This is the most Thug Life shit I think I've ever seen.To have the balls as a grown man to, not only film yourself playing with GI Joes, but to do it with 100% sincerity in the hope that others will enjoy, is really some next level stuff. It's not a cheap parody, or some robot chicken crap. You honor the characters knowing each one was, and still is someone's favorite--mine being firefly. I just watched you guys do what I've thought about doing ever since the day I put it all away in the attic. You guys just said F#$% it and did it anyway, knowing somewhere there were people out in the world who would enjoy watching these figures come to life again. And the proof is in the comments. Well done, fellas. Well done.

You my friend truly "get it". I'm so glad these vids found their way to you. I foresee we'll make them for a good time to come. Maybe a solo Firefly story? 😃
Thanks for the awesome comment. It really does sum up what we hope to achieve in the community. I've shared it with the rest of the team.

On my TBP, Mainframe and Dialtone would've been in the control room, Torpedo, Gung Ho, and BeachHead would have been on the devilfish and securing the beach in a coordinated rendevous with Airborne, Halo, and Crazy legs who would have dropped in during the night. Then have the tomahawk come in with support troops from the air and the APC bringing in some more troops! love it!

mmmmmm, I never thought of this before but, it would be possible
to build a fitting wood rack to fit the platform for deeper waters.
all it has to do is fit it s legs, and it could float, or be planted in the sea floor.
you d have to remove the black leg extensions, and stick in the matching wood beams in the red parts.
the 4 beams would need to be joined by a frame to fit the platform s dimension precisely.
once painted red or grey, it d be quite good looking.
short would float, and long would be quite stable, stuck in the underwater ground sand.
    good show guys!

I had a spare bedroom for my play room: I’d put down a baby blue blanket for the Water. Carpet was grass/woods. Gray blanket was cement/city.
I had n actual plastic runway from a corny toy play set, which I kept the runway for gi joe, plus I kept the oil barrels, gas cans, spotlights, cardboard control tower.
I would use cardboard boxes, which my friend Travis- whom was a bad ass drawer...in the 3rd grade thru the 6th grade, when we played toys, he was better than any high schooler by far!!!-
Anyways....Travis would paint and use sharpies on my “card board boxes”...he’d do complex computers, door hatches, other rooms that looked like u could go into that room. Plus there were actual rooms too. Plus...I’d buy GI Joe cereal, n use the cardboard super computer & weapons racks & science lab backs, that I’d cutout n put in cardboard base.
Plus...I’d use Go-bot & transformer packages sometimes for the scenery, specially if they were big enough or fit in specific spot.
Plus....(yeah yeah,,) I’d use sticker sheets as well. I think there was colored Xmas wrap/foil to use as base walls, floor n ceiling.
Anywho, this base was used mainly as Dreadnoks base, cuz the joes had their base n water platform n a toy garage that I added next to launch pad.
Cobra: had all the Vehicles in my collection mainly, cuz Cobra had the coolest by far: hydro foil, night raven, trouble bubble, fang, fang two, the worm n maggot truck thingy , thunder machine, ferret, swamp bike, serpentors chariot, rattler, hiss, missle rack that Hiss towed, the razor wheel bike thingy, the whale, scorpion , etc etc.
Gi joes had their cool stuff too, but not nearly as much: Flagg of course, hovercraft, dragonfly, tomahawk, mobile Command center, marauder, the snow mobile tank with ski missiles, sgt slaughters truck, hang gliders, awe striker, devil fish, all motorcycles, ....but yeah...mainly cobra.
Besides, I couldn’t afford Flagg or command center or space shuttle or their jets.
I got base n water platform from a friend who quit playing, n wanted like $20 bucks total.
Cardboard base, was pretty bad ass for the Dreadnoks base. Wish I could still play with toys (sigh)
Although, I will be making a 3-D printed base soon!! Gong to make a lair with bar, bike garage, pop machines for lazy Dreadnoks. Working neon lights, elevator with working string, turrets n watch towers , spot light n flak. Control center n jail/torture room.
And....an actual tv, that will be a 5.5” portable DVD player screen, with iron girders around it for trim.
I have the blue prints almost ready, but still not sure yet with regular printer for doing decals n stickers sheets to apply to cardboard backing scenery.
I cannot wait to do this!!

So I’ve been looking at the platform as a centerpiece pretty heavily, and you guys use it mostly how I’d imagine it.
    Mostly.
It absolutely flabbergasts me that the ‘transportable’ meant BY AIR. By Dragonflies, no less. The thing looks like an oil rig, and you would think it would be used as something that could be towed in like a barge and then anchored off shore as a resupply pointer support base. Seems a bit ridiculous to see it hauled through the air (no idea why you couldn’t use Tomahawks, but I don’t think they have winches…)

    • @gijoburg
      @gijoburg  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Tomahawks do indeed have winches. But we wanted to recreate the illustration on the TTBP box depicting four Dragonflies. If for no other reason than I don’t think anyone else has on TH-cam. Or anywhere else as far as I can tell.
