice review, playing and tones on this guitar.
Terrific sounds, as usual, and a very nuanced take on that pickup improvement by Leo Fender that might have been a rare misstep! I’m currently using a G&L strat Legacy, which we got my son in 2002. Amazed that the G&L guitars are overlooked so much, considering how many other strat and tele clones are out there now. Wondering which you think are best…. how about a shootout (or two)?
Great review and superb playing! Now I want one of those G&L HumbuckerTeles. All I need to do next is get a capo, tune to F# minor, ditch the pick and dig in with my fingers to go into Iceman mode, right? Would that it were that easy!
I used to be a bit of an Albert Collins nut, to the point other players at festivals would mention how much I sounded like him. I never took it as far as copying his setup, but to this day it finds its way into my playing. Thanks so much for watching.
Would you be up for a video comparison between the G&L Fullerton Deluxe Legacy, S-500, and Comanche? I'm curious about the differences between these three models...and would of course love to hear you play on all three. Thanks for your videos, I get a lot out of them.
That’d be an interesting comparison, unfortunately I haven’t the resources to acquire those guitars all at once and it’d just be dumb luck if it happened. Especially now with the used market so sluggish. My channel has grown tremendously but it’s still not in a place where’s there’s any financial backing. And I’m a musician, not someone with a lucrative day job. But I will keep it in mind. I did review a USA Legacy and also did a comparison with the Tribute version. Thanks so much for watching. It helps.
These do have a reputation for being heavy, and the Tribute Legacy I featured was. But this one is actually fairly light. I’d recommend buying from somewhere that publishes the weight, or asking. Light ones are out there. Thanks so much for watching.

Well that’s great. Thanks so much for watching.
Great playing Leonard, you did that Asat Bluesboy justice, big time. Thanks for the vid - and your playing especially! Cheers!
Thanks so much. Appreciated.
Exceptional playing today!!! Great review, as usual!!!
Looking forward to what’s next!
Thank you my friend. I liked your recent video showing off all the guitars you’ve built. Nice.
Nice one! Rosewood + 6 Brass Saddles = 'someone thought about this!'. Thanks for the demo 😀
And thank you for watching.

Thanks so much. Yes, these are nice guitars all too often overlooked.

Thanks so much. Very much appreciated.
As always, an honest review! And some great playing also!
Thank you my friend. Appreciated. You will always get honest reviews. No one sponsors these videos.
Nice demo Leonard , I think the white pick guard is an upgrade.
Thank you my friend. I bought it slightly used. It does make it look like the USA model, which might have been the point.

Thanks so much. Yeah, no shortage of pickup options.

They’re certainly solid choices. Thanks so much for watching.

G&L makes wonderful guitars. If you saw my video on the USA Legacy you’ll know how impressed I was with that one. Thanks so much.
Griff nice review, thank you !
Thanks so much.

Thanks for this test. You made it sound very well. 🙂
Thanks so much.
Great video. - Come to Berlin with your band.
Thanks so much. I’ve played in Germany but I think my touring days are probably behind me.
Sweet!
Thanks my friend. This would be a fine slide guitar as well!
I don’t like those six individual saddles. The string can’t go through the center, it’s offset pulling the barrel down on one side.
No. Each saddle has two screws. It can’t be pulled down on one side any more than a Strat saddle can.
Great guitar for playing live. Strong bold sound,. The neck would be great for jazz, jump blues. Only prob is 8.5 lbs, only sturdy youth need apply.

There is a semi-hollow version that I imagine is a bit lighter.
@@cholling1 Yes, the original Fender Tele thinline was developed for just that reason. Still, at 7 lbs., 10 oz. this Tribute is not bad at all.
Thanks!
Thank you so much.
@@leonardgriffieblues5845 Of course - a little something for the "G&L Fullerton Deluxe Fund". 😉
Jk, just showing appreciation for what you do.
You sir, are a fine person.
Hi Leonard, great playing you really sold the guitar, interesting review I’m definitely gonna try one
✌️🧷🎸
Thanks. Yeah, it’s worth a look for sure.
