Thanks! With this trick specifically it allows any dog to get comfortable with the behavior at their own pace. We do also use luring in some of our training, but only when it's the most appropriate way to get a more precise behavior, and it promotes motivation throughout the teaching! I have 2 australian shepherds and I need ways to get their excersize in. Only one of my dogs fetches and neither of them will play with or catch a frisbee so I’ve needed ideas on how to get their excersize in so they don’t get to laid back because they are a very energetic and fast learning breed and their energy needs to be let out. I’ve loved these videos and they’ve given me a lot of ideas on training my dogs things!
Its best to slowly get the dog use to the hoop by petting the hoop, placing the hoop near the dog while rewarding them, or perhaps even scenting the hoop until they adjust.
